I think about how we all have our own perspectives and often struggle to see a big picture or accept other perspectives as valid. I would love to be able to feel grounded more often with clearer understanding of situations.

TheBookHippie I think we all struggle to think it‘s valid -so I switched to this is valid for them. Unless hateful- I don‘t generally care… I think it‘s very important to not dismiss lived experience- especially from someone marginalised. 3d

TheBookHippie I generally feel grounded. Especially in chaos -so I‘m doing fairly better than most in this current regime. Also being in social justice a long time helps. Peace within with chaos outside is the way to live. 3d

Cuilin I really embrace other people‘s opinions, I think having children who are very much of their generation has led me to explore and grow. I love learning I love hearing what other people have to say. For example, I am not a Taylor Swift fan, but I‘ve enjoyed watching people break down the new album and the lyrics both those who hated it and those who love it I find it fascinating. (edited) 3d

ravenlee I like the idea that the fiery skull shows what is behind the persona. It burns away the façade and allows us to see who someone truly is. I‘d like to think sometimes it‘s for the better, but generally not. 2d

We often have “a feeling” but do not know how to respond. Have you ever questioned your intuition? I know that my intuition is often right but sometimes i ignore it because it is “inconvenient “.

AmyG I have been working on listening to my intuition more. How many times, in hindsight, have I realized I should have been listening to myself. But sometimes intuition is a fleeting thought proven correct all along. For me, it‘s trying to be aware of those. 3d

TheBookHippie Anytime I have not trusted my intuition or put it aside to avoid conflict- I have paid dearly. I don‘t do that anymore. Using No. As a complete sentence has helped me immensely. 3d

Cuilin @TheBookHippie Yes no is a complete sentence. Definitely works. I also like to use the pause. I literally say nothing but just keep looking, slightly quizzical. It makes people very uncomfortable, and they start filling in the gap themselves. Yeah, always go with your intuition. 3d

Kerrbearlib I didn‘t used to listen to my intuition because I was taught not to trust it. I‘ve since realized society brainwashes people, especially women, to not trust our intuition. I think this quote from Controlling People sums it up perfectly: “many people have learned to distrust their own intuition and everyone else's, too. It was not so long ago that those who listened to their intuition were called witches and warlocks.” I trust my intuition now.

ravenlee I feel like this could have a whole separate discussion about menopause/pre-menopause. As a “woman of a certain age,” there‘s a lot of question as to whether any of this is physical or mental/emotional. 2d

This is something that lives in my thoughts all the time… We are being fear mongered about immigrants.. vaccines… books…and because our brains are hard wired to seek safety it is easy for some people to give in to the fear mongering. In the end Baba Yaga was the provider of safety….

AmyG With all the fear mongering in our news, I have had moments of “fearful doubt”? I recently got vaccines and for a hot minute I felt fear. But I was able to tell myself, listen to myself, that this is science and nothing to fear. 3d

AmyG I also want to add….if someone I don‘t fully trust is trying to help me…well, that makes it more difficult to accept the help. 3d

TheBookHippie So fear of reaction to a vaccine or drug -yes -but only because I do have multiple medication allergies. It‘s a leap of faith for new things that they‘ll do more good than harm. Otherwise not that I can think of. 3d

Cuilin As an immigrant myself living in America, yeah I‘ve been full of fear a lot lately. It‘s definitely affecting my health. A few years ago, I was in a coffee shop and somebody said something to me about not being American and then ended it with, but you‘re the right type of immigrant so you‘re OK. Like WTF? They really thought that last line made things better. 3d

ravenlee There‘s so much fear of the unknown, fear of the different. It‘s particularly bad now, but it‘s not a recent phenomenon. People in general are afraid of what they do not understand. Sometimes that fear is protective, but it almost cuts off our realm of experience if we never push past it. 2d

I have always felt a bit of connection to Baba Yaga. When my daughter was little she would ask me which disney princess i was and i always told her i was Baba Yaga. I believed deeply in the wisdom of the crone and fear mongering of witches….

