Loved it!
The June Favourite was Billy Summers
I haven't read much of King this year, but whenever I do he tends to come out on top

An excellent novel! The character of Bill Summers, an assassin, telling the story of a complex job. Stephen King remains a master of words. The story is so well written that I was engrossed from the first few pages until the very end. The ending caught me by surprise but was excellent. Wow!!
I have been wanting to read this book for a while now. The plot really intrigued me and I would say it didn‘t disappoint. There were definitely parts that were slower than others, but overall it was an enjoyable read and incredibly suspenseful at some points!
4/5 ⭐️
So I listened to an audiobook while reading along with the book, and I think it made the sense experience with the book that much better for me. Definitely one of the easier reads from this author, mind you, Carrie will and always will be my favorite. This is a close second.
DNF I tried multiple times to get into this one. I even got the audiobook from the library thinking that would help. It did not. This just wasn‘t for me. Usually love a noir but this didn‘t feel like a noir to me. But looking forward to his latest book
Like its hitman protagonist, this novel has an identity crisis, and as it lurched from one half-baked cliche to another, I smelled a rat: this thing was written to be a lucrative TV miniseries. Warmed-over plotting, a female character who feels disturbingly like wish fulfillment, and King specifying the politics of EVERY CHARACTER. We get it, dude. There‘s a decent novel about trauma and writing buried in here somewhere…bring a big backhoe.
New additions to the King collection!👏🏻🖤
My King collection has been mostly gifted to me from various friends❤️
Locke & Key S3 E6 is in motion👌🏻
The laundry can wait!
Billy Summers sits in the hotel lobby, waiting for his ride.

1. Yes, love them
2. Stephen King has created some good ones, my favorite is recent read Billy Summers. He is so calculated and detached yet also likable. After all, he only kills people who deserve it. 😮
Thank you for the tag @JenReadsAlot even though I‘m a day late. #Two4Tuesday @TheSpineView
I don‘t know what to think about King‘s latest novel, a one-last-job homage, war story, and straight-up thriller. I can‘t tell if it was any good, or if King‘s writing is good enough to keep me reading no matter the subject matter. What do you all think? Was it good?
I did enjoy all The Shining references, I guess…
Love!! I was excited to see the reference to The Shining, my first and favorite King book. Also references to the area I live in, I always get excited at mentions of my home and my maiden name. The storyline was great. My only complaint was the constant mention of Trump. I know King hates Trump, that's fine, whatever. A time or two would have been ok to keep the timeline relevant, but it felt like it went overboard. #20in4 #Readathon
I set my #MarvelousMarch goal at 500 pages. I read 940 pages. I am proud of my accomplishment.
Finished this with hours to spare while traveling Upstate to spend time with family.
Not typical King but excellently written. Looking forward to the alleged television series of it — I was rooting for Billy the whole way. My only complaint was the excessive references to The Shining, which didn‘t add anything. 🤷🏻♀️
Jumping into this audiobook to see if the novel lives up to the hype. Interesting hit man with a heart & a brain protagonist. Mystery/thriller award season is starting up, so interested to see if King will be lauded once again. (His early horror is brilliant.) #crime #hitman #audiobooks
And Billy Summers takes its rightful place on the shelf. Pick! Loved it! Billy is an Iraq war vet / hitman who is working his last job. Complications arise at every corner. It was great! I really enjoyed it, and I just loved Billy. Not really the supernatural or horror elements that I tend to expect from SK but loved it all the same.
The thing about Stephen King is that I put it off for so long because once you start there‘s no going back. Diving in today, only 500 pages to go 😆
I really don‘t have a review for this one yet. A lot of times I felt like large parts of the plot went too fast and other parts of the book dragged. Was there very interesting parts? Yes. But I found myself reading just so I could finish and move on to another book
What a great story! Second Steven King book I‘ve read and now I‘m a total fan. Billy is a paid for hire, excellent bit man who learned his skills while serving in Iraq. I was fascinated by his step by step details about planning and executing the attack. Billy‘s secret is that he plays “dumber” than he is and he‘s secretly writing a book about his life. Great characters and plot twists
#bookhaul for Christmas - many thanks to my husband for all the goodies and my MIL for The Midnight Library
#WinterGames2021 #TeamGameSleighers points total 681. @StayCurious pic are some of my favorite things on Christmas day.
Sloths & Stephen King....they go together, right!? My two favorite things. My best friend really hit it out of the park with my Christmas gifts this year. 😍🎅🎁
This gave me serious Dexter vibes! You know, when you‘re rooting for the good guy who is also a killer but it‘s ok because he only kills bad guys. Seriously though, this is a great book, I loved Billy Summers, an ex-marine sharp shooter with a past. He‘s hired to do a last hit job before “retiring” when things go astray. Fast paced, page turning, high adventure and identity changes! This one will keep you up late at night.
A quiet Friday night. Just me, the pup and Billy Summers. I‘m really enjoying this book!

