Up next. I enjoy her books. I‘ll start it tomorrow and listen while I work.
I honestly gave this book 50% before I DNF it. I love a multiple POV book, whice seems to be how Kubica writes all of her books. But this... nothing was happening. And if something was happening, I didn't really care.
This is the 5th book I've read of hers, and still nothing touches Local Woman Missing.

It was ok. Figured it out mid way through. Was def a little long and drawn out
This needed to be maybe half as long. The book follows Quinn and Alex. Quinn as she searches for answers regarding the disappearance of her roommate Esther. Alex‘s story with MPDG “Pearl” carries on for far too long. Quinn‘s story is better, but the romance subplot does not work.

Goals: knock out my current listen and read. The listen because it‘s so good I want to devour it, the read because it‘s lingered on too long, this was supposed to be my quick read 😩 1/2 way and not 1 clue what is happening in the tagged book. And make a solid dent in Fractured (goal to finish Monday)

📚Don‘t You Cry by Mary Kubica

💀 no clue what is happening in Kubica‘s or how the stories are connected.
👍🏼 McNamara‘s is very good so far. Gillian Flynn‘s foreword was very insightful “I love reading true crime, but I‘ve always been aware of the fact that, as a reader, I am actively choosing to be a consumer of someone else‘s tragedy.”
Thanks @DarkMina 🎃
So this is a combined review (mine was 4 stars, my husband was 1 star).
I had trouble getting into this one as there is a very slow build. In his words "there's nothing but descriptions for the first 250 pages then all the action in the last bit." ?
My husband has informed me that "you have to read this. Like right now, today." ? Apparently he wants to discuss it and I'm going to encourage that (he doesn't read much at all).
I put my book down to go shower and come back to this. I've been informed that this is now "his" book to read ? and he's been updating me on his thoughts about it. He's not a reader, so I'll let it slide. (and note Perry's "go away Ma" face ?)
This was a good thriller but a slow burn. I had no idea how this story was going to end. I was really confused because I thought two different stories were being told. It was very interesting to see how everything tied together at the end.

How was your weekend @OriginalCyn620 ? I went for a long walk and ended up in a cemetery (where I took this photo) and managed to finish one book, but didn‘t get around to starting the tagged one
💙💚💛🧡🖤
My first novel by #MaryKubica but definitely not my last. When a girl suddenly disappears from her apartment, her roommate desperately tries to find out what happened to her. A surprising #suspense that kept me riveted way passed my bedtime. #dontyoucry
Thank you! @Honeybeegirl Love HP! Can‘t wait to start the book and the inspiration quote journal is lovely. 💙💙

Finished this one today! Points for finishing and it fits our theme #TeamSlaughter @Clwojick
I started this thriller today at Home Depot waiting for the clerk to find a Shop Vac for my husband. First chapter had me hooked.
Even though I didn‘t know what the heck was happening 90% of the time it all came together in the end and holy Hannah what an ending it was!!!
I would tell you that I loved you
If I thought that you would stay
But I know that it's no use
And you've already gone away

Love different points of view, love her books, such easy reading, I can finish them in a weekend
What an underwhelming book. After flying through my other books I expected the same to happen with this one but I just didn‘t care. I didn‘t want to continue reading it because the story didn‘t grab me.
Told in two POV‘s, one is the roommate who is very self absorbed and worries if her coworker likes her. The ending was disappointing and I guessed the twist early on.
⭐️⭐️
I really enjoyed this and there was a satisfying ending. Mary Kubica is a great writer.
⭐⭐⭐
Meh. It was just ok. Predictable. Not sure I'd call it a "pick" but slightly more than a "so-so." Sort of a Single White Female meets Gone Girl story.
3rd of Kubica's books that I have read. Standalone thriller with interesting characters. Plot with twists and turns. The story gets off to a slow start with two separate narrators telling two separate stories. Piece by piece you begin to see how these stories can be related but you are kept guessing until the very end. I like books that surprise you and that's what her books are all about. Recommend to those who like psychological thrillers.
I read this right after The Good Girl and I couldn‘t help comparing them. I felt Don‘t You Cry was a little slow and I kept getting a little bored in all the back stories/descriptions. I would definitely recommend The Good Girl over Don‘t You Cry.
I think this is my favorite of Mary Kubica's novels (so far). I sympathized with Quinn's plight, loved how she puzzled everything out, and was rooting for her all along. Alex was a bit trickier, but he grew on me, too. I enjoyed the twists and turns this one took...a page-turner in the finest sense of the expression.
In downtown Chicago, a young woman named Esther Vaughan disappears from her apartment without a trace. A haunting letter addressed to My Dearest is found among her possessions, leaving her friend and roommate Quinn Collins to wonder where Esther is and whether or not she's the person Quinn thought she knew.
I read this one a couple of years ago and while not perfect it was a pick for me.

Hand delivering new books to @Bl00dyM0i on the daily. I came across these two in my apartments book swap. I have both of them already, but haven‘t read either. 🙈 #NeverEndingTBR and all...
Have any of my fellow Littens read either? Did you enjoy them? Do you recommend?

I really enjoyed this one. All starts with one of the main character's roommate going missing, and she tries to figure out why
Everything about it is just worth your time 🔥💖
Alex is my hero 💫
It has just the right amount of drama.
God save anyone who starts reading the book at night ..you wouldn't wanna put it down not even for sleep.💫
I like a good mystery on occasion. This one was easy to read. I didn't guess the twist until 2/3 through, so I consider that a successful story. It was interesting and kept me engaged. I will read this author again.
I liked this one for the most part. The turn it took definitely shocked me. It came together well. I just felt certain things were a bit rushed and could have been developed better.
@poppedamalia oh my gosh!!! Thank you soooo much for everything!!!! I feel like you know me!!! I love it all! The little Yoda ornament I can‘t even!!! He is so cute. I haven‘t read anything by Liane Moriarty so I‘m looking forward to reading this book! I also think a buddy read with Don‘t You Cry is the perfect idea!!!
Thank you again!!!! #secretsantagoespostal #wintersolsticebookexchange
I‘m DNFing this, I can‘t get into it after 50 pages and can‘t bring myself to pick it up. 😬
