1. The Laugh Book - the first book I ever bought and I still have it (published in 1971 - I was 6 and had to have this book)
2. Carol Burnett Show (tv)
3. Bringing Up Baby (Katherine Hepburn and Cary Grant, 1938 film)
#TLT thanks for the tag @dabbe
Make a great day everyone 🍂
This is a 5+ star audiobook. It was so sweet to hear the star of so many well-loved TV shows/episodes reminisce. I love that audiobook & have wanted this hardcover on my shelf forever. ❣️❣️❣️ An amazing woman!
Thanks for the tag @PageShifter
The #LetterI has to be another favorite memoir of mine. I just adore Carol Burnett 🙌🏻and loved all the behind-the-scenes stories from her hilarious TV show.
If you ever need a laugh, check out any of The Carol Burnett Show bloopers on YouTube.😂
@Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks 🤗
Such a great book! Carol Burnett reminisces about her time on the Carol Burnett show. Peppered with interviews and guest speakers, the book covers the show from the first idea to the last episode.
And what I was looking forward to the most: the Curtain Dress from their Gone With the Wind parody. It was just as funny hearing about as it was seeing it.
Burnett is a comedy genius and a great person.
This is not a memoir of Carol Burnetts life - it is a memoir of her show. Very fun listen. I suggest the audiobook, Carol Burnett is narrator and it is like sitting with her as she telis you how the show came about and she relives some of the skits. The show could only happen today if you had the same cast/crew - they were skilled, professional, fun, and seemed to have not only a good work ethic but ⬇
#Two4Tuesday thx for tag @TheSpineView
1. I think tagged book will make me feel nostalgic, we used to watch her show as a family, good memories of childhood
2. Either way is good as long as I am enjoying the story, no preference
Want to play @CaffeineAndCandy
Make a great day everyone 😊
Her show premiered the year before I was born, so I grew up with Harvey Korman, Tim Conway and Vickie Lawrence. I can hear Carol Burnett's voice in my head when I read certain books outloud. So you could say she influenced my career. This was a fun audio book. I'm glad my son was in the room when she did the Tarzan yell.
I can't remember who posted this, but I don't usually listen to audio books. But I couldn't imagine reading this when I could hear her voice. Thanks Littens for encouraging me to be a better listener.
🎧 I LOVED this audiobook! Audible $6 sale, thank you Libby! Short book, ~8 hours.
If you‘ve seen the Carol Burnett Show & like her you have to LISTEN to this book. She not only narrates but there are actual snippets of interviews of many cast members and guests.
Personal stories about her life, the show, Hollywood stars.
I watched this show in reruns as a kid. This brought back such good memories! I love it!

In this audio version, Burnett recaps her favorite sketches, and behind-the-scenes anecdotes are interspersed with excerpts from recorded interviews with former cast members. I'm not a huge fan of TV/celebrity memoirs, but this one is fairly interesting for those familiar with the show.
Audiobaking adventure: First attempt at sourdough bread! Not sure how much I paid attention to my book, though...the sourdough process took a lot of my working memory.
Thanks for the encouragement, @Clare-Dragonfly ! (We also made pancakes twice. They were a huge hit!)
Starting off my Monday with a laugh. #audiobook #readbyauthor
After finishing Frankenstein (goodbye Dan Stevens. Sigh) I decided to go a little lighter for my #audioknitting
The Carol Burnett Show is my all time favorite show and this book is great.
Yes, I am STILL working on this shawl.

