In the 3rd Harry Dresden novel, Harry takes on his most formidable opponent yet. It is going to take a few of his friends to help defeat this particular monster, they call Nightmare. Fast-paced, with Harry‘s sardonic and sarcastic wit throughout, this one was a fast read for being 465 pages. Definitely enjoyed it and will continue the series! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 #serieslove2023 #deweyoct
Started this one this morning. I‘m 156 pages (35%) in and hooked. What is Harry Dresden up against in this mail biter?! Something bigger and more powerful than he‘s faced previously. ❤️📚
The spirit world has gone nuts. Harry has to play Ghostbusters with Michael.
The vampires are having a costume party.
Harry's friends are in peril and he has little magic left to cast the next spell.
I think I need to binge the next book now.

I really enjoyed this book more than the previous two. The whole stalking vampires/evil godmother plot line is fascinating and watching Harry outwit them (with great difficulty!) is fun. I also like his righteous (literally) new sidekick, Michael. His morality is a great foil for Harry‘s bad-boy persona. I definitely intend to continue this series!
Doing a little #LunchtimeReading today. This is another good installment in the Dresden Files #series!
Omg loved this #themeread for #scarathlon2021 and the vamps in it scored me a second #bingo with #bookspinbingo being the first one. #allthepoints #teamhendrix @Clwojick @StayCurious
This book is the 3rd installment in the Dresden Files series. Love the character of Harry Dresden as a wizard for hire. Great plot and lots of action. My only problem is there is too much action. At the halfway point I was starting to crave more. While I enjoyed it, I am not in a rush to read the next installment. Glad I got my copy from the library. 3.5ish ⭐ Note: I did round up on GoodReads since I felt it was better than 3.

📙 Just started Grave Peril.

🎧 Michael … Harry called him “the right arm of God” … has lost his sword.
I‘m loving this series reread. Michael is an excellent companion/helper for Harry. This book made me think I skipped a book.
This book‘s monster is … ghosts.
There‘s more magic & the vampire court politics & Harry‘s godmother & Susan, Tom, Lea.
This book has the most going on so far & characters show growth! Book 4 is on wait list so .. Dark Tower!

I greatly enjoyed my reread of this one. The series definitely kept getting better as it evolves.
The vampires play a big role in this one.
James Marsters is still very much the reason I listen to this because to me, he is Harry!
I just don't think I can do the character the same justice that Marsters does as he acts the scenes out. The weariness, the heavy press of a case, the overall ugh from the hits and bruises that blossom on his skin as he gets himself into trouble. Marsters for me is one reason why I'll be going on with the series.
I love how fast paced and quick witted these books are! Each one is so different from the one before it but could easily be read in any order. Recently recommended the series to my brother and he‘s hooked as well!
🤣
Hey new book friends, I just posted a video doing a review on the Dresden files, Grave Peril. If you have time please watch it, and also if you have a little more time, let me know how I can improve. I‘m finally learning how to edit better and use texts and things like that. Hope y‘all enjoy and here‘s the link:

I‘ll say I loved it. I‘m really enjoying reading the Dresden files and really getting into it. Harry Dresden is such a strong main protagonist, and the side characters like Michael and the rest. Good inclusion of Christian elements without being hateful. Vampires, ghosts, demons and a whole lot more. A few minor issues. Minor issues with writing style. Below link to my YouTube video.

I dnf‘d Needful Things (ages terribly) and am on the fence about Death by Dumpling (really wanted to love it) so I finally gave in to my friend‘s insistence that I continue with the Dresden Files. I can‘t read just one or two books at a time, of course. 😂

I just couldn‘t go on with this series. Too demonic for my tastes and much too real.
Great story with lots of plot building for the series. Many exciting and fun moments - ghosts, a holy knight, and vampires!
Sorry Mr.Dresden, I think this one kinda drops a little. And I do hate how female characters are portrayed.
But, but, but I‘m gonna continue on the next book. I still have high hopes for you. 😉
I love The Dresden Files, but Jim Butcher is one of those men who shouldn‘t be allowed to write about women. They are almost all beautiful, all breasts, and all about sex even when the situation is dire. It‘s boring. This one isn‘t one of my favorites either as it seems like two separate stories.

Saw this from @RestlessFickleBookHoarder ‘s post and I already signed up. 😁 I think I‘ll tackle down the Dresden Files series as many as possible. I‘m so glad it‘ll be 8 am to 8 am in my timezone (finally morning readathon)!
Anyone joining? 🙋🏽♀️

Have I mentioned how much I love these books. And I think what others have said it right. This book is brilliant and things really start to get going! I can‘t wait to read the 4th.
Been sitting waiting at the doctor for 3 hours. Why didn't I bring my ipad with book on it. So so so bored.
Today is the freezing promise of winter. It‘s a max of 15C and the promise of hail and possible thunder. I‘m sitting here with earphones in and crocheting my daughters blanket! Perfect!
Much better than the last book!! I am really enjoying this series so far. It has a wonderful cast of characters and I am loving the addition of Michael. Bob has still got to be my favorite though.
I have be listening to these on audio and I continue to be impressed with the narration. Marsters does a fantastic job of giving life to these characters.
I probably looked a little crazy laughing while I was shoveling snow today but these books can be very entertaining.
Audio booking while I shovel. This should keep me entertained. Winter can be over now!!
I live down the street from a cemetery and I always think of this quote, when I walk along its wall and wrought-iron fence 😀
I wanted to write one post on Litsy per day this year, but I'm already 5 days behind 😂 Ah well. I guess I'll need to catch up later.
I've been in the mood for the Dresden Files lately and have started a little re-read of the series. Maybe there will be some more news about the new volume Peace Talks until I'm done. Fingers crossed 😉
*excuse the language
Harry: "Holy shit! Hellhounds!"
Michael: "Harry, you know I hate it when you swear."
Harry: "You're right, sorry. Holy shit! Heckhounds."
??? Enjoying this series.
Mehhhh. I'm starting to think this series isn't for me. Conceptually, i should like it. Paranormal investigations, wizardry, a panoply of supernatural beings...but the writing, especially of the main character, drives me crazy. And gah the descriptions of woman *maximum eye roll* i might not pursue more. #mommyreads #fantasy #ghosts #vamps #ebook
I read the first two books multiple times because I wasn't impressed and I promptly forgot everything about them. Everyone who recommends this series to me says this is the book it starts getting good and to just stick it out. I obviously didn't and had to restart the series again and again. So I decided to just start reading this one and it's miles better than the other two. I'm still not sold on Butcher as a good writer, but I might continue on.
This was on my Pinterest wall yesterday...It remains my absolute favorite moment in The dresden Files and I think this was the moment I fell so very much in love with the series!???
Michael: " I can't believe you came to the vampire ball dressed as a vampire"
Harry: Not just a vampire...a cheesy vampire" ????