🍂 Being with my family had me smiling this week. Nothing major just having them around.
🍁I don‘t enjoy reading a book with ripped pages or folded corners.
@BarkingMadRun Thank you so very much for this in English! I truly appreciate it. And if you want the Polish one back, just let me know and I can send back to you. Not a problem.

Darn you #BookOutlet !!! You always lure me in with that one book I‘ve been thinking about buying & then … how can I stop at just one!! How am I going to quit this habit with you constantly tempting me!?! 😩 Sigh. I love books. 🖤 😁
Finished The Institute and moved on to this one. About a 110 pages in and enjoying it so far! I have a tendency to read a lot of an author once I like and start reading them and King is no exception.
Honestly if I did not know the author before reading this book, I never would have guessed Stephen King!
Former marine sniper, Billy Summers is a hit man who “kills bad men.” He finally decides to take on his so-called last hit.
But of course things do not go as planned.
I appreciated reading some King that was out of the horror genre and more suspense, and I was able to finish most of it in just one night because I needed to know the ending!
I finally got to open my #bws package 😍😍😍😍 I am OVERWHELMED. THIS PACKAGE WAS INSANE! Made mine look dinky in comparison. Literally cried. Thank you so much @moonprismpower. It is all stunning. I love it all so much.
I stayed up way too late last night just to finish this. I couldn‘t stop reading. #Scarathlon #TeamHendrix #ReadWithUs #Screamathon #SpookOWeen #20in4 #Wickedathon #BookSpinBingo
Started this one on audio while running errands with my hubby
And so it begins. 😳
Today-a reading day with my buddy, Stephen King. The tagged book is so good.
A bit of knitting while finishing up this audiobook. Stephen King straight up took a hatchet to all my feels and left them a bloody tattered mess with this one. You‘ve completely wrecked all my emotions, Uncle Stevie. Thank you. 🪓🪓🪓🪓🪓
Another good read from the master of scary reads. Billy Summers is the Dexter of snipers. A great main character involved in killing the bad people out there. With a military background, Billy protects himself until he rescues Alice. Beware of the real scary happenings of women in this book. Billy is fighting to get the bad men. Real world scary is always scarier than killer clowns.😳
1. Audio - Tagged book
Physical book - Wakenhyrst by Michelle Paver
Kindle - The Ghost Fields- Ellie Griffiths
2. Tagged - Nearing the end and SK is hitting me in all the feels. Very, very good.
Physical - Greatly enjoying the gothic feel.
Kindle- Reading a Ruth Galloway mystery feels like going home and enjoying a visit with an old friend.

10-4-21: My 97th finished book of 2021! Billy Summers is an Iraq war vet who has become an assassin for hire. We meet Billy when he has taken on his final hit. During the time he is gearing up for the kill he starts to write a book about his life. The story goes back and forth in time to his childhood and time in the war and to his preparation for his last job. There is much involved in not getting caught which leads him to finding Alice.
