vlwelser I like this. It's interesting. Her perspective definitely adds to the book. But it's not the most riveting thing ever. 3d

MallenNC @vlwelser The section for this week was very academic and focused on philosophy. Which made it harder to read. It did make me made to think that even “smart” people are susceptible to this kind of anti-fat bias. 3d

MallenNC I am not *enjoying* this exactly because the topic is a tough one but I like the way the author explains that what many think to be true is actually wrong like the accuracy of BMI or that being a higher weight automatically making someone less healthy. 1w

vlwelser @MallenNC that BMI nonsense is no joke. People actually use it like it's a real indication of anything. They were using it to sort us into covid vaccine groups. My friends mocked me for being the only one in the "normal" group 1w

Riveted_Reader_Melissa @vlwelser the number of times my doctor has told me the “lose 10% of your body weight” reduces the risk of xyz. I always thought that was BS, because there is no bottom there, you can always say that no matter what you lose and be told 10% again. And this book points out rightfully that those that lose regain back & often more and the dieting and regaining has more risks than the weight anyway. 🙄 1w

vlwelser I like that she points out the exercise bit. Like that actually makes you healthier. 1w

Just this sentence, in the intro… gutted me. I‘ve read her other books, they are very very excellent in-depth well-researched books. With so much to offer.

But this sentence alone, shows how our society works to silence women, just to make them so uncomfortable with themselves, that they balk at being “public”. That instinctual withdrawl silences whatever they would have said.

vlwelser I really liked this. It's a fast read. It had Herland vibes but it's also very sci-fi. I have no idea who's got it done and what would count as a spoiler. 3w

MallenNC This kind of book is not my favorite. I felt like there was a point, philosophically, and it was interesting to imagine what a person would be like if born in this circumstance. But I wanted more narrative. I‘ll put another thought as a spoiler 3w

MallenNC I did NOT like that there were no answers about where these women were and how this had happened. I did listen to the audiobook so it‘s possible I missed something but that annoyed me. I am a plot focused reader so this was hard for me. I‘m glad it was a short book. 3w

Suet624 This was a rare DNF for me. Too much of a real world feel for me. 3w

AllDebooks This was a very tough read. I can't say I enjoyed it, but I did think it was worth reading. The character development between the women was good. The child's progress was interesting, although the stroppy, sulky teen period was overdone. It was good to see her mature into a more pleasant person. 3w

AllDebooks @MallenNC I agree, no explanation was frustrating. 3w

Liz_M I like odd books that play with the conventions of a novel. I was relived there wasn't an explanation (I loved the world of Piranesi but when the situation was explained, it lost the magic ). I found the MC fascinating as well as a scenario that played with classic dystopias/utopias. I had trouble understanding the narrator's eventual framing of the world outside the bunker as another prison. Do we need the contrast of society to be free? 3w

Riveted_Reader_Melissa @vlwelser it usually works well for our fiction reads, which tends to work out well in the spring and winter holiday season. I little more laid back….so you can get out and do picnic, graduation, garden things when the weather is good…and then holiday get togethers, planning, shopping, cooking things. This one with no chapters or sections just said, nope no structure. 😂 2mo

Riveted_Reader_Melissa @vlwelser I know, I kind of prefer it for fiction myself. Non-fiction can be more difficult that way. At least for me and for denser reads, for me breaking them down into section seems to help. But as always it really does depend on the book. 2mo

Riveted_Reader_Melissa @vlwelser our last book could have worked really well as a end of the month discussion. Some of the more academically written it‘s nice to be able to talk about the specific things in different sections 2mo

vlwelser I think with the last book because it was so long we all ended up on different timelines. Which made discussing it slightly disjointed 2mo

vlwelser I really appreciated this book a great deal. The amount of research done on this fairly obscure historical icon is pretty stunning. I had no knowledge of this woman but she made so many impactful marks on the world. 2mo

staci.reads After reading about her nitariaty at the time and her impact on legislation, I am appalled, and saddened, that she became "lost" to history. It overwhelms me to think about how many women, who made such a difference, have been forgotten, and it makes me grateful for authors like this who are uncovering their stories. 2mo

MallenNC This is one of those books that I can‘t say I enjoyed because of the subject matter but I thought it was very well done and I glad to have learned about Elizabeth‘s life. Kate Moore does a great job with these parts of history 2mo

