1. This week‘s baseball joy: the hockey team‘s anthem singers came to Nationals Park to sing O Canada on cinco de mayo.
2. This is problematic in the bigger scheme of things, but it‘s always a joy to see deer outside my door.
3. Zendaya‘s first gown for the Met Gala gave me joy.
4. It was a joy to sit on the patio reading and drinking ginger ale.
5. It‘s always a joy to walk around the lake, but especially this time of year.

I found this #Canadian 🇨🇦 Reading Challenge today by a woman I follow on Instagram (@bookishcanuck) (she‘s not on Litsy). I‘m going to try and follow this one. It‘s called # TrueNorthReads. I didn‘t do any challenges last year at all so want to try and get to a few this year. Bummer the Reading Women Challenge is no more. I tried to do that one every year.

Canadian Littens 🇨🇦🇨🇦📚📚 Does anybody subscribe to a monthly book box?? Looking for recommendations.... Winter‘s got me wanting more books

Cheering on Canadian athletes in South Korea from the host city of the 2010 Winter Olympic Games, which were very spring like (cherry blossoms were out at the Art Gallery; was warm even by Vancouver standards). Got this shirt from the HBC downtown Vancouver location after standing in line for an hour to get Canadian Olympic gear.

I would like to explain why I would like my Canadian book to be based in WW1.

The actual prompt is: A book that takes place where an ancestor has lived.

The above screenshot gives details of my ancestor who moved to Canada before the war for a job, but died fighting for the country in 1916.

🇨🇦 So I live in the US, but my company is getting some business in Canada and I'm going to be the manager for the people we hire that live/work there. Realizing I know NOTHING really about Canada except how great Trudeau seems.

Any book recs? Looking for nonfiction or fiction but I'd like to read things that give me a feel for the culture & history. 🇨🇦
