Interesting premise. Lots of twists and turns
If someone you loved was sexually assaulted, and killed—and their attacker uncharged, left to live their life, how would you feel? Camille is such a woman, who in the midst of her grief, finds a secret group on the dark web that allows her and others, to take justice into their own hands. She soon finds out it is not what she thought it was, and that there is a higher price that must be paid. Secrets must be kept at all costs. How far will ⬇️
Morally ambiguous look at grief and revenge. I should have bailed but the concept was interesting enough to keep me going. Our protagonist is grieving from the death of her daughter. Even worse, the perpetrator of the crime was never convicted. She finds solace in a group on the dark web but quickly gets in over her head in an effort to bring her daughter‘s killer to justice. Wasn‘t a fan of the mc and her choices making it hard to enjoy.

Omg first time with this author- thought I hated the ending, but the more I think about it, the more it kinda fits. 5 star read despite the slow start. 🐌
If you haven‘t read this one you should!! How far would you go for justice if your child was murdered and the killer went free? This book is so unique and I loved it! I sent the author some questions and she kindly answered! I know it‘s hard to read, but I wanted to share! 📚❤️

I‘m surprised that I have not read anything by Gaylin. This was definitely a page turner. #bookspin @TheAromaofBooks
Even if not distracted while reading this story, I would not have seen this ending coming! Why the distraction, you ask!? Reading about Camille pulled into the Collective on the dark web, I couldn‘t help but consider the many IRL folk disenfranchised for countless reasons and finding safety and power within the vast numbers in their conspiracy groups. But as Gaylin describes, safety and power do not equal insight.
I had to interrupt the hubby sneaking candy for him to draw a name!!! Congratulations Desha 🎊🎈❤️🎆 you are the winner of the first giveaway!! I will send you The Collective later this week!!

Definitely a page turner and a unique twisty thriller! I really enjoyed it and it ended the way I suspected it would… really the only way it could have 🤷🏻♀️ If you‘re in the mood for something different I would recommend this one! ❤️🖤

We found the perfect reading spot in the loft with the sound of rain hitting the roof! So many beautiful spots in the cabin! Last night was my first Polish meal and the cabbage rolls were delicious 😋 I‘ve got all my books jotted down for #roll100, I‘ve just got to write them neatly in my bullet journal 📔
We made it to the mountains! The top 3 books are ours! This is the same cabin we stayed in last year and it‘s so beautiful 🏔️❤️

What are you reading?
Camille‘s daughter is murdered in a manner ripped from the headlines. Her grief is consuming her, she loses her therapist & cliche positivity from online support groups aren‘t helping …until she joins a “sisterhood” on the dark web. She appreciates a being able to voice her true thoughts, until it becomes more than just venting.
Twisty. Very dark exploration of grief & vengeance.
1 more week to finish all the Christmas prezzies 🌟🦋
I‘m trying to catch up on my #BOTMBacklog to get that extra challenge prize- and I flew through this one! Camille‘s grief over her daughter‘s death hasn‘t ebbed in five years- but after a business card comes her way, she may have found just the right outlet for her rage- or should she be a little concerned about this new group of women? A pageturner with surprises big and and small to the plot, I couldn‘t put it down!
What do you do when the justice system fails you? How far would you go for revenge?
This was exactly what I wanted from a mystery-thriller while #audiocleaning my house.

I absolutely flewwww through this book. It was phenomenal. The ending was quite the twist. I highly recommend this thriller.

This book is just slowly blowing my mind. It is so so good. I haven't been this obsessed with a book in a long time.
#FirstLineFridays @ShyBookOwl
After a slow first couple of chapters, it's a fast-paced read which effortlessly kept my attention throughout the rest of the book. The book posits some interesting questions for the main character - how far would you go to see that someone who killed a loved one faced punishment if the law failed to? Is there a line you wouldn't cross or a point where you would feel that things had gone far enough?
(Continued in comments)
I kind of wish it was a full length novel because there's a really good premise here which didn't work for me in 30 pages but I think it would in 300.
When a celebrity couple's daughter goes missing, the world goes into a spin.
I like the characters a lot, I think I just needed more from this as I'm left unsatisfied.
This is part of the Hush collection.
At the time of posting this collection is available on Kindle Unlimited.
Ok...I was not expecting that ending...
This was a great thriller. It kept me hooked from the beginning and had me wondering how Camile was going to get out of her situation.