MallenNC I‘m actually on track for this one. I won‘t spoil (if you can spoil nonfiction) other than to say I was so impressed by her determination and the ways she found to use her voice and her writings to help herself and others. And the men in her life continue to be infuriating 2mo

staci.reads I finally got caught up. I really enjoyed reading about the trial. It was a little reaffirming to see people rally around the bleaknesses and infuriating first half. I also have found it interesting to see the varied reactions of her children once she is released considering their father's ongoing campaign to turn them against her. 2mo

Riveted_Reader_Melissa Me this week…the US is a mess. I am watching lots of news & doomscrolling….and reading lots of fluff novels as escapism. Then thinking how they would probably put me in an asylum for novel reading. 🥹 2mo

MallenNC I think the author did such a good job telling this story. This week‘s sections were tough bc they showed the reality of life in the asylum. And I felt such dread for Elizabeth throughout! And yes, it‘s scary how much some of this still echoes today. 2mo

vlwelser This book is incredibly detailed and while I appreciate that most of the time, I feel like I'm trying to rush through it. I feel so bad for Elizabeth and her babies. That husband is such a troll. And then he loses the job anyway! 2mo

Riveted_Reader_Melissa “The complaint also alleges that HB 710 expressly targets works that contain “any act of homosexuality,” including non-sexual acts like handholding and hugging between two characters of the same gender. According to the complaint, such a blatant restriction constitutes a violation of the First Amendment and the and Fourteenth Amendment‘s Equal Protection Clause.” So no mothers hugging your daughter in books I guess 🤪 2mo

Riveted_Reader_Melissa Well if you curate out anything to do with racism, gender, feminism, or transgender…you maybe are not curating a collection on a specific topic but removing a complete topic. For instance….race books out, Mein Kampf in…you could say more war history related…. But also out as feminism books about the underground movement of women in Afghanistan….which was probably pretty important in a fairly recent war. So I think it‘s the how, why, & ⤵️

My public library has the library, and a separate curated section on local history….but that does not mean they removed every book from the main library on any other subject. 3mo

shortsarahrose @ManyWordsLater - I‘ll add, as a library worker/person with a masters in library science, collection development has more to do with building a collection that reflects a wide range of viewpoints on any given topic - even those that we may not personally agree with or that the majority of our community may not agree with. Censorship is removing or refusing to purchase items that don‘t align with a certain view. 3mo

Riveted_Reader_Melissa And why on earth Maya Angelou needed to be cut, only makes sense if it‘s a military curated collection…. But I did not see any other books of American classics novels of that sort listed. Just hers. And I find it hard to believe there was only 1 classic literature book in the library. No Steinbeck for example.

Riveted_Reader_Melissa @Susanita right! I had heard about it when it happened, but today was the first time I had seen a complete list. Very interesting what topics the removed books seemed to be centered around. And so nice they included the topics for each books, and I‘m assuming the rational for pulling them. 3mo

ncsufoxes It‘s an odd collection of books, meaning it‘s kind of all over the place. A few repeated titles (some have different publication dates but some are repeated 2-3xs). There are only a few fiction books. I‘m surprised The 1619 Project wasn‘t on there. It is interesting to see what they find intimidating. My guess is whoever curated this list probably hasn‘t read one of these books. They probably used AI to generate the list. 3mo

Riveted_Reader_Melissa This book is infuriating, but well written and easily readable. And so much of it seems like things still important today. We still seem to call any woman with an opinion “crazy”, and based on elections in the US, women with opinions are still seen as odd, unnatural even 🤦‍♀️and should vote with their husbands 🫠, and now the new SAVE Act 🙄. Interesting to me how some of the impetuous for this was different opinions on slavery. 3mo

MallenNC I have meant to read this one since it came out but I knew it would make me so mad. It‘s very well written. I like that is narrative nonfiction, which is so much easier for me to follow. It‘s infuriating. And definitely relevant for today. 3mo

TheKidUpstairs Like @vlwelser I'm a little bit behind, about half way through Part 1. But so far, I love the writing style, her narrative style engages you right from the start. Like everyone else, I find it so infuriating, and like @MallenNC pointed out it is unfortunately quite relevant for today, as we see so many politicians and political influencers trying to push us back to these times. cont'd in next comment 3mo

