April was a crazy month for me! I started a new job @ have been utterly swamped transitioning with the outgoing person which includes kicking off a leadership 101 session Wed in Hilo & taking over the in-progress 201 & 301 sessions & onboarding a new corporate trainer. It WILL get calmer!

That being said, while I had planned to read 12 books, I‘m happy I made it through 8. I enjoyed them all. All women authors. Crazy Brave (the audiobook) & ⬇️

DebinHawaii …The Widows of Malabar Hill were my favorites although I enjoyed Agnes Grey & rereading Ayesha At Last with the #PemberLittens. The Happening & The Power of Adrienne Rich gave me a powerful look at women‘s history & how far we have not come. 🤬 And the thriller escapes were The Life She Had & Secluded Cabin Sleeps Six. All-in-all, a good month. 12mo
BarbaraBB They kept you busy that first month! I hope things will slow down a bit now and that you‘ll be settled soon 🩷 12mo

My April TBR: top row = buddy reads for #Pemberlittens #SundayBuddyRead & #DiverseCozy Next, Joy Harjo‘s memoir on audio for #PoetryMonth & an #ARC for the new Ice Crean Shop Mystery for #SeriesLove2023 & True Biz from @Laughterhp ‘s #AuldLangSpine list. The rest are library books & some I‘ve been meaning to get to.
As always, it‘s subject to change based on my mood #proudmoodreader I start my new job Thursday-so hoping for more reading time.🙏🏼

TheBookHippie Good luck!!! I hope you‘re also feeling well! 13mo
DebinHawaii @TheBookHippie Much better, thank you! 💜This was a milder COVID &/or the drugs helped. Now to survive 2 more days at the old job, then a day off & I start the new one. 😜 13mo

Okay, here‘s my April #BookSpin list! Rather than wait until the last second to see what (if any) I finish from the March list, I just put in a bunch of catchup picks. Should take care of it. This week is already insane, with kiddo‘s ballet debut on Sunday and both my mom and my MIL coming in, volunteer hours to log, cleaning, school…ugh. Wish me luck.

TheAromaofBooks Woohoo!! Best wishes with the craziness this week!! 13mo

#AprilWrapUp ... apparently I had a great reading month, so I‘m not sure why I feel like April flew by... oh well, onto May!

#MayGoals: catch-up on new releases, on series, and arcs, and with the #PemberLittens and #ShakespeareReadAlong which I have fallen way behind on.

A quick and short #BookReport and #WeeklyForecast

I‘m almost finished with Salvage the Bones and should finish it later tonight, so I‘m counting it for this week.

My goal for next week is to try to tick off a few of those on my currently reading shelf. Fingers Crossed 🤞

Just keep swimming swimming 🐠🐠 reading, reading 📚📚📖

A #BookReport and #WeeklyForecast for the week to come (hoping to finish up some of those currently reading books, and maybe just maybe start 1 or 2 of those upcoming reads). We‘ll see...

I need more reading time! (don‘t we all!!!)

DGRachel I love your graphic! 3y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @DGRachel Thank you! The background always takes me a bit to find, a good empty bookshelf, but the updates are just screenshots of the book covers from Goodreads. 3y

#AprilGoals and #AprilPossibilities and #AprilTBR

We‘ll see how far I get, I‘ve honestly been distracted watching the trial the last few days and I anticipate that I will be unable to turn away for awhile yet.... such a tragedy.

April Showers bring...a lot of rain...and a few days without power (it just went out again), but also a pretty good reading month for me.

Caught-up with a bunch of my group reads, working my way through some series, and still got 2 nonfiction in....onward and upwards, and hopefully out of the rain and into some May flowers.

April was a difficult reading month for me.... so instead of book stats I‘m posting a gratitude shout out to my Litsy friends who helped me smile and feel grateful. Thanks for swaps, activities, and in general good karma @cobwebmoth @Avanders @hermyknee @mabell @Cinfhen @Gissy @Reviewsbylola @emilyhaldi and to everyone who comments/responds ❤️🙏❤️

BookDragonNotWorm I love this! Great idea! 5y

Reviewsbylola I haven‘t even gone through my April reads but it felt like a pretty slow month for me too. Just being part of a great community though definitely helps boost you when your month in mediocre! ♥️ 5y

Chrissyreadit @ravenlee yes! Fingers and toes crossed. 5y
emilyhaldi Love this 🥰 April was a difficult reading month and everything month for me actually!! Litsy is always a reliable place to come for good vibes ✌🏻 thanks for contributing this month!!! 5y
mabell Thank you for being a lovely Litsy friend @Chrissyreadit ! ❤️ 5y
Avanders Back at you chica! ♥️♥️ 5y
Cinfhen Thanks for including me in this fabulous group xx I always enjoy seeing your posts and comments. Hope May is kinder to you and you too @emilyhaldi 5y
Gissy @Chrissyreadit Thank you! This is an activity that we have chosen to relax ourselves. When we read, we transport ourselves to another world full of adventure that help us to manage the real world, so it should not be determined on how many books we read per month because we have family and other obligations that we have to take care of. It is a matter to enjoy the time we have to read!👍❤️❤️❤️❤️ 5y

Riveted_Reader_Melissa @Gezemice I‘m hoping to get too it soon, but I have two I have to get back to the library ASAP first, so maybe by next week? 5y
Gezemice @Riveted_Reader_Melissa Sure. I am not in a hurry either, I am still into history. Up next is the sequel to the Wars of the Roses: 5y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @Gezemice Well enjoy! As long as you‘re in the history mood I‘d say go with it. Foundation isn‘t going anywhere, it will be there when we are ready. 5y
Gezemice @Riveted_Reader_Melissa It has been sitting on my nightstand for month, and yes, no sign of it leaving... 5y
