My local bookstore has a friends and family sale each year and this is the time I stock up on older (preferably used) books. I am super proud I kept to my budget of $80!
I couldn't find my copy of Jane Eyre and I have so many people talking about Wide Sargasso Sea I grabbed a new copy to read them in tandem this summer! I got into Patricia Highsmith last year and am excited to keep on with her deeper cuts, and I loved this cover of Graham Greene

My best friend from 6th grade and I just spent 2 days in Portland. Mostly we just went to Powell's. It was magical.

Congrats on reaching 20K @BennettBookworm My favorite bookstore has to be Powell‘s in Portland Oregon. It‘s huge and always has what I‘m looking for and then some.

Just ordered a stack of books I've been looking for - some for ages from Powells. I wish I could just go there, but then I'd go broke. Shipping is free though and they will arrive the day after my birthday. So, happy birthday to me... soon enough.

No trip to Portland is complete without an afternoon getting lost in Powell's... I used extreme self control and walked out with only two books!

When in Portland…

Yesterday we went on a road trip to one of my happiest places on earth… Powell‘s Books! Was so caught up in the moment that I didn‘t get any pictures, but here‘s part of my haul.

Since mid April I‘ve been practicing feeling better through retail therapy. I encourage clients to not use this form of therapy but I‘m awful at taking my own good advice 🤷🏻‍♀️

Pictured are a good size portion of recent book purchases. The lower stack is from an impromptu visit to Powell‘s last Sunday. Books make me feel better. Looking at them, buying and reading them. My favorite form of self care.

I MAY have blown past my intended number of books bought, thereby blowing up my resolution. BUT, I expect this will be my only trip to Powell‘s this year and I have 12 months to rectify it, so I‘m justified. 😬 Right?