TheKidUpstairs I especially appreciate that, while the book is very much focused on Elizabeth and her story, Moore has brought in larger context with regards to sexism and racism in the medical profession, and the looming civil war. 3mo

ncsufoxes I‘m about halfway through part 1 & agree with everyone else about the writing style. It is infuriating to see how some ideas about women have not changed…women & anything to do with their anatomy & functions. As well as women thinking or speaking out. At least we can‘t be locked away today for “novel reading.” 3mo

Hooked_on_books I had to finish another book I was about to lose, so that delayed my finishing of this. I really liked this last section. Her chapter on the difficulties of dating as an educated woman really resonated with me. I met my husband when I was just turning 39 and long after giving up when dating just never worked, as all the guys ran away from my degree and work. Old fashioned gender roles are such crap! 3mo

Hooked_on_books And the statistic of black women having a median net worth of $5 is devastating. Median! That puts the reality of living while black in such stark perspective. I‘ve had this book for a long time and am so glad I finally read it, as it is superb. Thanks for picking this a letting me tag along! 3mo

vlwelser I'm really enjoying this one. I love her read on Michelle Obama's hairstyle and the possible message she was sending. 3mo

Hooked_on_books I really liked the first essay this week. But then, just about anything starting with Michelle Obama tends to be good. I thought the second essay was also good but have an issue with what essentially sounded to me like blaming liberal white women for Trump‘s 2016 election win. There are so many voting blocks you can look at to see the differences from 2012 to 2016 that contributed to that election result. 🔽 3mo

Hooked_on_books Yes, far too many white women voted for that horrific man, which is frankly why I think a lot of liberal white women participated in the Women‘s March—horror over him being in office. My mother in law is a hard core conservative (though not a Trump fan), and there would have been no way to get her to vote for Hillary. (I don‘t know how she voted.) So to simply say it‘s because we didn‘t get our group voting right doesn‘t hold water. 3mo

staci.reads I ended up having to settle for audio again, so I'm struggling to add to the comments with anything specific about the chapters, but I am really enjoying this one. I feel like this book is a "shut up and listen" experience. I am learning so much. 3mo

staci.reads @Hooked_on_books That part was hard for me to hear as well. I respect her for sharing her feelings about the Women's March. I guess, though, I'd like to ask her what kind of protest white women who didn't vote for the orange man could have done that would have felt appropriate to her. I don't mean that in a snarky way. I am truly curious. 3mo

Hooked_on_books @staci.reads I‘d like to know that, too. I know a lot of us white women are devastated and embarrassed at so many white women voting for him. Plus, she also mentioned earlier that we‘re all stronger together, which I completely agree with. I do fully understand her frustration with the majority of white women. 3mo

Riveted_Reader_Melissa I am not black, so I do not want to overstep here, but boy could I relate this week. My great-grandmother, grandmother, and mother all got married and had children young. And I was determined not to fall into that pattern….even as my younger cousins got married & got pregnant (not all in that order)…I was like, nope, not going there until I graduate from college. Hooked_on_books I enjoyed this week‘s essays. I did have some thoughts about her wanting the US government to intervene with Boko Haram. Of course I wanted those girls rescued, but I have to ask where and how we should intervene in other sovereign nations. It‘s a fraught thing. Leaning on a government to push them to get a rescue to happen is one thing, but intervening militarily is technically an act of war. So I can‘t agree with her about using our military 🔽 3mo

Hooked_on_books thought I certainly was horrified and wanted to see those girls rescued. I also loved her grandma! What a hoot! I am not religious but was raised Catholic and completely agree with her about how damaging the teaching about sexuality to girls is in many Christian faiths. It leads to a lot of disordered thoughts later and isn‘t good. 3mo

Hooked_on_books @Riveted_Reader_Melissa You mention the brain drain and knowledge being devalued, and I have to say that‘s part of what drove me out of my profession. I was living in a blue/purple area and even so, more and more people would look at what I said as a physician with skepticism. How can you get informed consent from people who refuse to be informed? It felt like a constant fight and it was exhausting. And I‘m not alone, which is bad. 3mo

AnneCecilie I love how she mixes the personal with facts. I‘m not black either, but how she talks about mothers and grandmothers makes it more relatable, even if I have completely different relationships with mine. 3mo

