This was cute! It was a very slow burn, as others have pointed out. I liked it overall!

This is about how I feel about most romance novels 😆 #LGBTQ
Oh my goodness I loved this book. The right amount of slow burn and steaminess. I wish I could read it again for the first time
#audiopuzzling today while the kids play at my in-laws' house
Spent yesterday finishing up this #LMPBC pick by the pool. Loved this slow burn romance between a Hollywood show runner and her assistant!
@Johanna414 it should get to you within the week!

This book was a little slow at times but it was cute. I also like how it showcased strong women. I mailed this out yesterday @peanutnine so you should get it next week! @GondorGirl @Johanna414 #lmpbc group j
Apparently I am physically unable to write in a book. Which is a little awkward... 😅 I guess I'm going to be creative with highlighting strips and post it notes.

This was decent. Lots of the lesbian angst that is present in lots of gay relationships, spesh considering the timeline of this book is kinda long! I dno, I enjoyed the writing but some moments were pretty cringe to me. Good single steamy bit tho, if you‘re into that sorta thing in your romance novels!
#LMPBC #GroupJ I made a B&N run and picked out a few things that sounded good. Have you folx read any of these or have thoughts?

This book always gives my heart a hug. I love Emma and Jo fumbling their way toward each other, and Wilsner's devotion to making sure their original boss/employee relationship never becomes predatory or weird. Such an underrated gem! #contemporaryromance
Jo is a actress/producer/writer for a TV show and Emma is her assistant. They attend the SAG awards and the media say the 2 of them are together. It takes them almost the entire book to even admit they like each other. Emma is awful. She calls Jo "Boss" the majority of the time, so they're not exactly friends, but spends 60+ pages being upset with Jo for not telling her she hangs out with Emma's sister at their nephew's baseball game.
I can‘t say I disliked this book, but it lacked that particular SPARKLE. The romance burns so slow that it feels more like general fiction with a romantic component, and the characters‘ chemistry never solidified for me. I liked each individual element but wanted them to coalesce into something with more oomph.
I‘m doing the new day, new book thing again. I sure hope this one clicks for me. I‘ve had my eye on it since it hit NetGalley, way back when.
I have read all of these and they all have their appeal. All are contemporary romances except for the Malinda Lo, which is YA and historical fiction. More info in the comments. #LMPBC #GroupL
Loved this book 💜 Emma is actor and producer Jo's assistant and friend, but this is disrupted when rumours start that they are dating! I really loved how it dealt with sexual harassment and sexuality, but Emma and Jo's constant avoidance of communication had me groaning throughout. Overall I'd say 4⭐ - really fun to read but a predictable gushy romance

⭐️⭐️/5 I enjoyed that there were LGBTQ+ main characters. But otherwise, the characters had absolutely no development or personality. I wanted so badly to like this, but It was just... not good.
The only thing getting me through the last week of the election is romance and romcom. What have you loved lately? What do I need to add to my list?
This book was an absolute delight from beginning to end! I love the slow burn and how carefully drawn and real the characters were. And I loved having Avery as a stand-in for the audience! 😍
This is a delight so far. I think @CaseyTheCanadianLesbrarian wrote the review that made me hold it at the library? It‘s just making me smile.
I love the diversity, the feminism, the speaking out against workplace sexual harassment. I love an actual f/f romance and think we need more. But if I‘m completely honest (and I was warned of this ahead of time) this was just way too slow of a slow burn romance for me. Lots of in the heads of the main characters, repeating thoughts and doubts... to finally get to where we want and that‘s it - the end. #bookspinbingo
A wonderful f/f romance, but not swoon worthy. The two main characters and their circumstance are interesting but there‘s no tension between them like I‘d expect in a romance. I had next to no emotional reaction to what was happening unlike the other romance‘s which gave me a ton of emotions.
But I think this book helps to fill a gap in books in general, not just the romance genre. f/f romance/relationships are still hard to come by even in 2020.
I was really anticipating this f/f romance. And it really left me wanting.
There just wasn‘t much here to sink my teeth into. It‘s a S U P E R S L O W burn romance, if you could even call it that. It really started to get tedious as the book went on.
Also, it just didn‘t seem like there was much personality or pizazz to the book or characters. On paper, I‘m sure it has everything but it just didn‘t hold up in the book.
So bummed about this one.
This was one of my most anticipated romances of the year and it didn‘t wow me as much as I wanted. It was definitely a slow burn, so part of it may have just been what I was in the mood for. But, I also felt like the characters could fall a little flat and the plot didn‘t have much propulsion to it. It was lots of slow burn dancing around each other.
Hello lovelies! A couple of months ago I restarted my blog and have dived head first into book blogging/reviewing! But I‘ve forgotten to keep up posting here so I‘ll be posting quite a bit over the next couple of days playing catch up.
Right now I‘m currently reading Something To Talk About and enjoying it so far! Have you read it? What did you think?
P.S. You can check out my blog by following the link in my bio!
I loved this book so much! I was completely and utterly captivated and just couldn't stop listening. The audio production is fantastic, too!
Total must-read for June (Audiobook Month and Pride Month!)