lil1inblue I've got to play catch-up! I don't want to say I got stuck on Chapter 2, but I needed to take it in small bits because it got heavy. I'm hoping to get to Chapter 3 this weekend! I do remember hearing about Baba Yaga from my 4th grade teacher, Mrs. Abrams (she was THE BEST), but I don't remember a lot of details. 3d

ravenlee I didn‘t grow up with Baba Yaga exactly, but I encountered the stories sometime in my adolescence. Now I‘m starting to think about elements of the BY/Vasilisa stories in books I‘ve read. For instance, Ilona Andrews incorporates Vasilisa into the Kate Daniels world (specifically the Roman novella Sanctuary), Patricia Briggs‘ Mercy Thompson series features a Baba Yaga who is involved in MLM sales… 2d

ravenlee …and I‘m starting to wonder if the heroine of Katherine Arden‘s Small Spaces is a Vasilisa. Well, I had an amazing literature mentor who leaned heavily into Jung/Campbell/Frye archetypes and I‘ve been conditioned to find archetypes in literature! 😆 2d

Chrissyreadit @IriDas I think this is complicated and nuanced- and depends on the perspective of the quote for sure. You are right that too many times women stay in dangerous relationships with a misconception of love. Maybe the first step is defining healthy love, then feeling safe when it is healthy. 2w

kspenmoll @IriDas I truly appreciate your point of view and it certainly is valid. My perspective is different because of my 34 year-old marriage-early in our marriage my husband suffered a series of devastating losses: after 22 yrs.,he lost the job he was passionate about due to a buy out, his younger brother died suddenly, leaving behind an infant & 5 yr.old, his mother died of cancer. He succumbed to a deep depression. I was left to take care of ⬇️ (edited) 1w

kspenmoll @IriDas ⬆️ our 4 yr. old, manage the household, manage my ongoing recovery from a previous car accident, look for a job. I did indeed feel like “running” as fast as I could! But I chose to stay if he would get treatment.I was lucky to have the support of family & friends. He found the tight treatment, embraced it & worked his way back to the land of the living.In the process he was diagnosed with Autism like our son. I went to work & grad ⬇️ (edited) 1w

IriDas @kspenmoll Thanks for sharing your story. It helped understand your perspective and why that quote resonated with you. So glad to hear that your husband was willing to seek help. It truly makes me happy to hear. I realize that I too should have probably phrased my last sentence better. I wish we lived in a society where people didn‘t use quotes like this one to shame people into staying in bad situations and that more stories ended like yours. 💕 1w

I have been wondering why this subgenre is so popular. As someone who has been stalked and assaulted I have a hard time finding the romance in any of this- it lends more to horror for me (although i did think Hooked told a good story and was shocked i liked it) But when reading chapter 2 in the book I wonder if this is a different way to understand the dark man in our psyches. Or is this representing our Shadows and our own dark sides? I have

GingerAntics Yeah, I‘ve wondered that myself. I used to enjoy those books as a teen, until I was stalked, abused, etc. Now they just don‘t sit right with me. I‘ve always seen it as the predator trying to convince us that their harm is actually good/romantic. I find it troubling that more and more of this is written by women. 3w

TheBookHippie @Chrissyreadit @GingerAntics interestingly I‘ve found unhealed women read these and healed women abhor them. Only reason I say this is it‘s how I feel and then I got into a discussion with some women and they said they read it for comfort because it was comforting. When they got to healing and therapy they no longer could read it. Interesting. I honestly don‘t know over all- that‘s a tiny group here at a women shelter book club. I personally ⬇️ 3w

TheBookHippie Don‘t read this type of book. I don‘t read certain subjects because I do not believe it‘s ethical and is sometimes theater trauma or voyeur trauma. No thanks. There are things I lived I care not to read about. It‘s not what I use reading for. I however have no issue with people who need it or want it. Personal choice is not my business. 🙃 3w

GingerAntics @TheBookHippie that‘s a really valid point. If some people want to read it, like it, more power to them I guess. I still find it heartbreaking that falling for the predator is this massive trope. I mean, even Beauty and the Beast falls into this. We‘re selling it to little kids as normal. 3w

TheBookHippie @GingerAntics I adored dark fairytales as a child and they were comforting because no happy ending and it was real. Like my life. Disney fairytales made me angry because I felt it was lying. It is probably why I adore Alice in Wonderland more than the others. I still love Dark FairyTales but now it‘s just nostalgia -look what saved me. 3w

