Day 290.
Here I will note 365 books (or as many as I will have before I get tired) that have shaped my taste in literature. No explanations, no reviews. Just the cover of the book.
I do not challenge anyone. You are all welcome to take part.
Took so long to finish but I was constantly mentally comparing and contrasting the book with the movie. It was good but too much sometimes. The whole story is creepy as hell, based on real life monsters. Good writing. I'm interested in more Thomas Harris but not anytime soon.

Such a creepy book and movie that takes place in a #Prison
Gruesome. Descriptive. Eerie. Mysterious. Chilling.
The plot was intriguing, the characters were developed well, the POV switches were done well so we get different information. I liked Hannibal and Clarices weird relationship. I also liked how similar the movie is to the book.
"Problem solving is hunting: it is savage pleasure and we are born to it."
Really really enjoyed this book. So ahead of its time with such a strong female lead. I remembered the film being good, but the characterisation in the book is even more powerful. Excellent thriller.
The Silence of the Lambs is one of my all-time favorite movies. It‘s a masterpiece in my personal opinion. People like Hannibal Lecter are way scarier to me than most supernatural horror movies because they‘re so disturbingly real. I finally bit the bullet and started the book series. Red Dragon was great. This book was hard to put down, but through most of it I was thinking it‘s one of those rare instances where the movie is slightly better ⬇️
Stolen from the internet
if you're someone who enjoys criminal minds, this book is like the best episode of Criminal Minds on crack that you'll ever see, and then made better because it's in writing. Being able to read the perspectives of so many other characters really filled in the story from the movie, so it was still a worthwhile experience even when having seen the film beforehand.
Sorry, only just seen this challenge!
Day 1: Character who #murders - haven't read the books/seen the movies or tv shows but wanted to avoid spoilers if I could! 😂
#maycharacters @Eggs @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks
While a bit obviously dated and sometimes written harriedly in an attempt to communicate panic, this book is a good example of successfully building suspense and shifting perspectives. Was surprised that the book took care to emphasize that the villain was not trans, when the movie only had one offhand line.
"I'm not sure you get wiser as you get older, Starling, but you do learn to dodge a certain amount of hell..."

#20in4readathon update: still plugging along in the tagged book.
I like Thomas Harris as a writer, he uses some turns of phrases I haven't encountered before. I'm struck by the rapport between these characters in the FBI. I also like Clarice Starling very much as a character. I liked her in the movie as well; Jodie Foster portrayed her well. But when reading the book, I don't necessarily see Foster.

Making good progress in the tagged book. It's creepy af, just like I expected. I've seen the movie a few times and I like drawing comparisons between books and films.
Yes, that's my child playing with a hairdryer. And yes, I'm watching him like a hawk 😂

My first time read of this and I've never seen the movie, shocking I know! 😝
The plot and characters are awesome.
It‘s one of the darkest and fascinating thrillers I‘ve ever read.
Now to watch the adaptation. 🤟

Definitely enjoyable. I had watched the movie a bajillion times before actually reading the book so I was pleased that it wasn‘t awfully different.
Thank you for my #creepychristmas package @DinoMom I cannot wait to get started on the books and I LOVE my ghostface ornament so much! I‘m afraid the chocolate didn‘t survive as far as the photo session....
@teebe
So creepy, and yet such an interesting read. Buffalo Bill is an iconic villain that inspires chills down the spine. I got really sucked in rooting for Jack Crawford and Clarice Starling on team FBI.
One of the best moment of your life that never through out from your life i.e.,best moment which spent with your friend, family, and many other relationship.because you innocent about those moment which never forget.Be happy and carefull of your family, friend and about another relationship.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I already knew the story to this one from the film, but that did not prepare me to how terrifying the book is, words and imagination providing pure horror. I especially enjoyed the foreword in which Thomas Harris tells of real life inspiration for Dr Hannibal Lecter. #Scarathlon2020 #TeamSlaughter 15pts + 1pt
Adding to my horror movie repertoire for this month. Love love love it, and it‘s my roommates first time watching 😂 some more points for #teamharkness #scarathon2020 @StayCurious

It was fascinating to read The anniversary edition. Just to hear a little bit about how Thomas Harris got part of his inspiration for Hannibal Lecter was really interesting. I had only seen the movie prior to readIng thIs, and I got to understand quite a bit more about the charchters and their backstories as well. After back to back Hanbibal Lecter books though, I think it wise to read something else next before I go for Hannibal.
I love the character of Hannibal Lecter. He is simply one of the best bad guys in the literary world. What I didn't like was all the sexism and prejudices against trans individuals. I liked the plot and it was like a history story with all the old equipment they were using to solve the crime. In this case I don't know which is better book or the movie. Anthony Hopkins is simply perfect as Hannibal Lecter.
Started listening to this. The beginning feels sooo good! I just loved the movie and I can't believe how long I've had this book on my shelf unread. 🤓😍
I liked the book. It was scary and interesting and i wanted to read as much as i could to find out what would happen. I did find it difficult to read so it took me a long time but I really enjoyed it.
I enjoyed this one a lot more than Red Dragon.
The thing I enjoy most is that the FBI and police is really ignorant about the killer.
A lot of times authors seem to miss that the protagonist doesn't have to know everything about the killer.

Two books for the price of one. ?. All they asked for was a donation of Q9. And it looks in new condition. Can‘t complain. #coffee. #ThomasHarris. #thriller #thesilenceofthelambs
I know he's a sadistic murderer, but I just can't help but really love the character of Hannibal Lecter. I'm not quite sure what that says about me... 😂

Happy Halloween! 🎃🧡 I bought those giant bags of Costco candy for my students, but I had to pick out all of the candies with allergens, which ended up being more than I expected. 😂 I don't get trick or treaters, so I'm just going to hole up with a scary book, Chinese food & try to limit my chocolate intake. 😋
What's your favorite Halloween candy? 🍫🍬
There is nothing better than coming home from work to find one of your favourite movies on!
I will never not watch this

Review of the last book of my #Scareathlon #TeamSlaughter playlist and I picked a great book to go out on a bang with. I love the movie & I thought I‘d read this before, but I realised I‘d only read Red Dragon & Hannibal but skipped this for some reason. This is everything a thriller should be, it‘s fast, aggressive, disturbing & very clever. It‘s not perfect at all, but it‘s a great read. Perfect end to the #readathon 11points #PointsTotal-2,128
#ChillingPhotoChallenge #day24 #Thriller This story is a thriller in both print and onscreen. I‘m just about to finish the novel, plus I rewatched the movie last night, and I have to say it‘s a rare movie that almost follows the book word for word. The dialogue in both is fantastic, both Jodi Foster & Anthony Hopkins really did justice to the book characters. #Scarathlon #TeamSlaughter 1point #PointsTotal-1,910
One more off my #ScaryMovie #Scarathlon #TeamSlaughter playlist. One of my favourite Anthony Hopkins & Jodi Foster movies, both individually & together. I‘d say everyone knows about Hannibal the Cannibal by now(I ate liver with some fava beans & a nice Chianti. Fttllfttll.) I‘m now reading the book in print for the 1st time, hoping to finish in time for Halloween. 4points #PointsTotal-1,711
