Book 117 - audio

I liked this one much more the first one! I don't k ow if I was just able to get into the setting a bit more or what but this was much more enjoyable than the first. Looking forward to what happens next!

I have to say I like book two better than book one. Mystery romance, well kind of, but definitely a love triangle, plus all the maid Mechanicals you can want abound in this steampunk school. Plus we get to learn quite a bit more about the vampires in this world and how they work. I love this series and it may take me a year to pick up book three, but I know the minute I do I'll be thoroughly entertained.

I am finding the Finishing School series absolutely delightful. It reminds me why I love Gail Carriger so much.

I just started this today, and I am already sucked in. I love this quirky series.

The second in the series and it was another super fun read. Looking forward to the next one in the series.

I think I adore this series! Book 1 was good, but book 2 was just as good; can‘t wait to move on to the next one and see where Ria ends up!

2/5⭐ The humor and hijinks are entertaining enough, but there's no depth/growth to the characters or plot whatsoever. Sophronia is annoyingly and unrealistically perfect at everything. The two attempts at her character growth feel false because the circumstances surrounding them are forced, the stakes not genuine. The whole ostracism thing was just plain stupid. #bookemon

Warning: Pity Party. Work has been unusually stressful. Although I‘m looking forward to the #OhioMeetup tomorrow I feel very scattered and unprepared. Sunday is my oldest son‘s 6th birthday party which had me running around all week. I‘ve neglected my #LitsyPenPals and haven‘t really had time to just enjoy my Litsy feed. I‘m blessed to have such a full life but I need a break.

Finished the audiobook in a day. The only thing that detracted from the book from me personally is that I have a dislike of love triangles. I know that pretty common in YA but it's just not my cup of tea. This book nearly hinted at one but I get the feeling that it'll be a bigger deal later in the series. In spite of all of that it was still a really fun read. 🍵

Another fun season at finishing school. Sophronia is up to her usual intrigues, but there are mysteries afoot.

I adore Soap and can‘t wait to see how that develops. And Sidheag is awesome, too.

I did like book one better, a bit, but this is still great. More of the asides from the author, but they‘re integrated a little better than before. Solid 4.5/5 ⭐️

Think I caught an error. They‘re all supposed to be keeping Geraldine in the dark, so why is Lady Linette talking about conspiracy in front of her?

I appreciate Sidheag‘s description of the peculiarities of male anatomy.

✅Unusual - fossilised skeleton of a woolly rhino. They were found during the building of the second underground tunnel of our town's tiny underground/tram system.

Another doctor's appointment. Blood was drawn, things were discussed. Short walks to and from the tram stops. Now I'm worn out.

Speed walked to the bakery this morning to get fresh croissants and a cheese roll for my daughter's birthday breakfast; then walked by the petrol station to get the cake (shops are closed on Sundays but some petrol stations have groceries).

That piece of cake is for you, Julie. My daughter promised to store it in a very secure place. 😜

One of her presents was a 3D jigsaw puzzle, we built it already.

Escaping reality with a bath bomb soak and my current read! This SAHM has had one heck of a day! Glad to have a new 24 hours tomorrow!

The perfect whimsical steampunk adventure! It brightened my day after a hard day at work and was the perfect antidote to how confronting the last book was. Sophronia‘s transforming dress is so cool!

It was enjoyable to be drawn back into Madame Geraldine's Finishing School to follow Sophronia into her next adventure... One where someone is after her best friend Dimity, and Sophronia must figure both why and whom it may be. Lots of fun twists & turns. Plus vampires and werewolves. You can't go wrong 🤗 4🌟

This was an extremely quick read. I was able to listen to it in just a day and a half

Not the best book by far but it‘s really cute and I‘m pretty sure with how short the audio is, it would be a quick read on paper.

Took my first beach day off the season, and I finished this with my toes in the sand. I love Gail Carriger's writing- it's hilarious, well-paced, and features wonderful female characters. This is a great series to dip into. And, it fulfills the Steampunk entry for #Booked2018!
