August had some very good reads and it was between this one and Not Forever, But For Now by Chuck Palahniuk. This one I actually enjoyed more and didn‘t feel like I needed a brain scrape afterwards. 😅 As I said originally, it honestly feels like a Coen Brothers movie, I laughed out loud several times. Will very likely reread this one someday.

Life has been hectic the last few weeks, to the point that I can barely remember the last time I cracked a book. Hoping things slow down soon so I can enjoy what's usually my favorite month of the year. 🎃🍁

I assume this book will do about what my last novel did and sell 300-400 copies, which equates to fewer royalties than you'd think between bookstore returns and the different rates between physical books, Kindle, KU, etc. Plus I end up spending most of my royalties on marketing anyway, so I really do end up "penniless" ? Which is fine - it's a hobby for me, so I'm more concerned with maximizing readers than making money. 8mo

I have to say I really loved this book. It feels a lot like a Coen brothers movie or a Twilight Zone episode. The characters are really well written so that even for a short read, I feel like I can picture them all perfectly. Colleen is my favorite. I laughed out loud several times. The dialogue feels real and I love the author‘s descriptive style. ⬇️

MegaWhoppingCosmicBookwyrm I like how there‘s not a pretty little bow tied up by the end. Life isn‘t like that, and I think this story does a fantastic job of showing how everyone is always on their own journey, doing their best from womb to grave. 8mo

This is a character-driven story, and the author does setting up the characters and getting them down the road. It‘s fairly predictable (there's a major clue in the back cover summary) but despite the fact it's easy to figure out what's what, it actually had a little bit of a (sad) twist at the end that I hadn't expected. A fun, easy read.

It's a little confusing, something like $.0043 for every page of my book that you scroll through. I think a physical sale or regular Kindle download probably pays slightly more, but in the end I'm more concerned with how many people read/own it, so whatever works best for you is fine by me. MegaWhoppingCosmicBookwyrm I‘m pretty good, been busy with two jobs and trying to keep up with the Wyrmling. He‘s already had his first birthday! 😱 He surprises us everyday with something new. He loves when I read to him and recently he‘s been going over to his bookshelf and selecting which board book he wants me to read next. SOMETIMES I can even get him to put one back before he gets another. 😅❤️ 10mo
