Let the #hyggehour begin! I have cranberry pomegranate tea and cookies shaped like groundhogs. It looks like work might finally calm down this week so this Sunday isn‘t as scary as they usually are. Maybe by this time next week I will have finally finished Sense And Sensibility??

AmyG If the groundhogs see their shadows-does that mean 6 more weeks of cookies???? 🤣 2d
AnnCrystal Golden Girls ☕📚💝. 2d

Bookwormjillk @ncsufoxes It's really good! #Naturalitsy has been reading a tree a day and I'm really enjoying it. (Even if I do sometimes fall behind and have to catch up on Sunday nights.) 1d

Great reading month for January! I finished 19 books total & read almost all I set out to. I think weekly plane rides & trying to avoid media upped my reading time. Finished all 3 #Roll100 books, 3 from my #AuldLangSpine list from @JacqMac + #AuthorAMonth #SundayBuddyRead #ChildrensClassicRead2025 #NancyDrewBR #BobWhiteBuddies #FoodandLit #ChloeGongReadalong #ThematicCozies #FictionalTraveler #Naturalitsy #MidWinterSolace #JaneAustenThenAndNow ⬇️

DebinHawaii … & #SeriesLove2025 & also had some library books sneak their way in. I enjoyed most everything I read (although I got a little heavy with Nazis/Fascists books for a month of political horror that was depressing but some lighter books pulled me out). Top 3 Favorites were Bad Cree, Lula Dean‘s Little Library of Banned Books & The Night Guest. (edited) 2d

January 2025 #BookSpinBingo
Cold, snowy weather gave me lots of reading time! I completed several MG books for the Truman preliminary list as well as several other books. I think my favorite was our #LitsyBookClub pick The Book of Doors. I‘ve also continued our long #NoPlaceLikeHolmes read and started a couple new long reads for this year. I‘m thoroughly enjoying A Tree a Day for #NaturaLitsy.

Cuilin I love starting my day with this book. I love the Major Oak tree in Sherwood Forest and I also love the road of trees in Northern Ireland. 3d
TheBookHippie Yes! I loved that Theresienstadt was in the book and everyday I‘m in awe. Such a perfect book for the year! 3d

CBee I need to catch up but am very much enjoying it! 3d
AllDebooks @Cuilin I loved the Major Oak too, visited it many times. It is a lovely book. 😍 3d
AllDebooks @TheBookHippie glad you like it. I like the variety of posts, so interesting. 3d
AllDebooks @CBee no rush, just enjoy. X 3d
Read4life I‘m just enjoying this book. I start my day with it out on the hammock with my coffee. It‘s just a perfect start to each new day. 3d

Faranae 😂 I think I'm the only one who doesn't like the book. I thought I would, but it doesn't go deep enough at all, and some of the trees I already knew about, I got annoyed because of how she talked about them (for example, focusing on the death of Kiidk'yaas instead of its part in Haida life, the saplings created from cuttings, the use of the wood in Six String Nation, etc).

It did give me something to track daily for Storygraph though!
3d
dabbe I'm loving it and even got Matt reading it with me. 🤩 The only parts that sadden me, though, are the trees that no longer exist. 🥺 3d
TEArificbooks I‘m loving it. I thought it was going to highlight a tree species a day but I like the specific trees. I thought the 11 bonsai trees was a cute story. 3d
Daisey I‘m thoroughly enjoying this book as well! I don‘t tend to read it every day but about every 3 days I read a few days. I‘m not sure it‘s quite what I was expecting, but it‘s fascinating. 2d
Seabreeze_Reader I'm enjoying the daily essays, although I sometimes miss a few days and then read multiple entries to catch up. I think the reading is just the right length and if I'm curious about finding out more info, I can do more research on my on. The stories of destruction do make me sad. How could someone manage to run over a lone tree in the middle of the Sahara dessert? It just boggles my mind. So far, I still like the Emancipation Oak entry the best. 2d
kspenmoll My favorite entry for January is 01/04-The willow tree-always loved the weeping willows. 2d
kspenmoll @TheBookHippie Loved this info too- there is so much in this book-I adore it & its a lovely way to start my day. 2d
AllDebooks I enjoy the variety of posts, not just actual trees but stories, art, sculpture, literary references, and history. 1d

Bookwormjillk I enjoyed this book a lot. I‘m not sure I found it hopeful. More like there is promise of hope if we do the right thing. I thought the audiobook was very well done. You could hear the emotions in the author‘s voice. 3d
Roary47 I really enjoyed the book also. I show a video to my classes every year called The Plastic Ocean and it has the same tone, and much of the same information. It is nice to see the change that happens to my students after they realize how much just plastic is causing on aquatic ecosystems. I think a change for the better is the aim by the tone they have. I also listened to the audio which was really nicely done @Bookwormjillk 3d
TheBookHippie @Bookwormjillk I felt this way too. I love the ocean so much and I fear for it. The book is very well written and I think it‘s a must read. Done very well. I had a library book and I had to wait for it so that‘s encouraging. 3d
