Really I‘d recommend any Jeeves (Wodehouse) book but this one worked for the #letterC

Much more amusing when read by Stephen Fry. I now understand why people love Wodehouse. His way with words is truly remarkable. Bertie Wooster strangely reminds me of our own canine Bertie. I did think I was naming him for Gilbert Blythe but I feel Bertie Wooster may be his true namesake.
This is a hilarious collection of short stories about Jeeves and Wooster. I especially liked the last one, which is narrated by Jeeves.
I throughly enjoyed this book. Very very funny and would 100% definitely recommend! I was also interested to find out that the search engine Ask Jeeves was based on this book!
I gave this book 5 out of 5 stars ✨

May's page tracker came out so happy!! May was a weird reading month for me. Things are finally slowing down at work and I am also finished helping my mom with a big (and emotional) project we have been completing all spring. Looking forward to June and July and some downtime before the orchard work starts in August!!
You just can't go wrong with Wodehouse. This is a delightful collection of Jeeves stories, with Bertie's narration for the win. These are formulaic, yes, but the formula works so perfectly that I never mind. Highlights in this one include the chapter title "The Rummy Affair of Old Biffy" and the final chapter, which is narrated by Jeeves rather than Wooster. Wodehouse truly is my favorite author & his books never fail to give me a lift. ⬇️
This is one of the busiest weekends of the year for the garden center industry, but since we focus on wholesale, most of our business is shipping stuff out this week - it's been insane!!! Hoping that between work & hanging shelves in our new closet (SO EXCITED THAT THE BEDROOM WILL NO LONGER BE THE CLOSET!) I'll still hit 700 pages this weekend!!

A relaxing read on this vacation. Dang, my 18 year old wants to talk to me. My blood pressure is rising. Jeeves, HEELLLPP!
Seriously, it was a fun book. #SeriesRead2021 @TheSpineView
June 2020 There were a few laugh out loud moments but not sure it was quite as funny as I had expected.
My first Wodehouse, a chance find at the library. At first I found it mildly amusing, but the more I read, the more I liked it. Wodehouse has a really funny way with words. Bertie is an idiot, but likeable. I had expected Jeeves to be the genius in the background, and was surprised that Bertie and everybody else asks for his help. When I returned the book, I found the dvds at the library and brought them home with me 🙂
It feels like that time... time for a little more Jeeves and Wooster! 😆

Such a witty and funny book. Had me in fits of histerics all the while I was listening to it. Probably made more than one person go: well she's a bit bunkers!
Definitely highly recommend! The best summary of this book is these two lines from it:
Jeeves: we must think sir
Bertie: you think. I haven't got the machinery!
Jeeves smiled paternally or rather,he had a kind of a paternal mascular spasm about the mouth which is the nearest he ever gets to smiling. #jeeves #pgwodehouse
Today‘s photo prompt for #LitsyClassics photo challenge was #series. This was the first thing that came to my mind! I know people have pretty strong opinions about these books. I haven‘t read them all but i did find it comical. Has anyone else read these? Thoughts?
“He floated noiselessly through the doorway like a healing zephyr. That impressed me from the start.... He had a grave, sympathetic face, as if he, too, knew what it was to sup with the lads.”
Wodehouse is such a clever writer and I love these completely preposterous situations Bernie and Jeeves get themselves into.
This was my third finished book for #24in48 and my first finished book for the #ReadHarder challenge.
#SeptemBowie #day5 #GoldenYears I'm a huge fan of the Golden Years crime genre. Some amazing authors write these books including Dame Agatha, P.G.Wodehouse,Carola Dunn,Nicola Upson,Kerry Greenwood,Sulari Gentill,Dashiell Hammett, P.D.James,Raymond Chandler & Ngaio Marsh, just to name a few! Some of my favourite novels were written by this amazing group of writers. Even now, years after her death, Dame Agatha remains a top selling author, worldwide.
#BookMail today is this short story collection which first introduces us to the character of Jeeves. I've always meant to read the Jeeves books but never gotten around to it, so when I saw this on special on book depository.com I had to buy it. I was compelled, really. Hubby?
I've been such a good bookworm.I haven't made an online order for a month(we'll just ignore the fairy loot, owlcrate & yachronicles subscriptions ok? Ok.)Then, I'm happily browsing Litsy, enjoying all the pretty posts and WHAM! @elkeo happened. All those pictures of packages & boxes on her doorstep, and then droolworthy new book pictures. What was I supposed to do?It was like a train wreck in slow-mo.You know I'm pointing the hubby your way right?
This is really fun, light British humor. Young gentleman of leisure Bertie Wooster seems to have an army of friends with hard-to-please aunts and uncles, or bridal troubles, and he always jumps to their rescue. That is, his butler, Jeeves comes up with the smart plan. Intelligently humorous, sometimes laugh-out loud, but the stories get repetitive and have no depth. ⭐⭐⭐⭐/5
I love the gentle yet decidedly British humor of this book. Genius.
I finished this delightful little book whilst waiting for my husband to come out of a movie (hence the weird table and lighting). He went to see a movie and I went to a dramatisation of Jane Eyre. He now wishes he'd joined me. 😊
The stories in this series featuring Jeeves the all-knowing valet and his clueless boss Wooster follow a predictable but highly amusing pattern that is so VERY English!
Highly recommended.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This book really is the bee's knees. 🐝

Bertie Wooster's nightmare house guest:
"He is a vegetarian and a teetotaller and is devoted to reading. Give him a nice book and he'll be quite contented."
Sounds like me!
??????????????
When really the last thing you need is another book.... you buy another book. That's how the saying goes, right? 😜I've been wanting to try reading some PG Wodehouse and I finally found one of his books at my local used bookstore ❤️💚💛❤️💚💛❤️
These stories are a great way to unwind at the end of a long day. Sure it harks back to a time where class was truly enshrined and rarely challenged, but it is a joy to watch Jeeves cleverly manipulate every situation to suit his own preferences. It made me smile so much. And great to read a couple of stories in between some darker books.
In this one, Jeeves first comes into Bertie's employment, and quickly saves him from an ill-matched engagement. Follows the usual pattern, entertaining as ever. Love that the final story is from Jeeves perspective so the reader can see how he works his magic. #dadsreadinglist #mourning

Thoroughly enjoying this Jeeves book. This book has the initial meeting between Bertie and Jeeves and sets up the outlines that all the stories follow. Jeeves dislikes Bertie's clothing selection, solves Bertie's problem, Bertie gives in re clothes. #somethingforsept #bookanddrink a bit delayed but still. Coffe and Jeeves, should really be tea or liquor.