BookwormAHN I don't know, I read Anne Rice's Beauty novels as a teenager and they really freaked me out. Having said that Haunting Adeline is on my tbr. I think it just depends on the story and my mood 🤷🏼‍♀️ 3w

ravenlee I wonder if some of the appeal of reading this is that, at any point, you can put it down. It‘s a small power, but sometimes that‘s all you‘ve got. Maybe the glimpse into the male motivation validates something for some readers (largely the ones who think rape is about sex rather than power - I had someone explain rape fantasy to me as “making a man so wild he can‘t overcome his desire for me” 🤢). 3w

I don‘t mind a mutual chasing fantasy, where a couple who have developed a relationship and trust have this shared fantasy of chasing and catching and whatever… because it‘s mutual and it‘s a good time for all. I just don‘t understand rape fantasies, though. Just, gross. It seriously sounds like something a man made up and convinced some women they actually had. 3w

GingerAntics @TheBookHippie I like original fairytales too. They are more about teaching kids about life and reality than this Disney crap. I loved Disney movies as a kid, but mostly for the music. If it‘s a musical, I‘ll watch just about anything. lol 3w

TheBookHippie @ravenlee controlling the narrative is big. Rape is about power and control. So they are controlling at what they can take in is plausible. Uncontrollable desire is a myth. Insecure women fall for it everyday … 3w

Personally I can't read stories or watch movies with this kind of romance...well, too much gore or sex just gets annoying anyway...but painting this kind of sinister romance seems dangerous.

I like a good beauty and the beast story, there's a message there. There's more to a person besides their “good“ or “bad“ looks.

But respect and trust in a relationship should be things that are highlighted. 👇 2w

AnnCrystal I haven't read these titles, but I have had the opportunity to buy each of these books. Thankfully I researched beforehand or read the book's “warning.“

I have accidentally read books like these. If too terrible, they usually get donated, unfinished. Otherwise I skip along.

I feel that stories like these might make a young girl believe that this kind of disrespect is ok, natural, acceptable.

ElizaMarie So, I am behind on the #WildWomenReading, so I am going to answer this (but not using the current reading to guide my discussion). I have been stalked/beaten/tortured/sexually assaulted AND I have read these types of books (only Lights Out on this list). I don't know why I do. I don't know if its a feeling of control. Like I can read about these things, and be fully “safe“. I watch documentaries about DV, watch Law & Order SVU, podcast truecrime ⬇ 2w

ElizaMarie And yet, when I feel unsafe or triggered. I can use my coping skills, or totally avoid/DNF/quit the subject. I don't know if it's a test of my boundaries and my feelings of safety, or what it is. I am currently reading this one and am very much struggling with it. He is a stalker/user/rapist. I am more than likely going to DNF it. Some of these dark “romances“ are about stalking and/or coercion, but they try to pretend the woman finds it ⬇ (edited) 2w

ElizaMarie @AnnCrystal I agree with the concern of having young girls feel this type of male attention is “normal“ or should be “sought“. I, too, worry about what we teach children (both boys and girls) about consent, respect, kindness, and general human-ness.

I don't know how old. You are, but have you seen stories about how we as a society talked about women's bodies in the 90s? That was my teenage years and deeply ingrained into my psyche. 2w

That's true, we need to teach the boys too. We need to encourage these important teachings into our children daily lives.

For one of the books I accidentally read recently, I went researching about it after and saw a review from a young woman. She said it had been the very first book she ever read and believed that the abuse in the book was just how romance was, normal. 2w

AnnCrystal @ElizaMarie that review has really remain with me. The same reviewer stated that she has now read other books, and has come to realize her mistake. But her words spoke volume.

You're right. I believe so much more work needs to be done to educate our children on what a healthy relationship truly is...

Most of the books that seem easiest to run across are usually the ones showcasing abuse and bullying as romance. It enrages me that it seems so difficult to find romance stories that depict good, well structured relationships.

Truthfully, I'm not much of a romance reader, I prefer love stories to that are woven into the background of the main story events. 2w

The sentence before this refers to the way families of origin impact emotional health, then recognizes the way culture impacts mental health. The discussion around this is the source of many books. In this case the dark man is the entity that threatens our cultural health. What are ways we can create and strengthen our emotional energy when culture is ruled by a predator?

Where your generational trauma gets passed on, and then you get “water“ to dilute it and make it less of a trauma to pass on yourself. Do you recognize parts of yourself that can feel toxic but are actually also healthy and necessary?

