repost for @Soubhiville:

It‘s December, our final 2024 #AuthorAMonth! Time to pull out our Terry Pratchett books. What are you planning to read?

#AuthorAMonth is a no-pressure, no-commitment Litsy challenge. The goal is to celebrate the works of a particular author each month. Authors were chosen through polls by Litsy participants. Read as many as you like, skip months when needed, it's entirely up to you!

I have framed Edward Gorey jigsaw puzzles all over my office. Not to mention all the books, magnets and current calendar!

Bookwomble This is superb! I have a few Gorey jigsaws, which are often fiddly with all that hatching, but so satisfying when complete 😊 6mo

#Midwintersolace

It's easy to get overwhelmed with the demands of contemporary life. I find it beneficial to pause and take a breath, rethinking what matters, what's important to me in that moment.

These are a few of my calming/zen quotes to get me back on the right path.

Week 5 Activity - The crazy run-up to the holidays is over. I thought it appropriate to look at calming or zen imagery/quotes now, as January can be a most difficult month.
As we step into a new year, let's start as we mean to go on, supporting each other x

Happy New Year to you all 🥂

OriginalCyn620 Love it! Can‘t wait to see what projects I can come up with! (edited) 1y
Kenyazero I might actually do something this month if my life finally settles down a bit like I anticipate 😆 1y
CatLass007 @Catsandbooks I was this many minutes old when I learned that there is a #LitsyCrafters group that share their work with one another and has a monthly challenge. I hadn‘t done any #crochet in several years until February of 2011. I wanted to read at the same time and in December of 2011, I listened to my very first audiobook. For some insane reason I didn‘t think I‘d like audiobooks. Boy, was I wrong! Please add me to your tag list. I wanna play. 1y
Catsandbooks @CatLass007 Added you! So glad you found the group! I love audio rafting. Can't wait to see what you make! 1y
CatLass007 Thank you. My main craft is crochet and I am very comfortable audiocrocheting. I learned how to cross stitch a few years ago. But I have one finished project to my name. I‘ve started a project that was meant to be a gift for my Mom, but she passed away in 2018 and I had to set it aside for a while because of the emotion attached to it. I decided a couple of weeks ago to hunt it down and resume work on it. I started another project that (cont)⬇️ 1y
CatLass007 was intended to be a gift for the love of my life, but he passed away in 2020 of ALS. That project also had to be set aside. I‘m too much of a cross stitch novice to listen to a book while cross stitching. I‘m not even sure if I could listen to music while cross stitching. But I‘m ready to give it a try. 1y
Catsandbooks @CatLass007 oh I'm so very sorry for your losses. It can be hard to work on those things that hold so much meaning and emotion. I find art to be very therapeutic too and can help me work through things. Maybe one day you'll be able to pick those things back up, but there's no rush ❤️ I've crocheted and cross stitched things, I'll try anything 😂 You can do anything creative for the group though! Any and all creative ideas are welcome! 1y
CatLass007 Thanks for making me welcome. So far, I‘ve only managed to find those projects, but that was a big part of the battle. 1y

Pickpick

Have you guys ever heard of “reverse coloring”? It‘s a cool concept where the images or really like ink blots are already in the books and you draw lines and make them into whatever you want them to be. The pictured book was not in the Litsy database yet, but it is available on Amazon.

Tamra Oh, my daughter might like this - thanks for posting! 2y
Mimi28 @Tamra The full name of the book is “Reverse Your World- A Reverse Coloring Book of Abstract Drawings to Escape the Ordinary” sorry the full name got cut off. Glad I could help I hope she has fun! It‘s on Amazon. 2y
Mimi28 @tamra There are also Black Girl Magic and Black Girl affirmations coloring books that I enjoy but was afraid to post- Amazon. Is awesome!! Lol 2y
