These are cute. This might be my favorite in the series (though I have not read book 4 yet).

Me and this book are sitting at the car dealership because jump starting the battery at the grocery store isn't cute.
This is such a well written book, very historically accurate & therefore sad.
Lucie is devoted to the Cause and she and her friends are determined to get their report to print - but she doesn‘t contend with the wiles and skills of her unwanted partner in printing and what they can learn from each other.
This is one of the best romance books I‘ve read. I really enjoyed it but it is also sad and kind of scary given current events. 4/5
This was no more and no less than what I expected. An entertaining romp with a small side of historical facts about Britain‘s Married Women‘s Property Act. It is a gentle reminder of the women who came before who paved the way.

Happy Pride month! Excited for June‘s Bingo board. The tagged book is a quadruple play as it‘s my #BookSpin, #Titles&Tunes, #14Books14Weeks and #SeriesLove23 and the Le Guin is a double play for #AuthorAMonth and #DoubleSpin.
Love is love so let‘s spread it around! 🌈
I‘ve now read 2 out of the series & plan on reading the rest. Good, fun, light read surrounding the women‘s marriage act of 1880 in England. Lucie and her fellow suffragettes are continuing to try & raise public awareness through print. Lucie comes up against Lord Ballantine from her childhood. I‘ve enjoyed the series so far. I do also enjoy the historical accuracy that Dunmore uses in her stories. #bookspin book

My book guilty pleasure is historical romance. Light with maybe a few interesting facts thrown in. They are usually fast and fun and make a great palate cleanser when experiencing a book hangover. Rogue is also on my #14Books14Weeks list.
And I 💜 me some Backstreet Boys regardless of the crap I get from family. Song pick: I Want it that Way
Looking forward to a new playlist. I LOVED the May choices!
I liked this romance between a suffragette and a roguish lord - it was charming with just the right level of more-or-less believable angst. TI also appreciated that the HEA didn‘t throw away the heroine‘s principles 😂 However, I didn‘t love it partly because I‘m not a fan of the whole ‘I‘ll give you what you want if you spend a night with me‘ trope. A soft pick.
These novels are the perfect escape. There is nothing like a cloudy day with a cup of tea and a League of Extraordinary Women novel.
I love the unapologetic feminism of Dunmore‘s series; what a great take on the typical historical romance. I really loved how she ended this one. It did feel a bit long and took me a surprisingly long time to get through, although being sick with Covid definitely didn‘t help - did not feel like reading at all. Really glad to be mostly through it! #romantsy
I loved spending more time with the League of Extraordinaryw Women! The angsty push and pull between Lucie and Tristan is wonderful and their banter is even better! Can‘t wait to read the next installment! #BookspinBingo @TheAromaofBooks
Made it through these over the weekend… not my genre but I can see how they are loved …I gave them to the used bookstore today 💛 for credit…
I like the topics in this books a bit more than the steam - a suffragette woman fighting particularly for a married woman‘s right to retain her own money and not be owned by a man for whatever purposes he saw fit, and a roque who sympathizes and supports the plight of women. The books are just a bit too long for me making the banter grow old. Still a pick because I knew what I was getting into with book two.
This was such a good book! I couldn't put it down. Tristan and Lucy's relationship was so flirtatious/angsty and oh my gosh, the ENDING! The last three-four chapters, I was obsessed! When Lucy caught Tristan with her cousin and at the house! She was a total boss! I loved the plot and the way Evie Dunmore didn't overpower the story with feminism, but still made it a prominent theme. I loved it.
As usual, it has taken me some time to eventually start reading this series. And although I am going backwards (3 - 2 - 1) I am truly enjoying these well researched feminist historical romances.
5/5 stars
This is the second book in the A League of Extraordinary Women. And it concerns Lady Lucie who is kind of the leader of the Oxford suffragettes. I really enjoy this series and each book is about a different women. It fun, steamy and women trying to better the standards for all women.
I‘m a grumpy little princess today, but I have a delightful book, so my spirits will lift once I get to read. 🤷🏻♀️ #arogueofonesown #eviedunmore #aleagueofextraordinarywomen #womenssuffrage
Can‘t put these historical romance books down 🤣🤣 now I have to wait for the third one “Portrait of a Scotsman” out on September 7. I think it will be Hattie‘s turn next
Slightly addictive
Not a story that hasn‘t been written before, but this is a well done book with easy to like characters and a fun plot.
What‘s this? A BINGO! Finally 😆 Between a pick and a so so. Didn‘t feel this couples chemistry much and just didn‘t really like either of the MCs. Still kept my interest. I love these covers! Im much more excited for the next one in the series. #bookspinbingo
I really liked the 1st one in this series but something just happened in this one that really bugs me. Aren't these Historical Romances supposed to be written with Modern Day Sensibilities in mind? Will put the quote in comments so as not to spoil.
Wow! I absolutely loved and devoured this audiobook. I‘ve literally been sitting on the couch playing video games for 6 hours just so I could finish this one today. I absolutely LOVED Lucy and Tristan. I‘m so glad I read this one, as I almost wasn‘t going to read the rest of this series. I‘m hoping Hattie is the next story, though I also wouldn‘t mind Katrina having a romance as well!
I will definitely put the next one on my list!
Second in this romance series. A woman needs to gather support for suffrage. And there is a man who could help who offers her a deal she can‘t take.
I was super impressed with this follow-up to Bringing Down the Duke. In fact, I found myself liking this story and MC Lucie even more. The title‘s allusion to Virginia Woolf‘s essay is very appropriate, as Lucie‘s work revolves around getting the Married Property Act amended, and ensuring her financial independence. The relationship between the love interests is also well done. Now excited for the 3rd installment, coming out in 2021!
⭐️⭐️⭐️ for this one. It was just okay. I appreciated the strong female main character and her passion and drive to fight for women‘s rights. I really liked that the ending respected that sentiment, as well. Overall though, there was just something missing for me. Some parts felt a bit slow and I could have used more romantic scenes. I‘ll likely still continue with this series, though!
Saved the last chapter for 2021, and finished up right after midnight! I am really starting to love this series featuring British suffragettes, and can‘t wait for the next installment!
Happy New Year, Littens! 🙌🏽🎉🥳