GingerAntics My anger and my drive. Both can be toxic if I don‘t find a proper outlet for them, but when I do find a proper outlet, amazing things can happen. 3w

TheBookHippie My sheer will. Tenacity. I am not swayed. Immovable. No tact. And with @GingerAntics anger …my RAGE is misinterpreted constantly. Interestingly enough my love and loyalty are seen as threats. Allll could be toxic or viewed incorrectly. Everyday I wake up I chose -do I use all of this for good. 😶 3w

AmyG Absolutely. I tend to give people alot of “rope to hang themselves with”. Once I reach my limit with someone because of how they treat me or others….I am done. No more chances. I am quite rigid in that respect. 3w

ElizaMarie My compartmentalizm. I work as a psychiatric/mental health nurse. I engage with a challenging population and am not well-treated by most of my patients. I am able to remove myself from the nasty insults getting slung at me, do what needs to be done in the moment, and maintain my peace (which can be difficult). It turns into a problem when I do this way too much and build too strong walls. (But thats what therapy is for 🤍) 2w

Deblovestoread I really feel this quote. I feel like I have compartmentalized each section of my life based on that times trauma. My child self is one being raised by an angry mother whose words and hands struck out, my teenage rebel self who made horrible choices and so on. They each informed the next but also each lives in their little pocket if that makes sense. 3w

Hey #WildWomen - I haven‘t gotten into the discussions because my new copy (bigger print!) was stinky and needed airing out. I thought I‘d catch up this weekend, but I landed in the ER today for a few hours (tried to get a tattoo, now I have 3.5 octopus tentacles and that‘s it 😆 because I had a vagal seizure partway through) so my plans have…changed. I've been having a lot of trouble with the way this book is written (so. many. words.) so I picked up the abridged audiobook on Libby, with Estes telling some of the stories and explaining some of the concepts, and I found it much more accessible. I think sometimes storytelling and writing are two very different things. Figured I'd mention the audiobook in case others are having trouble with the book as I was. #womenwhorunwiththewolves

I alluded to this in a previous post, but the most lasting traditions in my family center around bedtime routines. We've tried a lot of things, but this one has stuck the longest. Since my younger kid was 2 or 3, we've been doing a bedtime routine we call "gratefuls, sorries, and intends" in which we go around and each list one thing from the day for which we're grateful, one thing for which we're sorry, and one thing we intend for the next day.⬇️

ImperfectCJ Over the past year, we've also been reading one entry from The Daily Stoic. When we have overnight guests, they join in. When the college kid comes home for breaks, they join back in. If someone's out of town, we'll often schedule calls for bedtime so we can keep the routine. I was interviewed about it for a local radio segment about how families were weathering the pandemic. We don't have many other traditions, but I'm grateful we have this one.

ImperfectCJ @lil1inblue My spouse and I were reflecting on the fact that, because we started doing the routine when he was so young, our son (now 16) likely has no concrete memories of bedtime without this routine. It's a humbling reminder of how parents shape their children's experience of life. I wonder how accurate this claim is, because I am almost 40, I‘ve hand many nightmares, night terrors, and nocturnal panic attacks (thanks Wil Wheaton for that term) in my life, but I have never had a dream like she describes. Maybe it‘s just me. She would have me believe it is, but I‘m curious about evidence for this.

lil1inblue I'm 45 and have had all the nightmares and terrors you describe. I've had some healing lucid-like dreams about specific people. But also never what she described in the book. But my terrors and nightmares started when I was 7 and are very much trauma related, so I wonder if that has something to do with it. 4w

Bookwomble The claim of universality is a red flag for me. Not even the actual universal experiences of birth and death are the same for everybody, much less dream experiences. She negates her claim by saying it would be "remarkable if..", not "impossible that...". I wouldn't vex yourself overly much about a crass generalisation. And, I'm bookending @lil1inblue 's virtual hug, if you wish to accept it ?❤️ 4w

Dreams themselves are semi archetypal- our brain uses information through a lens it feels connected to to process information. It does not make sense some of the time- and we do not always remember our dreams. I read the section just now but not the 4w

Chrissyreadit chapter so my information is through a somatic developmental lens. She is talking about how women process their sense of safety within themselves. A comprable dream is any one where you felt helpless. the goal of internal work is that the psyche develops the tools, support and information it needs to feel safe and confident. In the Estes lens she suggests that all women experience a dream where they feel helpless or thwarted or harmed- and by age 4w

