Up super early today to catch a flight to Florida for a destination wedding. So of course the first thing I did was open my #fallingforfallswap package from @TheBookHippie . Thanks so much, Christine! What a fabulous treat. I can‘t wait to dive into everything when we get back on Sunday!
God Save The Queen. Rest In Peace your majesty, it was an honour growing up with your name. May you join your family now & rest.👑💔
My heart is heavy this morning after waking to the news that the only monarch I‘ve ever known has finally gone to join her beloved Phillip, her parents & sister. From her first moments as Queen after the death of her father 70yrs ago till her swearing in her 15th PM 48hrs ago, her life WAS her service to her country, her commonwealth & her people. We will never see her like again. Rest In Peace Your Majesty🇬🇧💔
In honour of Queen Lizzy‘s Platinum Jubilee, I‘m attempting to read this chunkster of a biography of her life up till 2011 which is when it was published I believe. If only I had my own real corgi again to take pictures with!(I miss you Mitzi & Suzi😢)Not sure how long my broken brain will go before it packs it in in protest, but I‘m giving it my all. Happy Jubilee Ma‘am👸🏻🐎🐶🇬🇧
Britain's Reading Agency and BBC Arts teamed up to create a list of books in honor of the Queen's seventieth year on the throne, and no matter how you may feel about the British monarchy, you could do worse than spend the next several months reading this excellent and admirably diverse list of books.

What a privileged, but stifling existence. Can you imagine never expressing an opinion publicly? The mystique is maintained. I do admire Queen Elizabeth II, but I find Prince Charles a much more intriguing person for all his opinions and flaws. If I could have tea with a member of the Royal Family, I would still choose the Queen. Who would you choose? 3/5 ☕️s
Major faux pas at the White House in 1976! “The Lady is a Tramp” was the song played for Queen Elizabeth‘s dance with President Gerald Ford!
I think that is hilarious 😂🤣😂!
Elizabeth the Queen: The Life of a Modern Monarch by Sally Bedell Smith
Edgar Allan Poe
Ever After, A Cinderella Story
Ella Fitzgerald

Every Night by Imagine Dragons
I‘ve been reading this and Book of Ages while recovering from a dumb summer cold. My husband has been taking good care of me. (Btw, did I mention we eloped last month? I‘m officially a wife. 😂🤘)
#nonfiction
I read a lot of books set in the #UnitedKingdom including royal books. Here‘s just one part! #LetsTravelAugust
I really enjoyed learning more about Queen Elizabeth the second. She is inspiring and has led such an interesting life. I was inspired and truly fascinated about certain details of her life
It only took me nine months to read this tome🤣 This was a great biography of Queen Elizabeth. Packed with detail it tells the story of her monarchy up to 2012. I did find the author taking a distinctive pro royal slant and dissing people like Diana. Which I thought was unusual for an American but she probably doesn‘t want to lose access. Other than that I really enjoyed this book.
Here are my #FridayReads. Maybe one day I will finish this tagged book. I have been reading it forever. What are you reading today?
Here are the books I am currently reading. Hoping to make some progress on them this weekend and start from my stack of new books!
Well Susan Hussey, whoever you are, I hope you are still alive to see one of the princes marry a divorced, commoner American 🤣🤣 #whatasnob
I have a lot more books about real royals than #fairytales #riotgrams Day 26 @bookriot
It‘s exam week over here so I have been pretty AWOL. I have been loving this book and enjoying learning more about Queen Elizabeth II. Monarchies even a constitutional one have always fascinated me and I am l excited to go deeper into it.
Winding down after a busy day
I do a lot of Christmas shopping for myself because my husband is sort of clueless. I got myself this magazine, then he misplaced it, then this morning he remembered it. The baby was awake for four hours in the middle of the night last night, heaven help us. Need coffee, at least River is playing quietly and waiting for the tree. ✨ #JoinIn #ChristmasCrazy
I am loving season 2 of The Crown. I'm on episode 6 and I'm stopping here for tonight bc I don't want to rush through all the episodes! My favorite so far was the episode about Princess Margaret and Anthony Armstrong-Jones. I'd love a good book about the Queen's sister! #royals #TheCrown
Man do I love this show.
These are the two books I have been working on this weekend. They are both huge but I want to save all my other TBR books for #thankfullyreading which I am starting on Wednesday.
Had too much fun making this display today. 😂 #noshavenovember #librarylife #libraryassistant #movember #library #publiclibrary
Enjoying my #litsypartyofone with a delicious breakfast. My photo session for today was postponed due to illness so I have the whole day to read. I have been working on this book for a month. It‘s really interesting and informative.
Someone on Litsy recommended this, and I‘m glad I read it. I love the behind the scenes stuff, and it was an interesting take on the Queen‘s life. #blameitonLitsy
Sneaking in some reading on this rainy Sunday before I head to a friends brunch. It‘s a perfect day to just stay in bed reading.
Y‘all my name is Susan and I am addicted to the British Royal Family. My friends who live in London roll their eyes at me but I don‘t care. I adore them. Excited to dive into this tome I just got from the library. Hopefully I can finish it in a year 🤣
In my #WildestDreams I'd be a friend to the Royal Family. (I'd settle for meeting the Queen.) Here are two of my royal books and two of my favorite pictures. #AugustGrrrl @Cinfhen
We're getting ready to go on vacation to Virginia to visit my husband's family, and since we're driving (10 hours) I figured I'd select a few larger tomes to take, versus multiple smaller ones. These are the ones I picked. Eclectic mix I'd say! #tbr
I've been on a romance kick lately, so I haven't been reading much non-fiction. However, I have this ebook on my phone and I read a few pages here and there when I'm in the checkout line or school pickup. 📚🤓#recentnonfictionread #marchintoreading
Seriously. Doesn't that just make you want to carpe diem? 👑
We're watching The Crown, and Claire Foy (the whole cast, in fact) is so breathtakingly perfect, it brings tears to my eyes.
I have had the hardest time getting accustomed to gin. I trained myself to drink coffee black; I got used to tequila; now, if the queen drinks a gin and tonic every day, then by golly, I will too!! Well...not every day, but once in a while 😉
Here is my cat showing off the shelf that holds some of my #Royals books. I have several more about Queen Elizabeth II, the Tudors, and my current interest, Queen Victoria. I could've shared a photo with more books, but cats are royal too, so this seemed appropriate. #ReadJanuary #CatsofLitsy
#readjanuary #day18 #royals There isn't anyone more royal than Queen Elizabeth II of 🇬🇧 Her life is fascinating, from watching her father, who had a stutter & major stage fright, be thrust into kinghood when his brother abdicated, to becoming the Princess Royal, heir to the throne & then ascending to that role at such a young age when her father died suddenly from cancer. She's a remarkable woman, watch The Crown on Netflix, she's had a hard life.
"The solution is to stop smiling." "The trouble is I have the sort of face, when I'm not smiling, everyone says, 'Oh, isn't she cross!'" Wait, was this the OG resting b**** face?? ?
