pickI see a lot of mixed reviews on this one but I liked it. Haven‘t read a book by Jewell I haven‘t liked. This one has a bit going on and I don‘t feel like all the characters stories were fleshed out but still an enjoyable thriller with an ending I didn‘t see coming.
pickOoooh, really good! This was a big cut above your average thriller. Things are not what they seem and I was completely absorbed in figuring out the truth about this small group of neighbors. I‘ve read a few books by Lisa Jewell but this is my new favorite!

pickA typical suburban area in Bristol. Home to doctors and teachers. Look closer behind the doors and it is not all that it seems. A street full of secrets ready to spill out. Focusing on Tom, the headteacher and his family and their neighbours.
This was such a clever play on what people see and how things can be taken out of context. The theme of being watched makes the book unputdownable. This kept me guessing right to the end.

pickThis TOTALLY made up for the dud of my last book. Full of intense, creepy vibes and cleverly intertwined, yet unexpected plot movement. Revelations unfold and pieces come together, right up until the last page.
pickI was in the mood for an interesting mystery and this scratched that itch!
so-soAnother kind of "meh" read for me. I enjoyed the shifting perspectives and the play on how each person is perceiving (and often misinterpreting) events.
But also, this holiday season has been pretty crappy for me and that may have clouded my experience. My sweet Nana unexpectedly passed away on Christmas morning so to say that it's been rough is an understatement. I'm glad that I was home to be with family, and grateful to books for their solace.

so-soI'm a sucker for suspense so of course I liked this but lots of questions about character development when reading. I did appreciate that I didn't know who the "bad guy" was until the end, as she definitely steers you off course throughout the story.

This is the kind of book in which the people you like in the beginning are the people you hate at the end, and vice versa.
pickRipped through this one in about 5 days. Really enjoyed it and didn't really know who had done what or really what was truly done. I like a book that can plausibly set up multiple people and I loved that the one watching was in fact not just one.
panI am not a fan of Lisa Jewell. This book has been on my shelf & needed read. I did try to like this book but I think the quotes that its 'twists' are unpredictable make me wonder if reviewers read the same book that I did. I really do not have anything positive to say about this book other than I think the cover art is pretty. This was ⭐⭐ read for me. I hate to dissuade anyone else from reading it but there are way better thrillers out there.
I'm just going to say it... I don't get why people think Lisa Jewell is such a great author. This book makes me want to rip my eyelids off. If it hadn't been on my shelf, there is no way I would have read it. Total slog. Swearing her off forever.

pickPsychological thrillers seem to be the only thing keeping my attention right now.
At first the story was hard to get into because there are jilt i please POVs. Normally that doesn‘t bother me but the chapters were really short so switching from one POV to POV so fast took awhile to get into that characters head. Other than that I really enjoyed this book. Usually I can guess the twist and I didn‘t! So win!

pickI'm pretty good at figuring out the who's and why's when it comes to mysteries and thrillers. But with Lisa's books there's always, always that one thing that I miss and the pure shock when I read it just blows my mind.
I love when authors take me by surprise like this, I love when I'm not right about the plot twist. And Lisa gives me this satisfaction every time.
