Apparently I got the audiobook ARC….🤭😄
I enjoyed this light holiday story of Vivian and Malcolm, in their 50s, who happened to meet when Vivian accompanied her daughter Maddie to England at Christmas. But when Vivian has to return to California, will she and Malcolm be able to make things work?

I‘m behind on posts so should have a bunch today 🤣. I REALLY wanted to love this one! Having an older main character in a romance was something I hadn‘t read before and I adored it! But at the same time I expected there wouldn‘t be as much miscommunication…I assumed the characters would just speak their mind and ask questions like a mature adult 🤦🏼♀️. I‘m not a fan of miscommunication so this made it less enjoyable. But not bad overall. 🌟🌟🌟

On my kindle but don‘t think I will get to it this year.

First book of #wintergames finished. Cute hallmark vibe book with an older MC love story. I‘m also a sucker for regal anything. Love knows no bounds.

#Wintergames photo and ornament hunt, Day 2! My parents and in laws get us and my children each an ornament every year; because of this we have two trees. One is our “personal tree” with the collection of ornaments from every year and our real Christmas tree for Santa! 🎄🐧🐨🎅🏼

Thanks for the tag. Favorite thing about winter - the holidays we get to celebrate from all over the world.
My favorite winter book is Royal Holiday. Nothing like a romance in the UK during winter.
Yesterday‘s #WinterReadathonDailyChallenge was to share your favorite non-seasonal book and favorite seasonal book from the #WinterReadathon.
These were both entertaining in different ways.
Sorry for the delay in posting; life has been difficult with some health issues for both me and my partner.
Thank you so much Jenny! I love all of it and have been enjoying the colouring book and pencils - they're beautiful. I can't wait to get stuck into the books, but the chocolate has already been eaten!

Rereading this delightful book. I tried to draw Vivian and Malcolm from the cover. It‘s not perfect, but not bad for someone who hasn‘t taken an art class since middle school! 😂
This was my first read from Jasmine Guillory and won't be my last. Reading this book was like reading a hallmark script. Very cute holiday romance between characters over 50 which I appreciated. I found myself a little bored throughout the story, but still think it's a solid 3-4 ⭐️ read.
I read this from my #TBRWrappedUp shelf where I wrapped 22 books off my TBR that I had been overlooking in order to unwrap them and work my way through the pile.
The next book from my #TBRWrappedUp challenge. I have a few Jasmine Guillory books on my shelf but this is the first one I've actually started. I didn't realize that we'd be following a heroine over 50 and I'm so glad we are. It's been a fun story so far for the holiday season.
I really enjoy Guillory‘s books. She writes practical and real heroines that are over the age of 25. I especially enjoyed this one because the heroine & hero are in their early 50, which gives me hope that I still have a chance at a HEA.
Book 8 for #winterreadathon

This was my first Jasmine Guillory book. It was nice to read a romance about a couple in their 50s. They had great communication, were so mature, no drama, it was great.
I‘m using this for #pop22 - set during a holiday - They celebrate Christmas, Christmas Eve and New Years Eve.
I‘m going on a work trip down to Raleigh (Durham), NC this week. Here‘s all the books I currently have downloaded to my Kindle or on audio.
Getting into all the winter reads already!

Couple meets: love at first sight. They enjoy spending time together and are in love and everything is perfect. There wasn't a whole lot of character development or story development. But, this is a very light hearted and easy holiday read. As the story grew, the couple's love grew. It was a great feel-good for the holidays, especially if you need something light while you are preoccupied with holiday gatherings
Another one I read for book club and it was a fun christmas time read. She has a fun way of approaching romance in a less predictable but still sweet and fun way.
This was a fun book for the holidays! @StayCurious #teamgamesleighers #bookspinbingo @TheAromaofBooks
Finished book 1 of #wintergames2021! It had word search words in it 41 times and it took me 5.5 hrs. I‘ll tally the readathons in the spreadsheet- too much back and forth to figure it out for here!
In unrelated news, this is my post for the #festivephotochallenge, too, haha, showing off the red and white of one of the many hand lotions I keep around bc winter is hard on hands!!

