The 3rd book in the original trilogy. This book had me on the edge of my seat!! It was so good with lots of twists! I‘m excited to see what the next three books bring 🥰 I‘m hoping it will be the same characters, I‘ll find out soon 📖

A grandiose finale to an epic trilogy. Adrenaline-inducing sci-fi mets Graeco-Roman classical antiquity with deep space warfare, Brown delivers devastating blows, political intrigue, and greater maturity amongst Homeric age characters and complex world-building. I inhaled this instalment. Cried twice (read: practically wailed). The action was riveting without being melodramatic. Watching these characters come of age captivated me. INCREDIBLE!
Wasting absolutely no time devouring the next instalment 🌙🌑🪐.
Against popular opinion, I wanted to DNF Morning Star and only didn‘t because it was the final in a trilogy. Darrow should have died a hundred times and the war went round in circles. Perhaps I just don‘t like space fantasies. I was surprised by the twist at the end which was interesting and well-thought out but again, unrealistic. An aspect I liked was the development of this one from the first one in terms of maturity, language and gore though.
November 29 #HumbleHarvest Star This is on my TRB list. Hopefully next year! @Eggs @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks

This series is so fantastic! Definitely some of the best sci-fi books ever! Hoping to finish this one today so I can move on to the next series set in this world! The newest one just came out earlier this week and I'm eager to get to it! ?? Rumpel is relaxing and reading with me today since I'm working this weekend! #catsoflitsy #rumpel
When you're in a parade representing the library, it only makes sense that you bring a book with you! (actually I brought two!) 😂 Founder's Festival is this weekend in my town, and a big part of the celebration is the parade! The library is in it every year, and I always sign up to join in because it's so much fun! The theme this year was under the sea which is why I have such a silly hat on! 🦀🌊
An excellent epic finale to this fantastic sci-fi trilogy. Though it starts a little slow, this dark space dram is full of twists and turns. I‘m really enjoyed this series and I have no idea why it took me so long to get to it. I look forward to starting the next era in the world. 4.5⭐️ just because of the slightly slow start.
Staying on that trend of continuing or finishing series this year. So far this one‘s my favorite in the series so far.
This will also complete my May #doublespin

My life has been taken over by Disney Dreamlight Valley so reading has not been a thing at all for about a week now….That being said I would really like to continue the Red Rising Series by Pierce Brown with Morning Star and complete the A Song of Ice and Fire Series by George R. R. Martin with A Dance with Dragons.

I'm ready for book 6! And apparently 7 too since that's a thing apparently.

I'm putting #May and #June together since they're part of the same series. My favorites on consecutive months, particularly Morning Star, which was spectacular! ⭐⭐⭐ to Golden Son, ⭐⭐⭐⭐ to Morning Star.

It took all summer, but we finally finished listening to this audiobook on our drive home from a weekend out of town. This was a reread for me, but first time listening to the whole series on audio; last year I introduced my boyfriend to the series starting with the first book, and after a year we finally made it through the original trilogy. I have not read the subsequent books, so we will start Iron Gold on our next road trip.
Happy Sunday everyone! Took about an hour‘s drive out of town to hike Twin Peaks trail in Chugach State Park. Great views of Eklutna Lake (in the background), the last of the summer wildflowers, and lots of blueberries above the tree line. The drive allowed us to listen to more of our shared audiobook (tagged). Only about 4 hours left, so hoping to finish this book before the end of the summer.
CarPlay has made audiobook listening on road trips so much easier. After two road trips in two weeks, we‘ve made it about 2/3 through the audiobook. Still hoping to finish before the end of the summer. We have more driving planned in July. +4 hours for #LittenListen.
View from our drive down to the Kenai Peninsula for camping on Friday. Chugach Mountains to the left, Turnagain Arm to the right, and Kenai Mountains in the background.
WOW! Ok this book had so many twists and turns that kept me completely surprised, especially the ending. I LOVED it!!
It‘s been awhile since we listened to our audiobook, but driving to visit my parents for Father‘s Day gave us the opportunity to fit in about 4.5 hours of listening this weekend. Added to my #LittenListen count too. We are about halfway through now, and hopefully will finish after a few more road trips this summer.
Didn‘t get a *ton* of reading done this weekend, since the weather was so nice, and my boyfriend and I spent a weekend out of town. We stayed in a yurt in Talkeetna, AK and ended up with way better weather than we were expecting. The skies were clear enough on Friday that we had amazing views of The Great One (Denali).
I did read ~30 pages of Bleak House, and we listened to ~6 hours of Morning Star during our drive.