Hooked_on_books I forgot to say how it struck me that she‘s anti-patriarchy (as we all should be), but in the final essay for today mentions wanting black men to step up to protect black women, which is a patriarchal attitude. I would have liked to see her unpack that conflict—that would have been really interesting. 3mo

Riveted_Reader_Melissa It‘s a few years old now, but a lot of what it talked about is fermenting and now running things. I can see it in things like Signal-gate. They just think they know better, and anyone else that is complaining are sticklers/crazy, 🤷‍♀️. They had a “doctor” on who was meeting with unvaccinated people for Measles info (all the not-vaccinate alternatives they are recommending), while he actively had the measles. 🙄 (edited) 3mo

Riveted_Reader_Melissa @Hooked_on_books I thought that was interesting too, but I think for me it boiled down to they expect women to stand up for and protest for them, but it is not reciprocated because they think women should still be quiet/not heard, or black women are loud, so ok, or as she mentioned, she is large so should be able to take care of herself. 🤷‍♀️. Lots of intersections in that discussion. Might be a deeper one too, not just the socialization part ⤵️ 3mo

But also one about racism…loud/angry black men more likely to be handled violently by police for example, than loud/angry black women, so subconsciously let them be the angry front face. Hooked_on_books Absolutely yes, we should all be supporting and looking out for one another more. We have to stop looking at people as “us” or “them” and look at every individual as a human being. Hooked_on_books I also appreciated her nuance as regards Hillary. She also showed some nuance about white women that I appreciated. There are plenty of white women who appall me (and I am white), but she‘s absolutely right when she says women of all colors need each other to have any hope of persevering against the patriarchy. We‘re so much stronger together than divided. 4mo

staci.reads I thought the book finished strong. The chapter Unelectable- On the Entitlement to Power - was especially relevant after the last election. The part about the backlash against Klobachar after her perceived "disloyalty" to Al Franken was new information for me. I really liked her discussion of communality and the effect that expectation has on women in power. That hit home for me personally. 4mo

AnneCecilie This book is making me so angry. And I can‘t imagine reading this and not get angry. That whole abortion chapter 🤯 Hopefully, if I ever meet a pro-lifer, I‘ll now have arguments against their views 4mo

Singout I‘m finally caught up on a #SheSaid book! Yes, this made me angry too: the story in chapter 5 about the pregnant Black woman whose health needs were completely ignored and denied was gut wrenching. And, yes, the abortion chapter 😬. Recommended, if you can access it outside Canada, is an amazing book I read last year called “The Abortion Caravan,” about a group of women who went from the Pacific coast to Ottawa in 1970 to demand legal abortions. 4mo

We've read a lot of similar information in other books, but I'm listening to this one, and maybe that's why it is hitting different. I'm new to audio books, and I think I'm finding that for the non fiction, I'm going to need print copies. Having these stories drone on and on in my ears is really 4mo

Riveted_Reader_Melissa I feel like these stories may be older now since this book has been out for awhile now… but like all these thoughts and way of looking at women in the US have now grown and developed into political movements 🫣 and are running the place. 5mo

staci.reads It's a hard one to listen to 😔. I was appalled with the passages she includes from the writings of incels. I was not even familiar with the term until recently when my daughters were explaining it to me. I'm both glad for their awareness and heartbroken they have to be aware. 5mo

DGRachel I thought I‘d be able to knock this out in a day or two, listening while I worked, but I‘m 20% of the way through, been listening at 1.5x speed for 40 minutes, and I‘m so angry I feel like I‘m about to explode. Incels make me physically ill. 5mo

TheKidUpstairs I bailed. Loved the idea, but not the execution. Like others mentioned previously, I found it incredibly repetitive. 5mo

ncsufoxes Not my favorite book. It was repetitive. I did like some of her insights (hustle culture, how capitalism & white supremacy go hand in hand). I also learned about the Maroon people which I never heard of. “People are waking up to the truth of their manipulation under toxic systems.” 5mo

AnneCecilie I liked her ideas and some of her more specific lists to illustrate her ideas. I also found some of what she wrote alienating and that kept me at a distance. Or maybe she just highlighted that we‘re from two different worlds/ cultures. But sadly, I don‘t think this is a book that will stay with me 5mo

BarbaraTheBibliophage I agree it is repetitive!! It seems like a manifesto or article that got a book deal. But as what I call “a recovering entrepreneur,” I relate HARD to the productivity and grind culture thread in her writing. I‘m not self-employed anymore and it has helped. That‘s also a big part of why I stopped book blogging. My blog was a grind and started to take the joy out of reading, which is a method of rest for me. 5mo