My Goodreads Year in Books!
I have one chapter left in my current read. Deciding if I should finish it to get a nice 125 books for the year, wait till tomorrow to get a head start on 2021, or finish it tonight but pretend I didn‘t so it will count in next year‘s challenge? 🤣
Dr Hubby is on call at the hospital, which means #HelloKitty has taken over the middle of the bed. 😹 She‘s hogging the blanket. #catsofLitsy
⭐️⭐️⭐️ part of why I didn‘t love this one as much as book 1-my expectations/hopes were very high. This was a good book, well written, strong characters, definite character development & the romance grew in a way that made sense. However, I didn‘t like either of the main characters that much, especially Tristan, so that also made it hard to fully lose myself in the story. I‘m still interested in the series & look forward to book 3 next year!
Friday‘s #FeastMode read was the latest in Evie Dunmore‘s “League of Extraordinary Women” series. I love these books so much! The extraordinary women are suffragists in England and the books see them finding love and figuring out how to fight for women‘s equality while balancing their desires for romance and partnership. They‘re just perfect.
Adding this here so I can add this book. Nothing to see here. Move along. Also great book. #goodreadsnominee
I really enjoyed this one! I thought it was better than the first in the series even though that one was good too. I found Lucie and Tristan to be more compelling characters and I loved the publishing house plot line.
Trying to catch up on my #botm selections. I liked this book and thought it better than the first in the series.
*Editing my review on this one. I picked it back up@again this week and finished it. I read the 1st of this series and loved it. This one was was just okay for me. I didn‘t love the main characters, but it did finish as okay for me. I am glad I finished, and will give the 3rd book a try when it comes out.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Another great book from Evie Dunmore. I loved Bringing Down the Duke more, but this one was still very enjoyable. I love reading about the women‘s sufferage movement in these books. The female leads are very relatable. Lucie‘s anger and passion remind me of the drive I had in my early 20‘s to be an independent woman. 😊 This is one of the best historical romance series I‘ve read in awhile.
Feminist romance is the BEST romance. Loved this!
I was not a fan of Tristan at all for the first half of the book and wasn‘t so sure he could be redeemed by the end but I feel dumb for doubting because OF COURSE he could. As a card-carrying feminist is there anything hotter than a feminist man who supports your cause? Evie Dunmore knows what she‘s doing! ♥️👏🏼