Chrissyreadit 25 is roughly the developmental stage from dependence to independence (late adolescence to adulthood). Psychological developmental theory is that we all go through stages of development- Jungian theory has an emphasis on dream work to process it. The reality is we all dream- but we do not all understand or interpret dreams the same way. I would not consider it quite so literally- it is an archetype- rather recognizing that dreams in which you 4w

Chrissyreadit felt powerless were meant to help you identify and find your strength and use your fear to find safety. Trauma will completely impact dreams. The brain wants us to find paths of safety from literal danger compared to existential danger. Today we use Parts Theory- and those parts have archetypal meaning/identity. We use the stories we tell ourselves to support the decisions we make and are living in real time where false narratives are being accepted as true. I have not read enough of this book to offer an opinion on this work 3w

Chrissyreadit But the lens she is offering is meaningful because stories and the way we make sense of them are not only meaningful but still used today. Specifically consider how the Bible is used with both literal and figurative meanings and at times weaponized. 3w

TheBookHippie I think a point to mention here is something the departed Leslie Jordon would say about church”If it wasn‘t for me I just left it under the pew, because someone else must need to hear it. I just took what I needed for me.” In books like this that‘s true too. Use what speaks to you. Leave the rest for someone who needs it. Is she generalising -perhaps but there‘s some really good things in here that have helped countless people. That‘s wonderful. 3w

I get worried about people just relying on such when they have serious problems such as suicidal thoughts which do necessitate evidenced-based treatment . It‘s about women‘s empowerment, but somehow there is always a man to the rescue in the end and she‘s really stretching that to be “women‘s inner strength.” Yeah, I don‘t think anyone ever thought that before you, lady. 3w

Not every book is for every person and not every practice is either. Doesn‘t mean it‘s not valid. 3w

TheBookHippie @GingerAntics update copy probably helps the last third of my book has “proofs” I think it‘s this is one woman‘s theory of how to heal. Is there anything for me, or someone I know. I just leave it at that. Somethings in here have truly helped people and for that I am grateful. I‘m rereading it after decades and some of it I agree with some I think well that‘s not for me and I turn the page 🤣🙃😅. 3w

Not all therapies work for all people. I agree it is important to find what works for you. I don‘t believe in talk therapy, I do believe in ASMR -for myself. Talk therapy works for some. It‘s all nuance. Anytime anyone says this is the only way- there‘s a problem. 3w

I‘ve been writing original works since I was 7, so I feel like it‘s right up my alley and would make more sense for me. 3w

Chrissyreadit @GingerAntics @thebookhippie @lil1inblue just responding with a few thoughts in this thread- this is a book that is written through the lens of Jungian theory- it is not meant to be taken a therapy or applied as therapy. There is foundational value in all of the early theorists- the greatest difference is the why we perceive our live experience the way we do. The reality is that life is hard and culture as well as trauma all play a role- but this 3w

Chrissyreadit book is a way to understand how stories and narratives share common functions and how we hear and experience stories is impacted by our lives. Just take it for an analysis on commonalities in human conditions and one way to interpret/use and empower ourselves with stories. 3w

I believe that Somatic work is vital to our body and brain connection- and that if behavior change is needed understanding behavioral strategies that work for you (especially with ADHD) I am a fan of EMDR, and using narrative tools in therapy as well. I could go on for hours because this is my field but in the end my goal with this book is to potentially provide one more resource to 3w

I don‘t think I would call this “dead and dismembered aspect”of myself back because she lives in me.The summer after I turned 30,I was in a car accident that took me 5+ years to recover from-I still go to PT now. At that time I was single & living in Boston,so I needed to go back to my parents in CT for surgery.I gave up my job,my apartment, my social life.Surgery was successful in rescuing a damaged nerve,but was I left in severe chronic pain.⬇️

kspenmoll ⬆️ I was reduced to infancy. my mom massaged my drop foot nightly while we chatted. My dad spent his afternoons off watching a soap opera, General Hospital,( he was an MD so we laughed alot),when I recovered enough he held my arm while I took baby steps in our driveway.My mom and sister took me to the local pool helped me into my bathing suit so I could walk in the pool. Gifts from this experience: I met a woman who owned a needlepoint store.⬇️ 4w

kspenmoll ⬆️ she needed someone to spot her so she could go to lunch or take a break. I started working there in exchange for needlepoint canvases & yarn maybe twice a week for a couple of hours.My love for needlepoint started then.Another gift came much later when I could stand long enough to work in my dad‘s office.I had such fun with the staff & saw my dad in his professional capacity which was so special.While in the pool, a met a woman who also had⬇️ (edited) 4w

