Starting this one today! Anyone read it? Thoughts?

#Bookandlunch

Victoriahoperose I thought this book was really good. Very different from the show, though if you liked that. The book was more informative whereas the show definitely had more of a story. 3y
JenReadsAlot Great book! Met the author a couple years ago as well and she was fantastic. I work in addiction so we had a nice chat. 3y
Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks @Victoriahoperose I haven‘t watched it yet! 3y
Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks @JenReadsAlot it‘s always cool to meet an author!! 💛 3y
Ahw06 I didn‘t read it but I watched it and was fascinated by the story. 3y

#bookandlunch I have been craving these locally made walnut & honey lavosh with soft cheese. Today I went to my local cheese room (yes cheese ROOM), & here is a photo of the lunch I just devoured 🤤😋.

I am half way through the book & I‘m hooked. #currentlyreading

(Also eaten, but not pictured, giant fresh lychees). #summerfruits

When hubby brings home sushi for lunch😋🍣

Takeaways:
🥩No eating meat with blood still in it!

🌈Now we know why there are rainbows😄

🍷Noah, a righteous man, messed up and got drunk, yet his son‘s sin was greater

🤔James4:17“to him who knows to do right and does it not, to him it is sin.”

😬Sounds like Pharaoh would‘ve had relations with Abraham‘s wife Sarah when he took her as his own wife…BUT in Gen20:6 we‘ll learn that God prevented it!😮

CogsOfEncouragement I did not remember that Lot‘s father had died. I will read about Lot‘s relationship with his Uncle Abraham in a fresh way this year. 3y
BookBabe @CogsOfEncouragement Yes great point, same here! 🙌🏻 3y

SRWCF You had me at sushi! 🍣 🍣 🍣 3y
BookBabe @SRWCF I wholeheartedly concur! 😋😋😋 3y
Crazeedi Read Genesis 9 to 12. Interesting facts about how the descendants of Noah populated various areas. And that Hams son Canaan was cursed by Noah. Then how the people wanted to build the building to the skies! And God knew they were trying to do what satan tempted eve with "ye be like God!" So He scattered them! 3y
Crazeedi And how God called Abram to leave his home, the trust Abram must have had. Here is one place where the foretelling of Christ is mentioned "all the nations will be blessed" from Abrams descendants. 3y
Crazeedi Btw do you know Genesis 3:15 declares Gods promise to send Jesus to finally conquer Satan for good? 3y
BookBabe @Crazeedi Thank you so much for sharing that about Genesis 3:15! I had actually been wondering what it meant when I read it, but I had a hectic day and didn‘t get to look it up. I‘m so glad you brought it up! 😃 3y
BookBabe Re: Genesis 9-12: Yes that was all so interesting! Also that God “confused their language” so that they would speak different tongues and therefore lose their ability to communicate. 😮 And YES the trust that Abram needed to have in God to do what he did! (edited) 3y
Crazeedi Can you email me? crazeedi73@gmail.com I have a question! 3y
Mtroiano Have you heard of Jen Wilkin‘s Genesis studies, God of Creation and God of Covenant? They are amazing resources for digging deeper! 3y
Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks @BookBabe I wondered why He did this… 3y
BookBabe @Crazeedi I emailed you 😊 3y
BookBabe @Mtroiano oh interesting! I had not heard of them, thank you for telling me (and all of us)! 😃🙌🏻 3y

Enjoying an Açaí bowl for lunch today! Although this version is quite different from how açaí bowls originated, which according to this article, is eaten unsweetened alongside manioc.

https://tamboracai.com/history-of-the-acai-bowl/

Butterfinger I can get this in my little town (I am actually in Marion). This is my eldest's favorite snack. To think that the Jujitsu founder created the bowl. How cool. I am learning so much. 4y

bnp This has gone n my wish list. Maybe this summer when there is a Lusophone read on LT. 4y
alisiakae @Butterfinger I like to have an açaí bowl after a particularly strenuous workout (like today ?). The nearby juice bar sells them! 4y
IndoorDame That looks delicious! 4y
Amiable Yummy! 4y
Jerdencon Looks good! 4y
Texreader So açaí is Brazilian? There‘s a place in my neighborhood and that‘s all they serve. I‘m not sure if I‘d like them anyway... 4y
Catsandbooks I'm not sure I'd like them the original way, but yours looks delicious! 4y
alisiakae @Texreader açaí is indigenous to multiple countries in central and South America, but I think the açaí bowl concept originated in Brazil. Not ? sure though. The consistency and taste is similar to a smoothie, my juice bar blends it with almond milk, banana, and berries (at least for this version). 4y
alisiakae @Catsandbooks it was yummy! 4y
ChasingOm I fell in love with açaí bowls in Hawai‘i! I‘ve never been able to replicate them at home... ? 4y
Texreader Since I don‘t like smoothies I‘m fairly certain this wouldn‘t work for me. BUT my daughter is now convinced! She said I could get her one and I could take a pic for Litsy! 4y
DebinHawaii They were (and still are) huge in Hawaii—starting with the surfers here & now in most coffee & juice shops. I used to eat one every Friday when I worked from my local coffee shop a couple of days a week. I need to have one to celebrate Brazil—it‘s a great reason! 😋😉 4y
alisiakae @ChasingOm I found frozen açaí at Costco once, but if wasn‘t the same consistency and was way too sweet. I only ever get it at juice bars. 4y
