Happy Halloween! 🎃🧡 I bought those giant bags of Costco candy for my students, but I had to pick out all of the candies with allergens, which ended up being more than I expected. 😂 I don't get trick or treaters, so I'm just going to hole up with a scary book, Chinese food & try to limit my chocolate intake. 😋
What's your favorite Halloween candy? 🍫🍬
Review of the last book of my #Scareathlon #TeamSlaughter playlist and I picked a great book to go out on a bang with. I love the movie & I thought I‘d read this before, but I realised I‘d only read Red Dragon & Hannibal but skipped this for some reason. This is everything a thriller should be, it‘s fast, aggressive, disturbing & very clever. It‘s not perfect at all, but it‘s a great read. Perfect end to the #readathon 11points #PointsTotal-2,128
#ChillingPhotoChallenge #day24 #Thriller This story is a thriller in both print and onscreen. I‘m just about to finish the novel, plus I rewatched the movie last night, and I have to say it‘s a rare movie that almost follows the book word for word. The dialogue in both is fantastic, both Jodi Foster & Anthony Hopkins really did justice to the book characters. #Scarathlon #TeamSlaughter 1point #PointsTotal-1,910
One more off my #ScaryMovie #Scarathlon #TeamSlaughter playlist. One of my favourite Anthony Hopkins & Jodi Foster movies, both individually & together. I‘d say everyone knows about Hannibal the Cannibal by now(I ate liver with some fava beans & a nice Chianti. Fttllfttll.) I‘m now reading the book in print for the 1st time, hoping to finish in time for Halloween. 4points #PointsTotal-1,711
My nanna nap hasn‘t happened coz after a 33C(92F)day,a very loud storm hit which put the kibosh on my sleep. Hopefully once it‘s gone🤞Till then,I‘ll kick off my #libraryhaul with this classic thriller from Thomas Harris.I have Hannibal & I used to own Red Dragon till it got stolen, but I‘ve never had a copy of this. It‘s perfect for my #Scareathlon #TeamSlaughter theme for the #24B4Monday #readathon & #Deweys24hrReadathon 1point #PointsTotal-1,124
Even though The Silence of the Lambs is well known, reading this psychological thriller today still manages to disturb, distress, and excite. Clarice Starling, FBI agent in training, pursues serial killer Buffalo Bill with the help of infamous cannibal Hannibal Lector. Tense and heart pounding!
Again I read this in boarding school where there was no net access. I imagined Hannibal as a handsome, tall, dark man with curly locks and the most mesmerising eyes...I fell in love, but when I got home and clicked the movie I was disappointed. We should leave books for imagination. But the book was amazing. Theres always a lot of details in books that's missed out in movies.
My cat apparently likes to lay up on top of the bookcase next to my chair and fall asleep. He always looks so cute and dramatic draping himself over the books in the process. 😻 #damnfinecooper #catsoflitsy
The lady who did my phone interview for the Connecticut job was named Clarice. Let's just say when you're being questioned by someone with that name, it's really hard to not quote Hannibal... 😂
🦋A very dark & twisted psychological crime thriller.
🦋Clarice‘s bluntness w/Lecter was refreshing when compared to typical coy women cops.
🦋Lecter‘s brilliant observation & perception made whole book addicting.
🦋Wish there were more scenes w/Lecter.
🦋Buffalo Bill is plain & predictable character.
🦋Not scary at all.
🦋Slow & boring at various points.
🦋Buffalo Bill‘s POV chaps. ruined the suspense/intrigue for me.
1) Silence of the Lambs is pretty high up on the list. Actually, any of that series scared the hell out of me.
2) I don‘t watch many horror flicks (because I am a total weenie) but I watched The Ring when it came out and spent a lot of time covering my eyes.
3) I had a stalker in college. For WEEKS. It could have been so much worse, but it got so I was afraid to leave my dorm alone.
4) @MiyakoBunny @Librarybelle
I‘m so glad I finally took this off my bookshelf and started reading it. It doesn‘t take long at all to “get going” and Dr. Lecter... I wouldn‘t say it‘s a crush, but there‘s something about him that just draws you in. I‘m not that far in (only page 62) and I plan on getting some reading done this evening.
Congratulations @TricksyTails on your 666 souls 😈

My selection for #RatBastardsNeedLoveToo is the one & only Hannibal Lecter. He is twisted & evil yet so witty he can make you laugh at times. Loved the books & Anthony Hopkins will always be my fave version of Hannibal.
