I love India Rose Crawford‘s Frog and Toad pictures so very much!!

TIL that my hometown was “born” on a Leap Day. So, even though Worcester is technically 176 years old, it‘s actually only 43. That must be why everyone I know from home looks younger than their years (myself included 💁♀️).
I also learned that years divisible by 100 but not 400 are skipped (to make up for decimals of time).
AND that (unlike frogs) toads don‘t have webbed feet. Just FYI. 🐸😅
Happy Leap Year!

Friends...and possibly gay couple? There's certainly journalism/scholarship around it. I support the subtext! It just makes their adventures more charming. Love the simple silly moments, the lovely art style. Had no idea I started reading this series out of order. Definitely going to keep going!

A cute collection that demonstrates how to be a best friend, a good friend.

This book provides short and easy to read chapters. This would be a great book to introduce still early learners to a chapter book just so they can start to grasp what a chapter book is.

Such a simple and fun book to read! I enjoyed it.
Published in 1970, Frog and Toad Are Friends is about Frog and Toad going on different adventures and running into different problems in each story and finding ways to fix them. I would like this book in my classroom for students to be able to look at in their free time and read on their own.
Award for book:
Caldecott Honor Book
“The whole world is covered in buttons and not one of them is mine!” Toad yelled after getting frustrated. He is a drama queen (just like me) so I love this reaction, but it‘s a nice way to show that something can look like the end of the world, but everything will work out in the end.
This book would be good for a read aloud in younger ages and would be great beginners reading levels for a bit older. The print is large enough and sentences are short enough for it to be a learning book, but also challenging enough to push the reader a bit further. The stories are also funny and silly, but show themes that are important for socialization development.
Frog and Toad Are Friends by Arnold Lobel 1970. This book includes 5 stories of Frog and Toad going on adventures together. In these stories, there are lots of lessons, a lot centered around friendship. Frog and Toad help each other with problems and solutions. Each stories has a different life lesson. Caldecott

This brings back so many fond memories from my own childhood! It‘s been translated into many languages (I‘ve used it myself in foreign language lessons), and won many awards. It‘s also been challenged in America as promoting laziness. I think I got the opposite moral from these little friends, but Maybe anything that‘s been famous for 50 years is bound to be criticized 🤷🏻♀️ #BBRCEasyReaderICanRead @LibrarianRyan

June 13 #BigJunePhotoChallenge "friends/strangers" This is one of my favorite kids book @Clwojick

Who remembers Frog and Toad? One of my students asked me to read this aloud today. Boy it brought back memories of my own reading of it as a kid and then reading it to my sons. Good times!

My kids are loving these stories as much as I did when I was little, although I find myself relating a little too much with Toad! 🤣🤣

Look at the amazing things I got from The Dog Eared Book today! 😍 I was extremely fortunate to successfully claim one of the limited commemorative edition and tote sets! Or, “toad bag,” which is printed on the back of it. 😂
My very first subscription box was the “I Can Read” box with books like the Frog and Toad, Little Bear, and Danny and the Dinosaur! Did you get those boxes as a

I was very excited to read this book because it was a Caldecott winner, however after reading it I‘m surprised it was even nominated. I thought the book was lacking a lot. The moral of the story was the best part, but I would never use this content in my class. I was disappointed, unfortunately. #UCF3414SP20

This Caldecott winner is perfect for any child! “Frog and Toad Are Friends” is a great F book for ID or a RA. This was one of the many books that I‘ve enjoyed while growing up. It got me thinking about where I would be in life and the friends that I would make. This book is a definite must add to your classroom library! I guarantee every child will enjoy it! It explores the many aspects of friendship, which can be a big part of a child‘s life.

“Frog and Toad Are Friends”, F, is by Arnold Lobel and is a Caldecott Honor book. This book can be adapted for Reader‘s Theatre or can be used as a Read Aloud. This is a collection of five short stories that follow Frog and his best friend Toad. Frog is excited for Spring and to have new adventures with Toad but when he goes to visit his friend, Toad doesn‘t want to wake up from his winter nap!

1. The tagged book is the first one I begged my parents to get me at a store.
2. Iran hostage crisis & the Challenger explosion
3. Orange juice & chicken & stars soup
4. How about a big hello & welcome to my most recent follower @cathipink 📚🍾🎉🙌

“I will be too tired, I'm going back to bed.“ I relate to this quote said by Toad ALOT.
I would include this book in a first or second grade classroom where kids are really getting the hang of reading. Because of the simple language used in the book, it's a great starter book!
“Frog and Toad are Friends“ by Arnold Lobel, 1970. Traditional literature. I used to read the Frog and Toad books all the time when I was younger! I love the friendship Frog and Toad have and think they lead a great example for children on how to treat their friends. The plot is very simple so kids can get the message.

“Toad looked at the calendar. The May page was on top”
I would read this book to 1st and 2nd graders. Its a simple book for them to hear and read. These two grades will enjoy the storyline of friendships.

This book is traditional literature. It‘s a great story showing a friendship. It‘s important students get to see good friendships so they know how to treat their friends. The plot of this book is very direct for kids to listen to. Great book for kids to read because it is so simple.

Frog and Toad are the best. Hilarious and brilliant and dry and sarcastic and caring. No better easy readers out there.

This animal fantasy picture book is a great story about friendship. Frog and Toad help each other as friends do through out the book. Frog helps wake sleepy Toad and Toad helps frog feel better when he's sick. This book highlights the importance of friendship. #ucflae3414su19 This book would best be taught as a read aloud.

This Caldecott Honor recipient is a MF book that is a collection of short stories. They would make for a great RT! I really enjoyed Spring and The Letter but each story would make a great RT for small groups. In Spring, Frog tricks Toad into waking up to spend time with him after a long hibernation with a clever calendar trick. The Letter portrays a great friendship where Frog cheers up Toads “sad time of day” and gives a new meaning to snail mail

We have a delightful audio version of this book (read by the author) and my daughter loves following along with the hard copy. Start them young!

Frog and Toad Are Friends (a Caldecott Honor) is one of the many classic “I Can Read” F books that Arnold Lobel wrote and illustrated during his lifetime. The tale of these two best friends, described throughout the multiple stories within, bring so much joy to beginner readers. I can guarantee no matter your age, you will find humor within these two fascinating characters. #LAE3414sp19

Toddler's first Scholastic book haul!

Ok. I geeked out a little when I came across Frog and Toad at a local park. Had to take a selfie with them. I literally wore the tagged book out when I was a kid. #CincyLittens if you haven‘t yet, be sure to visit the Highfield Discovery Garden. Great area for kids and adults.

I can't believe my 3 year old was able to catch two at a time several times at the creek today

Using my research as an excuse to reread some old childhood favorites was the best idea. I absolutely loved this book growing up, and reading it now was just as much fun. Frog and Toad are so sweet and slightly ridiculous. I have a very strong urge to rush home and read it to my younger siblings!

This picture book by Arnold Lobel is an Animal Fantasy (F) recollection of stories about Toad and Frog. Amusing stories about friendship with beautiful illustrations that was awarded the silver Caldecott Medal. Great for Storytelling(S) and Read Alouds(RA) for the classroom. All of the stories are cute and funny and enjoyable to read along with the class.
