A bunch of Terry Pratchett books are on sale today. I‘ve never read them, so which should I start with???
pickI‘ve been on a bit of a kick the last week or so. When I think of Amish mysteries, somehow this is not what I expected. These mysteries are some of the goriest books I‘ve read in a while! However, I obviously must be enjoying them- it‘s like I can‘t look away. I love them! Think I am ready for a brief break though; time for another direction.
pickToday I seem to have had the attention span of a fly, so I read this group of short mysteries in the Kate Burkholder series. The stories were great- complete little mysteries. The audiobook- not so much. When the reader portrays any of the Amish young women they all have this voice that makes them sound about four years old. I love this series, although there are a LOT of murders in this very small town. 😊
pickI read the Lord Peter Windy books years ago loved them all! This time I thought I‘d start at the beginning and read the first in the series. Honestly, I thoroughly enjoyed reading this, but Busman‘s Honeymoon is still my favorite. Also, this time I seemed to notice more the prejudices of the time. Read for #authoramonth
pickI loved rereading this. The audiobook was wonderful. I started it New Year‘s Eve and on January 1st I caught COVID for the first time. It has made reading this (her book about COVID) far more interesting! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
It‘s a miracle! 🥹 I just got a blanket out of the washer, and as I stuffed it into the dryer my kindle fell out! I didn‘t even look at it at first, because I figured it was waterlogged and Done. Guess what! Its fine. Charger works too. The case kind of kept it sealed.
Go figure.
pickI have a few of these British Library Crime Classics in my Kindle library that I purchase when they are on sale. This one was such fun that I think I need to get a hard copy of it! It‘s funny throughout, and I‘m still not quite sure exactly what happened, but I will definitely be reading it again next year. I wish this author had an opportunity to write more - I‘d have read them all!

Last night this book (finally!) became available on Libby and I am having the BEST TIME listening to it! I can‘t even describe how much I am enjoying it- I‘m definitely going to have to buy a copy. Horror with a bit of dark humor - I hope the rest is as good as the beginning!

🎡 It‘s been quite a few years, but we love Holiday World in Santa Claus Indiana. We camped at the campground next door, and loved every minute! Especially the free drinks and sunscreen ☀️
🎢 I take a book everywhere I go. I usually have an actual book, plus I have kindle and nook and Libby all on my phone. The actual book is in case my phone dies. 😉

I haven‘t been this excited about a book in quite a while. I love a good disaster movie. The more over the top it is the more I love it! And this book looks like a disaster movie waiting to happen. And who wouldn‘t love a book started by Michael Crichton and finished by James Patterson?! I only hope I am not over-hyping it to myself! I‘ll let you know😉

pickWell. So far this is my least favorite. I have trouble enough keeping track of all of the characters without all the new ones added in this book. I‘m really looking forward to the next book, where all my favorites come back! Still a pick though- I did enjoy it overall. Izzy says hi!

Well, I was in my 20‘s in the 80‘s and appears all I did was watch movies! (Had a couple kids too). I‘ve seen 95 of the movies. Back then it was the height of the video stores era. Anyway, favorites include-
1. ET (I believe ET was the first low priced vhs tape. It kind of changed everything. After that you could actually own the movies!)
2. Poltergeist. Scared the crap out of me.
3. Terms of Endearment 😭😭😭

pickI really enjoyed this; but then, I usually do enjoy all of her books. It wasn‘t my favorite though- a bit too much going on. Definitely would recommend.
pickThis book is different from my usual. It‘s about a hospice nurse, and each chapter is about a different patient who she has helped as they are dying. She talks a lot about the things that happen during this time, such as dead family members appearing to the dying patient. It‘s a fascinating look at a difficult job. Being there for the family, making sure there‘s no pain, and being a source of info and comfort for family. ⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️
so-soI know I‘m in trouble when I read the first chapter and I already don‘t like one of the main characters. This was just a meh for me. Twist wasn‘t too hard to figure out. Blah blah blah.
pickIf this were the first Rebecca Serle book I‘d read I‘d say it was wonderful. I love the magical realism in her books, and this is a good one to pull you out of a slump. However I read One Italian Summer first and I loved it so much that this book paled a bit in comparison. While I would read them both again, if you haven‘t read any of her books I adored One Italian Summer.

pickThis was on sale for kindle today and since I don‘t have nearly enough to read on my kindle (😳😁) I got it and read it today. Romancy historical fun. Liked the story about a strong woman although I did feel that the romance was a little hollow. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

pickThis is the third book in this series, and the last one available at the library, so I‘m going to have to stop here for a while. It‘s been so many years since I read this series that it‘s like new! I had forgotten that it starts off in the year 2058, so that adds a fun twist as well. The three I‘ve read have helped me enormously this month, as I‘ve had a hard time concentrating the last couple weeks. Great series, which I‘ll definitely continue.

pickI saw that a group here was reading this series. I read these, maybe the first 15 or so, years ago, back in the 90‘s and loved them. Thought I‘d reread the first one so I listened to this today. I love a mystery series, and this one is wonderful - takes place in the future and has a bit of romance as well as a great mystery. I may have to continue this series!
I absolutely must have a beverage in the carefully chosen mug or glass. I don‘t necessarily drink it, because I forget it‘s there, but must have it.
Just finished A Clash of Kings, which can be read with either a hot or cold drink. (Wintery books require a hot drink).

pickI love Christmas mysteries. I saw this on hoopla last night and listened to it today. (It‘s only 260 pages). If you‘re looking for a good Christmas thriller this is it. It‘s really a mystery/thriller that takes place in the five days before Christmas. A tragedy from the past is stirred up when a true crime podcaster takes a look at a crime that occurred ten years ago. I loved it!!