JamieArc I‘m not reading this but wanted to chime in that she created a deck of cards from the ideas in this book. I got them for my husband and he pulls one out each day to look at while he‘s working, and often uses them in icebreaker situations. 5mo

vlwelser I don't love this book. She's very repetitive and doesn't seem to want to let stuff go and move forward. It's counterintuitive to blame the past on not feeling like you can rest and then keep making excuses about it. 5mo

AnneCecilie Agree with the repetitiveness @DGRachel and @vlwelser but I like her more concrete examples of how to rest, even if I was a little sad that reading wasn‘t on that list. There‘s also a lot of the grind culture I don‘t recognize living in a different country. We have rules when it comes to working hours per day, month, half year and year. We also have 5 weeks paid vacation and a lawful right to 3 weeks vacation during the summer. (edited) 5mo

DebinHawaii I have my print library copy & started reading but forgot to post last weekend. Interesting so far, though a bit disjointed & I‘m not as church-oriented as the author. Not a lot of rest this week but I liked the list of What Resting Can Look Like. I tend to think about rest as sleeping/taking naps so social media breaks, crafting, doing a deep listen to an album or just not responding immediately to text & emails are all things that I can do. 5mo

BarbaraTheBibliophage I‘ve had this book on my Kindle shelf for a long while. I believe in stopping the glorification of”busy.” But putting it in practice is another thing entirely. So far the intro offers some solid ideas. (edited) 5mo

CatLass007 I tried to listen to the audiobook because I have frequent migraines due to eye strain. I‘m afraid I did not find what I heard particularly restful. It could be because I am experiencing a lot of anxiety this past week due to possible negative effects on my health insurance because of DJT‘s freeze on spending. If I really wanted to rest, I had to listen to something that was fiction. I am going to attempt this section again soon. 6mo

But this book helped for me, if we stress constantly we will not have the energy to organize back. We need to sleep and rest and not doom-scroll 24/7. It saddens me that a lot of people are going to need to suffer, including most likely me, before people snap out of their trance…. BUT 6mo

And for the disabled… at least for mine…regular everyday life takes all my energy and I can not always keep up, hence the label of dis-able, not able to, and I‘ve often complained that the hoops you have to jump through to get the help you need is an added burden very very often. ↩️ 6mo

I was heartened to see so many jump in when he was going to cut money for everything DEI, because although that seems to be the new N word that they do not want Brown people to get their jobs apparently (my interpretation here). DEI or Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion is Civil Righrs, and includes Women, the Disabled, the Elderly, Vetrans, etc, etc, etc… 6mo

Riveted_Reader_Melissa ↪️ anyone that gets left out of we do not have DEI. I am not at all surprised he went there, but I think a bunch of his voters will be, many have benefits that will be impacted…and members of congress have to win election again in 2 years and need those votes 6mo

The US is a Capitalist country, and has always been run by wealthy corporations and before that wealthy landowners. The easiest way to make money is to keep costs low…cheap labor. Shipping in slaves, breeding slaves, capturing & enslaving natives cut labor costs, and made profits higher. To keep that system in place you had to create a race system where brown natives & africans⤵️ 6mo

Riveted_Reader_Melissa ↪️ were less than human, less than their white owners…and therefore make the system “ok”. It was common for many European countries to do this as they created colonies around the world too, not just the US. Canada has issues with its native populations historically, England in India, Australians and Aboriginal, every African colony, etc. The idea that the White Europeans were better than, smarter then, more Gods children than the native ↩️ 6mo

Riveted_Reader_Melissa ↪️ “savages” they found there. And that mindset was what gave them the permission system to …take their land, enslave them, kill them off…they were not entitled to the same rights as the White Europeans…that was the beginning of the race system and White Supremacy. 6mo

Riveted_Reader_Melissa But..as we changed from a plantation system to a corporate system the landowners and eventually companies needed to keep costs low to maximize their profits. So as one system is outlawed, they employ the next. Slavery is out, Jim Crow is in…now you will be arrested for being lazy and leased back to the same plantation or business as a laborer with no rights, Jim Crow is our, Mass incarceration is in where more brown people are arrested ⤵️ 6mo

