I‘m not really sure what it was about this book… there wasn‘t any content I disliked, but by the time I got halfway through I was just bored. Just didn‘t work for me.

New book set. Anyone read these? What do you think? Please
I listened to the entire book at work yesterday. Very enjoyable series I plan to continue the series. Maybe I can finish book 2 during my next overnight shift.
I fancy trying The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel Series next year. Has anyone read them? Would you recommend them?

I read this as a child, and the last few weeks I kept thinking about the idea of aura's and their color and smell, so I had to read this again. As a childrens book I like it, although the time period in which the amount of things happen is quite artificial. But I really enjoyed the reading and am excited for the rest of the series. I'm also very much enjoying the mythological references!
The first half of this was such a slog. I kept going, though, because Scott did need to lay out the historical/mythical background. It picked up in the second half so I'm going to continue with the series but I'm not going to be devouring all six in a matter of days.
Finally getting around to reading this one and what happens… I double tap the page to turn it. Ugh 😑

So we found a new FLL that was filled with books. I ended up getting 4 different ones... 3 for me and 1 for my little guy.

4✨I was able to finish it in May... barely. Either way this was a fun book I was gifted. Not knowing anything about it, but @CatVall85 knowing my reading taste, I was excited. This had a lot of fun stuff: vampires that don‘t drink blood, twins that can save or destroy the world, edge of your seat adventure, and so much more.
Put away Harry Potter and bring this series into your reading life! Sophie and Josh are twins and become involved in the storied true/fictional life of Nicholas Flamel. Witches, magic, mythology, it‘s all here in a great read. A 4th grader in my class suggested I read this and it‘s good! I will read all of them.
I loved this book. It is so well researched and it combines a lot of mythology in such a great way! It is a great story and I can‘t wait to read the next one.
Couldn‘t do it, sorry. I actually made it to 53%, switched to another book and now can‘t stand the idea of going back to this one. Borrowed it looking for a fun, easy audiobook but I couldn‘t get invested at all in the story or the characters. One more for #teamharness at least. #scarathlon2020 #screamathon
This Potterverse novel follows twins in current day San Fran as they are suddenly launched into a magical battle and learn things about themselves they would never have guessed. While it‘s a fun, quick read, I found it too derivative and a bit smug. It‘s also overly fantastical for me, though that‘s me and not the book. I think this could be a fun series for the right reader.

#2 The Alchemist is about teenagers Josh and Sophie Newman, as they find out the owner of the book shop Josh works at is not at all what he seems. Nicholas Flamel is an immortal alchemist/magician from the medieval ages. His bookshop is attacked by Dr. John Dee, as he steals the book of Abraham the Mage (the source of Mr. Flamel's Immortality) in an attempt to bring back an evil race known as the Dark Elders. In a race against the clock, They must
Not a bad read. I wish I had paid attention when buying this one and one of the sequels though because I didn‘t buy the correct one that directly follows but that‘s okay cause I can always check the library. 🙃🤦♀️

This book definitely has a good example of siblings with a healthy amount of rivalry and love 😁
Despite the fact that this book does not tie in with Harry Potter, it is still a fascinating, exciting, and engaging story about a magician, a magical book, twins, and an epic battle. Written for a younger audience, it was still thoroughly enjoyable, and ended in a way that makes me want to continue with the next one. #recentlyread #nospoilers #youngadult #fantasyfiction #magic #alchemy ❤️
Having an exceptionally slow morning at work... When I moved to my new department, I knew that there would be down time. I am thankful for that, because I was very stressed out before, but somehow I feel a little guilty... Hopefully, reading a book will help pass the time. #currentlyreading #bookandtea #fantasyfiction 😬📖⌚🤞
Came home sick today and started reading The Alchemyst. Now I can't put it down! #thealchemyst #alchemy #youngadult #teen
It took me just a week to read all six books of this series; I couldn't put it down! Michael Scott is a talented writer. I love how he brought myths to life in modern times. I equally love how he brought several well-known people from history back to life. The tale is riveting.
This adventure series follows twins Sophie and Josh, who discover they are the Twins of Legend, who can save the world from The Prophesy. They partner with Nicholas and Pernelle Flamel, the famous alchemyst and sorceress, both 700 years old and protectors of The Book of Abraham the Mage. Their adventures take them around the globe, to other dimensions, and connect them with mythological and historical figures. #YAWednesday @TheFunkyBookworm
“Josh was ordinary. But ordinary teens did not find themselves in the middle of a battle between two incredibly ancient magicians.” #reread #anoldfavorite
Bought it for the Cover. Its was a short and easy read. Part of a series but I doubt that I will read the rest. The covers are really beautiful and interesting.
The Secrets of The Immortal Nicholas Flamel Series is full of #TravelsAndAdventures ✈️ #RIOTGRAMS
#BookNerd 📚💙
I really enjoyed this book and look forward to reading the rest in the series. Was so hard to put down wanted to see what was going to happen! And I felt it was made more interesting that he actually used real people who have lived a long time ago made it much more interesting
This was a fun read! Lots of "Come to the dark side" and Percy Jackson vibes. I'll def pick up the sequel
I'm so excited for this book! Nicholas Flamel!
This book is packed with action, but for some reason it felt like it was moving slowly. I enjoyed the different take on the ancient gods and the personality each had. Hopefully the rest of the series reads better.
I love this book even more after reading it a second time. The story arc of the entire series is coming back to me, and I can't wait to read the second book now.
“You‘re lucky. A couple of centuries ago, I probably would have killed you. I used to have a bit of a temper,” she admitted, “but I‘ve been working on my self-control.”
Oh my god, Scatty is definitely my spirit animal. The wild red hair doesn‘t hurt either!!! ❤️❤️❤️ #gingerlove #gingerpower #thealchemyst #michaelscott #secretsoftheimmortalnicholasflamel #scatty #favouritecharacters
I know it‘s kind of cliché in fantasy novels, but give me a GOOD prophecy any day!!! #thealchemyst #michaelscott #secretsoftheimmortalnicholasflamel #twothatareone #twins #silverandgold #moonandsun
I loved this series the first time I read it. I‘m so excited to read it again. #alchemyst #immortalNicholasFlamel #secretsoftheimmortalnicholasflamel #michaelscott #irishauthors #fantasy #bookone
I just love this beginning. I love this series. #alchemyst #immortalNicholasFlamel #secretsoftheimmortalnicholasflamel #michaelscott #irishauthors #fantasy #bookone
After a long week and not much reading, it's now time to settle down and celebrate #fridayreads.
I expected a lot from this book (I do have the whole series already!). It was just okay, it was a bit Percy Jackson but a lot more dragging. It was not that exciting. The battle at Hekate's Shadowrealm was lacking. I love the plot but not just how it was executed.