I read this August 11-13 & gave it 4 ⭐️ on Good Reads. I grew up on the Carol Burnett Show and even to this day my Mum watches the edited version - which is a shame and they should show the original one hour show - and I loved Burnett‘s insights to the show.
The first #audiobook I ever listened to!! #30junebooks @howjessreads
This was AMAZING!! I'm a little young to remember her show, but I love the occasional autobiography like this. This was so fast paced, and still well detailed. I finished in a day and a half. Highly recommend!
Some #audiocrocheting / #audiolaundry this afternoon. What do you all think of my first cowl so far? Is it good enough to gift? #hookersoflitsy
Some #audiocrocheting today. I couldn't do it for long. I've been having terrible migraines this week.
I made these Christmas cup cozies for two of my #litsyswaps. I hope they like them. I'm still a beginner.
A charming memoir that takes us behind the scenes of Carol Burnett‘s hilarious variety show. She manages to say something nice about everyone, so if you‘re looking for scandal and dirty secrets, you won‘t find it here. As she recounted her favorite stories, I remembered so many enjoyable and entertaining moments from the show.
Anxiety is crushing me today and so I‘m going to listen to one of my favorites.
After a day of extraordinary beasts (❤ Jude Law) and shopping for swaps, I came home to some #bookmail!
My #bookoutlethaul includes two books for the #stuffedstockingswap #SSS.
The other five are mine. Book buying ban starts.....now?
I really enjoyed Carol talking about her Carol Burnett show. Brought back memories of watching her show on Saturday evenings after bath time on my Dad's lap. Glad I listened to it since Carol narrated it and there were several audios of some of the cast as well.
Listening to this on Libby. It‘s narrated by the author of course, who talks about various aspects of the Carol Burnett Show including various skits, a few of which I remember from childhood and most of which I don‘t. #audiobook #showbiz #television
I love Carol Burnett and this book was a great trip down memory lane as she recounted her time with the amazing cast of the Carol Burnet show. It included many great stories as well as interviews with some of the cast!! This was my first audiobook and while I didn‘t love it, it was neat to hear Carol‘s words in her own voice!
I am currently listening to my first #audiobook on my commute every day... still not sure I am liking it. #readingresolutions @Jess7
I have never tried listening to a book and I am thinking it is about time I try one... putting this in my car to start in my way to work this week!! 🤓
Boy, do I hate to give Carol Burnett a "so-so," but I want to be honest. This book was 60% great. That part was Carol (reading the audio herself) telling behind the scenes stories and how the show came to be, etc.
The other 40% was Carol reliving some of her favorite comedy sketches word for word. She even played all the parts. It was just awkward, and honestly, boring. It was like being told an unfunny "you had to be there to get it" story. ?
Went to the thrift store to see what book treasures they may have and didn‘t find anything but DID find these little treasures!!!!!! #classiccomedy #wentforbooksbutgotdvds
I just finished the audio version of this book. I loved hearing Carol Burnett tell her story. I have so many fond memories of watching her show.

Pup and a good book ❤️
Thank you so much @BrainyHeroine for the wonderful Christmas present!! Carol Burnet is one of my favorites and can‘t wait to dive into it! (Plus I have never done an audiobook and wanted to do so in 2018 so this is absolutely perfect!!) 🤓💖🤓
The Carol Burnett Show was one of the highlights of television back in the late 1960s and early 1970s! This book shares Ms. Burnett‘s memories of making the show. #ComedyQueen
I made the #manpanion watch The Carol Burnett special instead of the game. I am a rabid Carol Burnett fan. That was the funniest show EVER.
She is the reason I started watching classic movies. Her spoofs made me want to watch the originals.
I had 2 audible credits to use up.
I still need to get the physical version of In Such Goid Company. I ❤️❤️❤️Carol Burnett!!
Loving this so far!! Still playing catch up on my ARC's. Is this cheating if I am listening to it instead. 😂
I was looking forward to this immensely. In actuality, though I love the show, many of the movies and actors she talks about at length in this audio book - I have no reference for. I am surprised to say I am too young! I ended up skipping a few sections because of this. #AudioMemoir
Rough week here. Took a weird tumble and had to get a new hip. Ugh! And I thought I was too young for this stuff. The good news: I'm home now, I'm feeling much better and I'm in the perfect position to read more! Thanks to authors Carol Burnett and Amy Poehler who have been great remedies for recovery. Hugs to all my Litten friends. Glad to be back online. Always remember to savor every precious step. 🤗
Another book club pick that made for great discussion, laughter and shared memories. It was fun learning some background to the show, but the sketches were more fun to watch on tv than to read in a book.
Another winner from Carol. Sorry about the poor quality picture.
I a little audio coloring while I listened to Carol. These are going to be great bookmarks. 😊
I grew up watching her show with my mom so I enjoyed the book. If you aren't a fan of the show I don't think it would be as interesting. It is a good look at how they used to do live TV back then however for a non-fan.
Some of the books we will be #GivingAsGifts this year. (I have at least one more to find for a little cutie on our list.) When I found out about Carol Burnett's new book I was thrilled to have something wonderful to give my mom this year! #12DaysOfXmasPhoto
I grew up watching the Carol Burnett show & adore her. I saw some interviews about this book & looking for a lighter book to listen to, I checked it out on Overdrive. If you're a fan & tv geek it is a delight hearing it read by Burnett w/pop-ins by some of the cast/crew & hearing details behind memorable sketches like 'Went With the Wind' & her curtain & curtain rod dress. It drags a bit at times in all the details but her charm makes up for it.👍
A must-read for any Carol Burnett fan! Only she has the timing, talent, and wit to pull back the curtain on the Emmy-Award winning Carol Burnett Show and share the stories of the guests, skits, and antics that made it legendary. This book is Burnett‘s love letter to a golden era in television through the lens of her brilliant show. Written with all the charm, wit, and humor that fans expect from this masterful entertainer. #CopperfieldsRecommends