I loved Gaylin‘s Brenna Spector series, but I wasn‘t sure about this living up to my expectations (I‘m thinking about another Chelsea Cain situation here I think - something just kinda good after a series that I was obsessed with) So far, though, I‘m wrong - and might finish this in one sitting because I need to know what‘s happening next!! (PS hi unicorn comfy pants!)

This was a very interesting and twisty thriller that focuses on revenge, and lots of murder. I found the plot unique in which its fast pace kept me engaged. I honestly didn‘t expect so many plot twists at the end but holy guacamole the last one was a doozy. This book had me guessing until the last pages!
I wanted to like this book more than I did. It was a unique thriller and I did enjoy the twist at the end. However, it was hard to suspend belief of some of the characters actions. Not sure exactly what part of the book kept me from loving it, but it still was a decent read.
Camille‘s daughter died three years ago of hypothermia after being left in the cold by her rapist. Camille continues to carry hatred for him and finds a group of like-minded, revenge-focused women. She goes down a rabbit hole that becomes more and more sinister. This is a fun thriller with a real bang at the end. I really enjoyed it!
4⭐
A decently written thriller with a decidedly different plotline that kept my interest throughout. The story centers around revenge-filled angry mama's and brings into question; does someone who brought about the death of your child deserve to die, too? Overall, a worthwhile listen and the twist at the end was definitely something.
I am learning that I really love revenge stories. Specifically women‘s revenge. I flew through this one and absolutely loved it. Only criticism I have is the ending, the reason for all this to have started, was not what I would have chosen. But still loved it anyway!
This was a very fast read, I finished it in less than 24 hours. A revenge thriller revolving around women who have lost a child. I enjoyed it though I had suspicions about the twist. 4⭐️ #botm
#PopSugar - a book about a secret
#bookspinbingo - another bingo!
Went through this one quickly! A woman who‘s lost her daughter from a privileged young man joins an online group that exacts revenge on those who have murdered their children. This was well paced & you cared for the lead as she navigates this group & it had a surprising ending. Would make a great movie. I would read more from Gaylin. Might check out some of her previous books. I recommend this one.
Pretty good psychological thriller! Entertaining on audio. The narrator did a really good job.
The book is about a secret group of mothers that join forces. Each woman has suffered through the agony of the death of their children. They come together to take revenge on the people who are at fault for their deaths. There is some twists as the story progresses and you learn there is more to this group of women than meets the eye.
I didn't enjoy it much: a "pop corn" book. Entertaining but shallow.
This is my favorite book from #November. A secretive group of women who have all lost children, but whose killers have gone unpunished, dispense their own brand of justice in this page-turner. The ending was 😲!

My November pick for #12BooksOf2021 hosted by @Andrew65
This was crazy good, and I couldn't put it down! I will be picking it for a book club read in the future!
This is a dark thriller that kept me both uneasy and intrigued. The Collective is a group of women who connect anonymously over the dark web seeking justice for people who killed their children but didn‘t receive proper punishment. Camille has been grieving her daughter‘s death for 5 years while consumed with anger over the lack of punishment for her killer. She finds a new sense of purpose with The Collective.
The ending was good.
I am so sad it ended this way. It wasn't a bad ending, in fact, I think it is the ending the book needed, just not the one I wanted. #WinterGames2021 #TeamGameSleighers #TBR @StayCurious #WrapItUpReadathon #Wintercosy #AVeryMerryReadathon @keys_on_fire @PuddleJumper @TheSpineView

What would you do if you thought someone killed your teenage daughter?
REVENGE! VENGEANCE! JUSTICE!
Cam is a bit nuts. Follow her story as she digs her way out of depression following her daughter‘s death and enjoy the ending!
TWs typical of this sort of book. (Cover buy)

My favorite thing about this time of year....reading under the glow of Christmas lights. 😍🎄
I decided I should read a few Christmas books to officially kick off the Christmas season, but now I‘m back to my favorite genre, thriller! So far, this book has me hooked! It‘s quick and easy to ready. Also, I‘m not sure the Angel on my tree is going to survive my cats😂🎄
This was much more nuanced than I thought it would be. This is a revenge thriller but it actually is more thoughtful. It has a surprise but is a bit of a cautionary tale. Very hard to put down. I thoroughly enjoyed this.