Riveted_Reader_Melissa And imprisoned for the exact same crimes as white people who are given a warning and waved on. Just in the recent CA wildfires they used prison inmates to fight the fire and paid them $10/day. From there it branched out into regular businesses. Why pay higher minimum wage here, if I can ship my company overseas and save money, increase profits. Why have labor laws..like child labor, work weeks, paid maternity leave, unions, etc…if I can ⤵️ 6mo

Riveted_Reader_Melissa ↪️ keep that down, more profits at the top. We in the US have a widening wealth gap in the US because of policies like this…and a belief that those at the top are smarter, more gifted, etc, so deserve a big bonus, where the day to day labors do not deserve a living wage because they are obviously unworthy, lazy, etc. but sadly very little is based on merit, but based on who your parents were, what education you could afford, etc, etc. 6mo

Riveted_Reader_Melissa So the system of making better profits through Slavery and White Supremacy has morphed into the current Capitalist system. Company boards at the top, workers at the bottom. As companies make record profits, employees do not get a pay raise, instead they get no-fault firing, benefits cuts, etc. which has led yo what she calls Grind culture. You can not pay your bills with 1 job , so to break even you work 2, get a side hustle as they call it⤵️ 6mo

Riveted_Reader_Melissa ↪️ drive your personal car for DoorDash, Uber, etc. So you work more and more hours (& put miles on your personal car, tires, etc) to work for another company to just make enough to pay basic bills. And less rest, less time to question why this is the system, why the heads are making record profits, but just can not pay a living wage, or keep prices steady instead of price gouging. 6mo

Riveted_Reader_Melissa I‘ve seen some compare the current state of things to the days of mining towns & sharecropping. Where you worked for the mine, but all goods had to be bought at the company store. And because they controlled both wages and costs, basically you were always in debt to the company store so owed them more money and more work. Which keeps the workforce basically “enslaved” to that company. (edited) 6mo

My anxiety has decreased tremendously over the weekend and I might give this book another try today. I have to say that the comments that religion in this book is unwelcome are disappointing. I do not consider myself religious, but I am spiritual. Christianity is another way to belittle and enslave people. I do not consider myself a (cont)⬇️ 6mo

CatLass007 Christian. Mainly because of the negative connotations that the word itself has. To quote Ghandi, “I like your Christ very much. It is your Christians I do not like.” I think that all spiritual traditions have merit. But they also have flaws. 6mo

I do not think God/Jesus/or whatever you believe in would agree with that. Sadly Christianity has a bad history with imperialism and treating non-Christian‘s as not human. I think that as women that is a description of capitalism with which we all can identify, no matter our race. Of course it doesn‘t really matter if it‘s capitalism, it also could describe monarchy, communism, fascism, or others. 6mo

Around the world there seems to be unrest, division, and just generally unhappy populaces. So this year we will look at famous movements for change and of resistance, what drives people to push for change, why, and how.

Riveted_Reader_Melissa @Singout same movement, different styles & dates. I believe one was more like Hands Across America back in the day and one Singing specifically. So more options for odd connections too. So similar to both lunch counter sit-ins, bus boycotts, and marches in the Civil Rights movement. I thought they both provided great connections for other reading choices & connections. 7mo

vlwelser Overall I thought this was an interesting look at female institutionalization. And not having power over your own person. But the time travel/utopia stuff was just sort of meh to me. Though I bet it was scandalous in the 70s. 7mo

MallenNC I finished! This book was not for me. The present day story was so bleak and unrelenting, and then I wasn‘t sure if the time travel parts were meant to be real or not. Like @vlwelser said, it probably hit readers differently when published. Speculative fiction is not my favorite anyway so others may enjoy it more. 7mo

MallenNC I‘m not quite caught up but I did find the audiobook and I‘ve made a lot of progress. I‘m not really enjoying it! Everything is pretty bleak with the main character but I‘m hoping I understand what the author was going for when I get to the end. 7mo

I love that she uses the logic that if you're crazy you think you don't belong in an institution. That circular logic that allows them to keep you. Looking forward to the next section. 7mo

Such an odd feeling this week, reading this section about grief, about holding things in and letting them out, about taking up the burden to help others, and then carrying that weight. And how holding it all in our bodies is not great for us…. I need to let it sink in more to comment, but I think we all need to let it out more, stop holding it in to make others comfortable…