Starting my first book for #Wintergames2021! It should have lots of words from the word search 🤨 and the cover is perfect for day 1 of the #festivephotochallenge, red and green everywhere!
So far so good, this is a very soothing romance with two lovely older protagonists and a luxurious stay in the English countryside 🎄
#mistletoemaniacs @Clwojick
Not my complete December list cause I need to finish my #bookspinbingo but my holiday reads for #teamgamesleighers @StayCurious
Loving this story and that it‘s not a romance about young love but that the characters are in their 50s and therefore tackling everyday problems. @DeweysReadathon #Deweys24hourreversereadathon
I don‘t think it‘s the strongest in Guillory‘s series, but I like that the protagonists are in their 50s. The shift from Sandringham to London seemed to change the characters in ways that didn‘t make sense, but over all it‘s a nice love story.
Well, my Christmas gift card to BN lasted until...January 5th. Amazon is lasting longer, but then technically it‘s for the kiddo so...maybe a little while yet.
Anybody else?
Royal Holiday is a sweet, romantic, joyous romp, full of happiness and appreciation and heart. This will definitely get you in the Holiday spirit and if you‘re a huge London fan, then there‘s really nothing to complain about.

“Vivian couldn‘t decide what appealed to her more, hot coffee and fresh scones, or the man in the corner who looked like a tall mug of hot chocolate.”

It‘s been a very long time since I‘ve read an adult romance. I still prefer YA, but this was a light, fluffy, enjoyable read for winter break.

Got a bunch of posts to catch up on today! So buckle up.lol
I found this fun, but probably not super memorable. I do love that Jasmine Guillory always has more going on in her plots than just a romance. I also found it very interesting that the main character was in her 50s. Not something we typically see from a romance
Somewhere between a pic and a so-so
⭐️⭐️⭐️ This was my first time reading Guillory, but I see why she‘s beloved. Two unlikely 40-50 somethings fall for each other during a whirlwind vacation. It‘s a very sweet, predictable story, like a Hallmark movie on the page. A nice little holiday escape. Cute cover!
I‘ve been eying this one myself as it keeps popping in overdrive for me! #12coloursofdecember #wintergames2020 #readnosedreindeer @StayCurious
Christmas stories are not diverse. I finally found it in Jasmine Guillory‘s Royal Holiday. Honestly, this is probably one of my favorite rom-commy books I‘ve ever read. It's definitely well crafted and thought out because of its honesty, commitment to real life, and creating believable, interesting characters who I don‘t want to punch.

Finished Christmas stories from my last post + The Fir Tree by Hans Christian Andersen (3🌟) + tagged holiday book (4🌟)
Watched the pictured Christmas classics with the family + Merry Happy Whatever (all 8 episodes) + 3 episodes of Sugar Rush Christmas + I watched the final episode of Dash + Lily & Axton was interested so we watched the whole thing again from the beginning!
A lovely Holiday romance! Vivian takes a trip to England, thanks to her daughter Maddie's job, and gets a private tour from Malcolm, who works for the Queen. Sparks fly between the older adults, but will this be a Christmas fling or something more? I loved their relationship, and felt that Guillory did justice to middle aged love. Perfection! #WinterGames2020 #MerryReaders #HolidayRead @Clwojick
Romance books are not my thing but this was a cute and quick story. We are in lockdown in San Diego (& my husband‘s a Doctor/scientist, he‘s been pretty adamant about us staying home) so I‘ve been able to do more reading. 26 points and one more book off my bingo board #merryreaders #christmasgames2020 #bookspinbingo
I really enjoyed Royal Holiday, and I made progress in Last Call and Christmas at the Little Knitting Box. Went to bed early because work is exhausting. We fluffed and decorated 37 mini Christmas trees to give to residents next week, all in addition to our other duties. 2020 has been nuts, but I know the residents will really like them. :)

Borrowed this from the library a bit early to make sure I didn‘t miss out altogether. Fourth in the series. This time one of the moms in this delightful circle of friends gets her turn for romance. I was rooting for these likable characters from start to finish.
The fourth book in this series is charming - Maddie‘s mom, Vivian, heads to London with Maddie for work with a certain American royal and meets the Queen‘s dashing personal secretary. London and Christmas, and with a more mature couple. This one seemed shorter, but it was just as sweet.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Guillory knows how to write a really enjoyable romance. This one felt lighter, and definitely less spicy, than the others in the series, but the premise was so fun, & it was a good change to have main characters in their 50s.
Guillory remains a must-read for me.
A fun, fast read full of good humor and hope for the older set looking for love! I really enjoyed it.
