My favorite uptown girls are the ladies of Gossip Girl. I never finished the book series. Perhaps I'll do a reread and revisit them all over again.

Question: I have put a bunch of GG novels on hold for potential analysis with Edith Wharton. Very low stakes & I don‘t know if anything will come of it. The new covers look to be the most widely available at the library. I only ever read the first in high school. Quick skim seems to show text to be same but does anyone know of any Sweet Valley High-esque shenanigan text updates?

Not going to lie, when I first discovered the Gossip Girl books, I devoured them. I think I was probably in my late 20's/early 30's. These books made me want to sit on the steps of the Met and drink coffee and read a book (which I eventually did). I love NYC and can't wait to go again!

A fun guilty pleasure series (with a fun TV show, too.) I have them all but only read up to book 7. I need to revisit and complete the series.

panDefinitely not as good as the show this had made me reminiscing though, mostly on Blair‘s outfits which meant apparently for some reason when I was searching it on Pinterest I kept typing Gossip Gorl by accident so I had to know if there‘s a Gru meme and of course there is it‘s the internet 😂
This book is not great so far but I needed a quick, fun read and this is basically the only thing I could think of doing to stop me rewatching the show when I‘m already watching too many things 😰
pickAs a fan of the first couple seasons of the show it was fun to read this soapy book. A basic sort of trashy novel about the lives of the mostly spoiled teens on nyc‘s upper east side. Chuck comes off even creepier in the book if that‘s possible. S tries to return but has a harder time than she thought. Will be B and S reconcile...guess I‘ll have to keep reading. The girls in this book make Jessica Wakefield look like a saint! 😂😂 While it was interesting to ‘get away‘ to a different style of living, I don‘t think I‘ll be reading any more of the series. Maybe I‘ll catch and episode of the show on Netflix next...
Starting this one tonight after reading #PaperbackCrush. I think it would be really neat to try and read at least one book from each series mentioned in that book.

?Good for ppl who‘re wanting a trashy, non-sexually graphic read for wanton indulgence.
?Not for ppl who‘re wanting serious stories.
?Fast-paced.

About a bunch of über rich brats from NYC & their ridiculous drama. It‘s scandalous, salacious, hilarious, & a satirical delight.

so-soListened to my first audiobooks in what seemed like forever. My friend got a pretty bad concussion and can‘t read or look at screens for a while so we picked these two to entertain ourselves while she recuperated. All and all give both of these a 3/5⭐️ for how hilariously dramatic they were 🤣
so-soI was one those that watched gossip girl. I haven't seen every single episode but I did follow it for about two seasons (the last two). I thought it was an alright show so when I got the chance to buy this book at a dirt cheap price, I took it because books are mostly better. In this case it wasnt so or maybe its because I grew up. Whatever the reason, I didnt enjoy it as much. Shallow despicable characters I expected. But (contd below)
1) Black Panther or Infinity Wars which are pretty much the only movies I‘ve seen in 2018 (at a theater)
2) Food, couch, cuddles, movie/tv

4) This thing was sooo damn boring.

so-soAn unexpected pain while we were at Disneyland, gave me almost 6 hours alone with the 2 books I brought but didn't expect to read. This book has been on my shelves for years. Since before there was a Gossip Girl show on television. I know there are kids like this. I'm glad my high school experience was nothing like it. Quick read. Somewhat enjoyable.
