This was an audiobook read by the actress, and also author of the book. Personally this was meh from me. Okay but that‘s about it. The story never seemed to go much anyplace and struggled to maintain my interest or concentration.

I finished the tagged book during my daily Candy Crush time, and I loved it. It‘s fun, funny, emotional, and perfectly in tune with that state of being where you‘re desperately trying to figure out what it seems like everyone else in your situation has already mastered. #deweysapril2024 #audiogaming

Good book by a talented actress

This was predictable and yet also funny and charming. This book lets you revisit mid-90s NYC while also revisiting your early adult years when you thought you had to have everything all figured out (because you just knew that everyone else your age was ahead of you with their careers and love lives). Great if you‘re in a book slump or just in need of a palate cleanser.

This is charming, earnest, and funny. I‘ve enjoyed getting to know Franny Banks in 1995 NYC. 1995 was three years prior to one of the greatest ever films being released: You‘ve Got Mail. 😂 Don‘t worry - Bitsy is also in the car. We needed a Dunkin‘ pick-me-up and if I was going, we were ALL going!

This was a quick read and it was very Lauren Graham. I enjoyed it!

Well I completed 2 of my 3 goals. I finished 3 books and read for 20 hours. However, I didn't quite read as much of Anna Karenina as I had hoped. This was good preparation for the upcoming readthons next weekend! Hopefully I'll hit all my goals then! #EasterExtravaganza @Andrew65

So, the break in “reddish” was read by me as “red” and “dish” and I thought... “What the heck is red dish hair!?” LOL. Which made me think of the red dish in Ethan Frome.

Some light reading for this morning... I feel like I‘ve barely been reading since the school year started!! #TeachersofLitsy struggles 😩

Late night reading and whiskey. I‘ve been working too many night shifts in a row and even though I‘m tired I can‘t fall asleep. Hoping the whiskey will help.

I really wanted to like it. A woman in her 20s living in Brooklyn struggling to become an actress. Read by the author Lauren Graham. I know it‘s hard to make it in show biz, and there‘s a lot of hard work, failure and repeating, and it‘s the last part I have the biggest problem with. The book didn‘t really move forward. Yes, there are some relationships changing, but in the end not much really happened, and sadly the book was quite boring. ⭐️⭐️

I really wanted to fall in love with this book the way that I fell in love with Lauren Graham‘s character on Gilmore Girls. There were definitely parts in the book (and especially the audiobook) where I got that fast talking, coffee crazed Lorelei Gilmore vibe, but all in all I mostly just kinda felt meh about it.

Overdrive popped up with an #audiobook category called "Read By a Celeb" and as a Gilmore Girls fan from way back, of course I had to jump on this novel written & read by Lauren Graham, about a young actress trying to make it in New York City. Semi-autobiographical, if I remember right. Just starting. #fridaylistens #litsylistens

I liked this book, it was easy to read and you get to know the characters well. It‘s about a girl struggling to make it as an actress in New York, nothing profound but a good break from books that run your emotions through the gamut leaving you exhausted. I read it for one of my book clubs. Book 4 of 2019

This book was really cute! I feel like, I‘m addition to her other book Talking As Fast As I Can, you really get a good feel for who Lauren Graham is and she has so much good advice

This was just a fun and light read and I think you kinda have to like a Lauren Graham a little bit of you‘re going to enjoy this one. She has a specific tone to her writing and if you‘re not a fan, this wouldn‘t be a good pick.

Sweet, charming, and funny. Franny Banks is trying to make it in show biz in the 90‘s. Waiting tables in Brooklyn and only an ugly Christmas sweater commercial under her belt, everything comes down to the upcoming showcase for her acting class. This book was full of heart and Graham‘s charming wit.

Even though I wish I was home reading. We had a great time yesterday going on a hayride, having a bonfire and roasting marshmallows.

This was a lot of fun. I listened to the audiobook, narrated by Lauren herself, and I really enjoyed it. This is a work of fiction about an aspiring actress struggling to “make it” in New York, which I believe is based off the authors own experiences of the same. A lovely, light book, and I recommend the audiobook because Lauren‘s personality makes it all the better!

This is a good, not great, book. I read it while on vacation and it was perfect for that- light with just enough substance to remain interesting. Obviously I picked this book because Lauren Graham wrote it (my Gilmore Girls obsession is no joke) and was pleasantly surprised by its semi-autobiographical feel.

Pick this if you love Lauren Graham, or are an aspiring actress, or need a vacation read that‘s not your typical romance.

I was disappointed in this book. I felt like it was predictable, and I'm not satisfied with the ending. I finished reading it but I definitely considered bailing on it several times.

I'd rather be home, reading. Instead, I'm stuck behind a train stopped on the tracks.

Fun, easy read. Though I have possibly nothing in common with the heroine, (except I used a datebook in the 90‘s too-as proven in the photo above) I rooted for her from the start.

I needed another audiobook to maximise my #24in48 reading time so after trawling through pages and pages of crime audiobooks in Overdrive I decided to go for this. Can someone who's read it advise how necessary it is to see the Filofax datebok entries? They have the ebook so I can download that if it adds something to the book.

Just posting this for those of you I‘ve seen wanting to read it. It‘s on sale for Kindle and iBooks! I‘ve read it and liked it a lot. If you like Lauren Graham, I think you‘ll like this. The whole tone of the book is so very her. ❤️ #BookSale

Eh I didn‘t hate it, but I didn‘t love it either. The characters weren‘t all that interesting. The main character seemed like she was the queen of oblivious humble-bragging. Overall, a light read but there are better light reads out there.