kspenmoll ⬆️Back surgery. We became lifelong friends, and I met my husband through her. Another gift: I was able to fly in a plane, lying down on 3 seats to visit my closest brother in Alaska. He my sister-in-law and my niece Lily, who was 6, drove all over Alaska with me lying down in the back of their Subaru. Lily & I remain close today because of those 6 weeks together. I was in a severely abusive relationship, which almost killed me (literally). Not only was this physically abusive, but it was also emotional (the lasting effects have lingered). I used to dance, my whole life, since childhood, (tap, jazz, flocorico, ballet, cheer) I danced, used to dance in our relationship, around the house, wiggle here, wiggle there, sing, play... He frequently told me I was too ugly, fat, and unworthy of enjoying my body ⬇️

ElizaMarie I slowly stopped at the point of quitting. Now, I am hesitant to dance. My husband is amazing, loving, and healing. He is playful, and I am safe. My head sometimes forgets this.

I used to make up jingles about whatever I was doing and I was always listening to music and singing.At some point in my 20s I was raped and shortly afterwards I ended up in an abusive relationship that lasted many years.I can't really remember anything that happened for some time after the relationship ended, there is a blank space, I remember things that happened to me, but as if someone had told me a story, not as if I had actually lived them⬇️

nanuska_153 Then I remember a time when I was reconstructing myself, trying to act the way I used to be, putting back the pieces together. But during this time there was silence, I wasn't singing or listening to music, not like I usually did as if there was a constant soundtrack to my life. I managed to get back the soundtrack of my life and the singing, but the ability to make jingles I never got back. ⬇️ 4w

nanuska_153 I miss being the kind of person that can just make a tune about cheese just because it's so tasty. The first time I heard my daughter making up a stupid song while we were playing I got so emotional I had to leave the room so she wouldn't get scared. I love her jingles so much ❤️ This chapter was very interesting to me, because I don't know if I reconstructed myself through singing, but I definitely had to reconstruct myself in order to sing. 4w

I was very fortunate to live right on the Pacific Ocean the year before and during my parent‘s separation and divorce. The ocean and I spent hours together. The ocean held all my tears, all my screams. Water is where I go to process, to heal and for solace.

I marked many passages, “bad wolf” stood out to me. The decal is on my car. Most whovians will recognize this. Rose stared into the heart of the TARDIS and absorbed the power of the time vortex, she becomes God like, omnipotent, she saves 🔽

Watching It‘s The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown when my kid gets home from trick or treating with hot chocolates and cozy pjs. I also always have a solo wrapping party sometime in December while the husband and child are out doing their shopping so I can watch Miracle on 34th Street in peace 😂.

I‘ve always wanted to take a solo vacation for a long weekend but have been afraid of being judged for it.

The Last Goodbye from Billy Boyd also makes me feel ALL the feelings along with Leaving Earth from Mass Effect 3. #wildwomenreading I loved how this chapter brings our awareness to the parts of us that we have buried. Some are better gone, and some we may mourn. Are there any parts of yourself that you mourn and perhaps can be revitalized?

This nightmare occurred again & again.I would usually seek my 5 1/2 yr old brother & his bed for solace & security.
I do remember some neighborhood boys would follow me-I would climb up a tree & they would chant “I declare I declare I see Kathy‘s underwear!”If my brother was nearby he would chase them away.Also around the same time a man in a car offered candy to kids in our neighborhood-told my mom who called the police & we were interviewed.

Chrissyreadit It sounds terrifying- but also empowering- you always awoke before the lion could. There is a lot of Jungian work to unpack there. Thank you for sharing all of this. And i hope recognizing your innate strength ❤️ 1mo

I agree with @Chrissyreadit about the Inner Strength.

While a sleeping lion can mean a variety of things according to different beliefs and other details of the dream and your personal life.

I like the notion that the sleeping lion may represent sleeping personal courage that rests within...asleep until needed.

dabbe To me, it's like the lion is your #wildwolf. You know it, are friendly with it, so much so that you sleep right beside it. Then the fear from others (society, parents, ...) yell at you to be afraid of it, and you run from the strength (the lion) that is within you. I see the lion as YOU, your wild self who wants to live in harmony with you. You'll find it again. I know it. 💛💜🧡 4w
