With this book I now have 1500 books in my library… but I have two more I added and only 200-300 of those I haven‘t read 🙌🏽📚📚📚 it‘s not a problem really it‘s not 👀😜🤣🤣🤣

This guy has become one of my favorites. His ability to make funny sassy relatable characters while making us feel every ounce of their pain is extraordinary. The ending of this book is very unique, I love the dark way that this ended and will continue onto the next book. Lemon is a fantastic character. Though I did see every twist coming (except one that had me really fooled) it was still an exhilarating read. Jay Kristoff shows no mercy.
Jay Kristoff successfully uses fight scenes as a literary medium that carries the plot and emotional cords of the story.
I have to explain the photo first. @Reggie I opened up a drawer at my dads house and look what was staring up at me! 😳😳😳 I would say I was shocked, but honestly I have learnt to expect ANYTHING.
Anyway this book. It‘s YA Sci Fi and I‘d heard it was reminiscent of Cinder which I loved so I had to jump in. The world building was brilliant, wonderful robots, AI and tech. A couple of great characters (Lemon!), surprisingly not the protagonist, ⬇️
I am posting one book per day from my to-be-read collection. No description and providing no reason for wanting to read it, I just do. Some will be old, some will be new - don‘t judge me I have a lot of books.
Join the fun if you want. This is day 159.

This book was a total action packed epic from start to finish. It is an Anastasia retelling which I completely wasn‘t expecting. The amount of subtle Anastasia references were so well worked in.
The world building was incredible and reminiscent of Mad Max in a way, which I was really into. The characters were fun, unique and not too angsty. So well written, I was sucked in and could vividly see everything coming to life.
🤣 🤣 I confess .... This is so totally something I do.
“It's simple to love someone on the days that are easy. But you find out what your love is made of on the days that are hard.”
“Your past doesn't make calls on your future. It doesn't matter who you were. Only who you are.”
“Better to rule in hell,” the beautiful man smiles, “than serve in heaven.”
“Even in our darkest moments, we have a choice, sweet Ana.”
This was epic!! Jay Kristoff is one of my all-time favorite authors and this book held true to that! I loved the characters, the plot, and all the exciting twists and turns. I thought the pacing was excellent and loved all the action. I especially loved all the different twists in this book and did not see that ending coming.... at all!
Book 1. Pulls you in from the start and takes you on a ride. Great book.

So I'm not going to rank them, that would be too hard. But this would be my first choice for a favourite series. The descriptions on the book cover are all the explanation needed.
I have been hearing great things about Kristoff‘s books for ages- so I was really excited to dive into listening to this first book in the series- not knowing what to expect. It‘s certainly an action-packed mashup of dystopian fiction, a dash of YA romance & fantasy & lots of robots and bullets! And I really didn‘t expect the historical foundation, either! I liked it a lot- though I wish there had been more character development. #AudioColoring
All the time I was reading the second section of this, I kept thinking something was really familiar: the names (Ana, Marie, Alex) & the execution flashbacks. It suddenly hit me that it was the Romanov assassination it reminded me of.
Anyway it was a good read, a mix of Mad Max, Robot Wars, & The Terminator, but I just felt there was something missing. A just missed the mark 3.5 (rounded up to 4)🌟
A fast-paced sci-fi dystopian blend of an Anastasia retelling & I, Robot. The setting is really fun & creepy at the same time--a bit of Thunderdome with unique and entertaining world-building. The characters are magnificent. Evil science corps, murderous robots, a gang of religious zealot vigilantes, some dangerous street gangs, & an apparently more than human bounty hunter..and that doesn't include the protagonists! I loved this book so hard.
Rating: ⭐️
Dnf at 48%. I just could not get into it. The writing was flat. It was a bit weird. There felt like something was missing from the plot and it felt one dimensional. The main character was annoying, yet boring. I did love Lemon though.

Coming home to bookmail and pups and kitties makes a crappy day seem better.
This book has excellent world building and a very realistic, futuristic feel. Some parts of it were overly sappy for a Sci Fi story, but it didn't get ridiculous. The characters are multidimensional and addictive. The book had an interesting ending and I'm curious to find out with the lifelikes do next. 🌟🌟🌟🌟
It's a beautiful day outside in Virginia and I am relaxing in the backyard with my dog Rose and a good book. Content for now.😊
I made it. Book 300!
Hard to describe this book. Sassy girls, cyborg dogs, androids, war bots, princesses, and so much more.
If you like Jay Kristoff's books, read it.

Loved this book, it reads like fallout meets ex machina!

“... but there's nothing quite the same as sitting with a real book in your hands. Breathing in the ink and feeling all those wonderful lives beneath your fingertips. In between the pages, I'm an emperor. An adventurer. A warrior and a wanderer. In between the pages I'm not myself-and more myself than in any other place on earth.”

This series is killing me.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 4.5 stars Well this was slow to start for me but, wow, quite the ending! Interesting take on an apocalyptic story involving robots and androids. This had kind of a Mad Max feel to it too. The only thing I didn't like was all the slang that was overused. I'm looking forward to reading the next book though.
What is with that ending?!?!?!? Seriously did not see that coming. Calli slept through my wide eyed reading this morning as I finished this one. I did enjoy it but there are quite a few twists and turns and I‘m not sure what will happen in the next book! Robots, lost families and some awesome fight scenes are all contained inside these pages. #dogsoflitsy
Starting this for the Reading Rivalry Buddy Read! #rrodinsbeard
I may actually finish a section of #Booked2019 in the time period I am suppose to finish. I am reading my last prompt for summer right now, but here is where I currently am.
I was so unsure about this book for like 80% of it and then you get to the end and 🤯🤯🤯 I have never been so surprised or shocked by any book more than this one. I did not see the ending coming at all and it made the rest of the book worth it. I can‘t wait to read the rest of this series!
You have not lived until you have snuggled up under a comforter and dozed/read in a hammock 💤💤💤. My husband will come out at some point and take me to bed.
It is 74 degrees in KC, which is perfect to most people, but sweater weather for me!
That big blob is my 32 year old husband climbing the jungle gym with our 6 year old son. I am trying to enjoy my book but also hoping he doesn't fall and break something...
4.5 ⭐️. Jay Kristoff has done it again. The major twist I did not see coming and was like YES!!!!! And OMG!!!, and ??????!!!!!!!! The twist at the very end I saw coming a mile away.
If you like punk science fiction, dystopia, etc, pick up this book. Then pick up the sequel, because you are probably going to want it. It‘s a wild ride. But an enjoyable one.
Full Review on GR and LT
This was excellent. I love any YA with strong female friendships, and Lemon was literally the coolest. I hope she gets a good storyline in the sequel! The ending surprised me in the best possible way!
The kids‘ naps are miraculously overlapping (it‘ll probably last 10 minutes...) so I‘m taking advantage of what little alone time I can get!
If you have read Heartless and Likel1k3 then this makes sense. If not it might not. But I say Eve is like the queen of heats (heartless version). I can‘t say more with out giving it away.

February break is my favorite break from school - there‘s no major holidays or events, so I don‘t have a ton of family obligations. The kids still went to daycare today, so I am spending a little time at my favorite coffee shop (literally our only coffee shop...) and starting a new book.