I'm still loving my re-read of this series so I can finally read book 5. 💙
Brown once again delivers a stellar story full of heart, complex characters, and non-stop action. The betrayals in this addition still caught me off guard even though I knew they were coming.
I can't wait to start book 4! 😀
-3 degrees outside here in TX this morning and 40 degrees currently inside my house. 😬 Rolling blackouts and no water means I'm going to crawl back in bed, try to stay warm, and hopefully finish the tagged book. We are definitely not used to this here. ❄⛄
Read the 2nd book Golden Son & Morning Star back to back! Well with that big cliff hanger you just have to! The whole Red Rising series is AMAZING & I haven‘t loved a series this much since forever (Or maybe since The Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare) Never knew I‘d love reading a SciFi but Brown is brilliant in writing his characters which had me hooked from the start! #SciFi #MustRead #booknerdslife #nerdymom
4.5🌟 What a rollercoaster ride this book was! I thoroughly enjoyed this book and felt that it was a solid wrap up to the trilogy. Brown's writing only improved with each book, so I'm excited to see what is in store with the next trilogy of books.

The final book in The Red Rising Trilogy. I really enjoyed the way Pierce Brown wrapped up this opening trilogy. He has continued to add book too this series but the story of the opening trilogy is wonderful I will most certainly be reading them over and over
When you recommend a series to your best friend and she sends you updates on how it‘s going 😬😂 #redrising #morningstar #recommendations #hedidntactuallydie
Well I‘ve surpassed my goal of 24hrs reading in my #SuperSeptemberReadathon and this is Bk3 of my goal of 4 books off my #MountTBRShelvesOfDoom Go me! My house is a construction zone with my yard full of building crap so I‘m reading more than gardening. The 3rd book in Browns SciFi series was brilliant, Darrow & Sevro are so much fun to read, I‘m definitely getting the next books. I‘m also parallel reading Dune, guess it‘s #SciFiSeptember too.
I am afraid to say it but book number one did not live up to book number 3. That is to say I did not hate this book. It brought the threads of the story to a nice and convenient conclusion but I was not surprised by any of it and I picked it about 200 pages out and frankly that does not for a good read make! I will have to hear some fantastic things about the next trilogy for me to continue with it. 3/5 stars.
One of the best hard sci-fis you can read. Excuse me while I'm off to join the Rising.

Book: Morning Star (Red Rising 3), Pierce Brown
Author: Maas, Sarah J. (Like I‘d choose another lol)
TV Show: MacGyver (the old, good one with Richard
Dean Anderson, not the new)
Singer: Miranda Lambert
Song: My Masquerade, Delain
This turned out to be such a fantastic conclusion to this trilogy! So many twists and turns, and truly unexpected gambits. Ruthless strategy and headstrong ideals clash in ways that make me bow to Pierce Brown's terrifying mind.
Definitely going to try and get a copy of Iron Gold at some point in the near future.
About half way through this and loving it. My heart hurts though.
I am currently trying to pin down my TBR for the next 7 days. I am thinking either Manga or library books. I am a mood reader so this TBR thing is new to me, but I am enjoying the change up.
Do you have TBRs or are you a mood reader?
I loved rereading this series. It was so different to see the story unfold after knowing the ending. I‘d forgotten some things, but knowing which characters were lost or survived, who betrayed who, etc. just made it a whole new experience. It‘s a dark story, but there is so much joy to be found in the relationships and loyalty between the characters. I know I‘ll return to these books again.
I visited my local used bookstore yesterday for the last time before they close indefinitely today due to our city‘s hunker down order. I‘ve been looking for a copy of Morning Star in paperback to round out my set of the series, and picked up a few others that caught my eye.
This was a solid end to the trilogy. Tons of action, some betrayal splashed in, and another helluva ride. This was an extremely fun series to read.
4.5 Stars. Excellent conclusion to an epic story. Great to see and hear more of the other characters instead of all the focus being on Darrow. Loved all the twists and turns towards the end. Really kept you on your toes. Can't wait to read the second trilogy!
Fast paced with lost of twists. This is my favorite in the trilogy and will definitely continue the series! Brown's style is improving with every book.