I'm conflicted. On the surface there's a lot to like here - a sweet, well written Hollywood love story featuring a F/F couple. But it had a frustratingly slow pace. Like, sooooo slow. I can't even really use the term "slow burn" because there was hardly any burn to speak of. If more of a PG/PG13 romance appeals to you, this will probably fit the bill. But I'd be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed.
A cute romance novel about a female writer and show runner who gets photographed with her female assistant and people think they are dating. Also maybe they are falling in love.
A bunch of my library holds recently came in! Challenge accepted 💪🏽
I hate read the last quarter of this and skimmed the last couple of pages. It gets a so-so because I chuckled a couple of times. There was a massive amount of heat missing from this book. I‘m not even talking about sex scenes. I couldn‘t get invested because I was too pissed off being bored by repetition masquerading as angst instead using time for character development. There‘s also some workplace behaviors that gave me pause. Just mostly a no.
Jo is a Chinese American actor turned show runner who never comments on her love life. Her assistant, a Jewish, bisexual younger woman helps get her through all her stressful days. When a tabloid rumor spreads that they are romantically linked, it stresses them both out, but causes them to wonder if there is something there. If you need something lighter, something happy, something LGBT friendly- I highly recommend this book. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
So delightful.
Content warning for workplace harassment.
Also, if you're playing #RippedBodiceBingo could count for piece of jewelry on the cover.
this was such a sweet and fun read that is very pro feminism and calling out sexual harassment in Hollywood...and has a ton of rep in it! Bisexual and lesbian characters in a f/f romance with one being Jewish and one being Chinese.

This is my debut author book for #ReadWithMrBook @MrBook. Reads as if written by seasoned writer. The story follows Jo, a Hollywood starlet, who is seen with her assist on the red carpet in what appeats to be an intimate moment. This has the rumor mill going. There is nothing going on between them... or is there? Well written characters and some drama makes for a great beach read. 4⭐ My full review is on my blog at www.thespineview.com.

This is only my second entry. Your feedback is appreciated.
I had so much fun researching and writing about 2020 #BisexualBooks (bi women specifically). Including the tagged book; Girl, Serpent, Thorn by Melissa Bashardoust; Unconquerable Sun by Kate Elliott, The Henna Wars by Adiba Jaigirdar, Once You Go This Far by Keisten Lepionka, and more! #QueerBooks #LGBTQBooks #LGBTQ https://bookriot.com/2020/05/19/bisexual-women-books-of-2020/
This delightful, so real queer romance absolutely exceeded my expectations. A Hollywood love story between a showrunner & her assistant done so thoughtfully, addressing boss/employee power dynamics. Slow burn! The characters (Jewish bi woman & Chinese American lesbian) were authentic, flawed, funny and vulnerable. Career and sexual harassment subplots were excellent. Snarky side characters too! I will never hear the term "yes, boss" the same way.
My dog is sleeping on the book on my lap. I guess she thinks reading is too much of a distraction from petting her haha.
1.Loved the chemistry between Jo and Emma
2.Loved the way Wilsner handled the boss/employee power imbalance
3.I just loved it!
Although I was ready to throw my kindle towards the end waiting for these two to admit their feelings for each other, I am just too impatient for slow burns, I enjoyed watching them fall in love. Read this is if you love workplace romances, slow burn romances, or awards shows!

Available on Libby starting May 26th!
Such exciting #BookMail today! Berkeley romance's first f/f romance, a slow slow burn set in Hollywood with bi and lesbian representation, as well as Chinese American and Jewish main characters. Can't wait to read this! #QueerBooks #LGBTQBooks #LGBTQ #BisexualBooks
Sadly, I didn't love this debut as much as I wanted to; I thought it wouldn't be an issue but I actually ended up being really squicked out by the supervisor-employee relationship with the two leads. (Totally a personal thing; Wilsner really works hard to address that and make sure that Emma, as the employee, has a lot of agency and doesn't have her work compromised because Jo's feelings toward her.) See my entire review at my blog.
