1. Tagged. Bought it yesterday on my favourite island bookstore. 🙂
2. Earthlings by Sayaka Murata
3. Wow, this is tough. ... Japan, Ireland, Costa Rica?

My #bookspin & #doublespin for April. Another chunkster for my #bookspin. I‘ve heard this one is good, so hopefully it doesn‘t take me all month.
The cover sure is pretty, but after 75 pages of war and violence and meditations on manhood, I think I'm done. Just not my cup of tea. Also, the language feels a bit stilted, and I'm wondering if that's just me or is an effect of the translation. Spoiler tag in the comments for what finally tipped me over the edge.

7 days, 7 covers you love, no explanation. Try to tag someone new each day.
Anyone else interested, consider yourself tagged as well!
#7days7covers Day 2
Posting late on Day 2- left my phone at home when I went to the hospital today, so had to wait til I got home to post picture.

Denmark has 8.750km of coastline, and you are never more than 52km away from #thecoast, no matter where you are at. This book (which I haven‘t read) is set in a little coastal town on a small Danish Island, and tells the saga of four generations of men going out to sea, and the families they leave behind.

Alright here are my options for #makemereadit. I‘ve opted for making an online survey as it seems like it would be easier to keep track of the responses.

While waiting for my brakes to be done at the service center, I walked to Barnes and Noble to use the gift card they sent me. I needed a little retail therapy to cope with the total repair bill. 😭 Tagged book for me. Signed book for Mom. Mood instantly improved. 😂#bookhaul
Oh my goodness @Robothugs I love everything! You have no idea how many times I‘ve picked up the tagged book but didn‘t buy it for one reason or another! The other two books look equally fantastic. The chapstick made me giggle (Pride & Peppermint). The chocolates look almost too pretty to eat... almost. Of course, the slippers are just as cozy as I expected. And I love the bookmark from @BookBabe . I love it all! Thank you so much!! 📚🎄🤶🏼
We the Drowned was an epic story that followed the residents of a Danish seafaring town over four generations, two world wars, and a hundred years. I highly recommend. #Ocean #sizzlinsummerbooks
Slightly less reading this month because of a vacation that didn't provide as much reading time as expected. Best book this month was We, the Drowned.
#maybookflowers
From the first page to the last, this book is filled with great characters, humour, heartbreak, horror, and a wide variety of settings. Recommended particularly for those who like stories of the sea or the works of Alistair MacLean, particularly HMS Ulysses.
I'm almost done this book, but I keep stopping because I don't want it to end. ♥️
Went out for a pint after work and am now getting #litsypartyofone started with some butter chicken and some strong black tea to sober up (I am a lightweight when it comes to drinks 🙃).
Got it because of the cover 🙈it involves #sailing. I've yet to read it, but it is my W for Litsy A to Z. #LyricalApril
That's certainly an eventful start! (The second paragraph is pretty good too 😆)
#aprilbookshowers day 5: first line of current read
I got this book as part of my "book spa" at Mr B's Emporium of Reading Delights in Bath. GORGEOUS cover. And no, I still haven't read it yet ?
#marchintoreading day 2: judged by its cover
"He got the sudden feeling that the world was losing its cohesion and that everything he believed in was doomed."
I had to bail on the audio version of this. I couldn't get into it, which made keeping track of all the different characters impossible on top of an ever changing POV. For those who have read it, is it worth trying again with print? Side note, this cover is so lovely.
Got my first stack for the #litsyatozchallenge plus an extra Russian just for the heck of it! 😁
I need opinions, please! I've been picking up this book at the shop about ten times now but still haven't bought it. Can anybody tell me if it's good? It does sound interesting but I wasn't fully intrigued yet so I've been hesitant to spend the money. Any thoughts? 😊
My first post🤗 My library haul today! A few books of poetry, an oldie, and something that just caught my eye. The best part, trying to decide what to start first!
This Danish seafaring epic is great to read if you want to really commit to something huge. It's long and its story spans 4 generations over a hundred years, all revolving around a tiny coastal village. The characters, who really drive the narrative, are thrown into all sorts of dire circumstances and the ending brings it all full circle in a really satisfying way. And Jensen can tell a beautiful story.
So I went to Barnes and Noble for a completely different book, but I ended up buying this one on a whim. So far, I'm in love.
Happy TBR Tuesday, all! The struggle continues...
After Moby Dick, I have sworn off books set primarily at sea. My love of Simon Vance and my trust in @Dogearedcopy prompted me to give this audiobook a try. I'm so thankful. I enjoyed this saga narrated by the voice of the community of a shipping town in Denmark.
Now that #ArmchairAudies season is over, I'm completely drawn back into the world of We, The Drowned. I don't know what else to call this other than a saga. It keeps changing and I keep enjoying it. Oh, and the narrator is pretty darn good, too.
I started listening to this before #ArmchairAudies. I didn't finish it, but I've been listening to it when my current nominee is a CD copy. I'm really drawn to Albert's story especially and the way Jensen is telling the tale. Sneaking time in with Simon Vance this time of year is also very nice.
