My scholar ran halfway across the cafeteria to tell me about this author and of course to get her photo taken! We have 19 days left of the school season and this scholar already has a list of books that she‘ll tackle through the summer.

My soon-to-be middle schooler is already getting started on his sixth grade summer reading assignment. Happy to see he‘s not a procrastinator like his mom! 😅

I wanted to like this more than I did, but maybe a book about middle school boys just isn‘t aimed at me. Bullying, the power of words, the fluctuations of friendships, a lot of things weigh in here. Too much of the “if only I‘d known then” type of withholding reveals for me. I just felt like this could have been better.

i found posted while reading websites with highly recommended books, and while i thought this was a pretty good book, it didn‘t fully hit the spot for me. something about the way posted was written felt...different to me. i did think the book was good though, with relatable characters and a pretty good plot. it was a tough decision whether for this to be a pick or a so-so read, but i have deemed it a so-so read because of how the book made me feel

Normally we celebrate the power of words. Their power to make us feel accepted. Their power to make us laugh. This story is about that other power. The power of words to make us feel alone, separate, different, unwanted and unworthy. This story shows us what happens when that power takes precedence. Sometimes the endings in life and literature are bittersweet.
