Bk3 of May is done. Loved the conclusion to this mythology/earth magic duology so much! I need to include more BIPOC fantasy into my reading coz this was fabulous. For a YA story there‘s a lot of very heavy themes here including grief & the burdens of duty but there‘s also snark & the power of love. Highly recommend. #BookspinBingo #FourFoursIn23 #Pantone2023 #ReadySetRead

Bk2 of May is done. I‘m really hoping this means my mojo is coming back, but I‘ve prob just jinxed it! The 1st in a YA duology by a BIPOC author, it features an LGBTQ+ & BIPOC cast in a mythology/magical retelling of the Medea story involving poison gardens & earth magic. I loved it so much I‘m already halfway through the sequel. #BookspinBingo #Doublespin #FourFoursIn23 #NoBuy2023Bingo #ReadingTheUSA #NewYork #Pantone2023 #ReadySetRead

I couldn‘t help starting this one yesterday, then I‘m up till 8am this morning finishing it! It was intense, intriguing & obviously, very addicting. But I did have some issues with it, which I‘ll be explaining in Spoiler comments below👇👇👇 #Booked2023 #Featuring3Generations #FourFoursIn23 #WombatCombat #ChunksterChallenge #Pantone2023 #GreyedJade #ReadySetRead #52BookClubRC #BookspinBingo

Lizpixie While I loved the story & the setting, the author is as good as Jane Harper in making the place a character, she also does the same with the time it‘s set in, I had issues with the characters! Two were extremely gullible & weak & the other was one of the most manipulative MCs she‘s ever written. Which isn‘t really an issue, my problem is that she got away with everything she did with not even a single blame in sight! If that was my parent, 👇👇👇 1mo
Lizpixie you bet your arse I‘d be blaming her for everything!! And that the real murderer got away with what she did and the poor murdered mother was left with the blame still. And the ending was a bit of an anticlimax honestly. But don‘t get me wrong, it was still an enthralling read. 🤷🏻‍♀️ 1mo
Cinfhen I used to love Kate Morton / definitely adding this one to my RIDICULOUS TBR 1mo

The final book in the Bridal Quartet is my favorite. First off, it's just fun because by now you know all the characters so well. But I also really relate to Parker a lot, and also her entire relationship with Mal just ❤️ I also married a blue collar, rough-around-the-edges man whose motorcycle was unexpectedly attractive 😂 Overall just a happy series that I always love to reread.

Clwojick Way to go! 🎉 2mo

Bk1 of #EasterOMC & #AwesomeApril #readathon is done! Wow. One of the best SciFi books I‘ve read in a long time, and I‘ve read some brilliant one lately. I love a novel with intricate world-building & this has some of the best I‘ve read. Then she peoples it with the best characters I‘ve met. Total win-win for me👍 #BookspinBingo #Doublespin bk of April #Booked2023 #WithATransorNonBinaryPerson #FourFoursIn23 #RomanceExpanse #NoShameReadathon

Lizpixie @Nessavamusic @Lauredhel I highly recommend it. It‘s my first 5⭐️read of the year and honestly, will probably move onto my Top 20 SciFi list. I really hope she writes more set in this world🤞 2mo
Lizpixie @Andrew65 I thought it took way longer than I would‘ve a year ago! I‘m still struggling with brain fog and it sucks🫥 2mo
Andrew65 @Lizpixie Sorry to hear that but pleased to hear you are persevering. 2mo

The Reunion: A Novel | Kayla Olson

Liv is nervous about filming a reunion of the teen drama that launched her career. It isn‘t the script or the return to TV that are causing her nerves. It is once again being close to co-star Ransom who was once her closest friend and her unrequited crush. I have seen some mixed reviews for this one but I really liked it. The behind the scenes antics were fun and the chemistry between Liv and Ransom was sold.

I found this one to be quite engaging, partially because I actually liked Hal, which is more than I can say about other Ware MCs that I have read haha Not a lot actually happens here and it seemed like I should be bored, but instead I really did want to find out how Hal was connected to this family. Not a book I will read again, but a one-off I really enjoyed.

Not quite as great as the first book in the series but still a lot of fun. This time around Finlay is trying to find out who wants to put a hit out on her ex husband and things quickly get more complicated when a hit man accepts the job, her ex refuses to see that there is a threat, two men are confusing the heck out of her, and her agent still expects her next book.

Mehso-so

My word, what a book! I can see why this one has never been as popular as Austen's novels. The characters here were not particularly likable or relatable, almost nothing happens, and I didn't particularly hold out any hope for the long-term happiness of anyone haha I am glad to have read this classic, but it is way too long for the amount of story it contains. Never would have made it through without snarky hashtags from @BarkingMadRead !! ⬇️

TheAromaofBooks (cont'd) Thank you so much for hosting this buddy read! (I think... on the other hand, that's 923 pages of my life I'll never get back 😂)
