Started this #audiobook and got through three hours in my first sitting. Seems very Beauty and the Beast so far. I like it, waiting for some action to start soon.

willaful I remember finding the audiobook rather repetitive in style -- a dramatized adaption sounds like a good idea. 2d
peaKnit I enjoy the cast audio, so immersive! I‘m mid book 3 of series. 2d
CrowCAH @willaful I like the extra sounds, helps the story a bit. 2d
CrowCAH @peaKnit yeah, not too many do the immersive audio, so when I saw Hoopla had it, I wanted to do that version and not the regular audio. 2d

I have this book on kindle, IRL and audio- and with my brain fog lifting (thanks to HRT) I decided to reread and see if i still enjoyed it - and I did. I love a Beauty and The Beast type story and really enjoyed the Fae and storyline. It made a huge difference having all three formats available.

Gissy I need to re-read those first 2 books and finish the series.. 4w

I went in with low expectations because it is so popular. I was delightfully surprised by this book and I enjoyed the story and love interest. My only complaint would be the slower pacing in the beginning.

I finally got around to reading this. While the book was really fun and I still am curious as to what happens next, I just felt like some things were ridiculous. The twist/big reveal was pretty obvious and a little bit too manipulated for the sake of making it make sense with everything that‘s happened. I did enjoy the second half a lot though, and I love how dark and gory it is. It‘s not a cute story, it‘s ugly in a good way. Also Nesta>>>>>>>

Margot Robbie has hinted that there might be a screen adaption of 'A Court of Thorns and Roses' coming our way.

Last year, she was spotted with the author of the series Sarah J. Maas after news of a previous TV series with Hulu fell through.

When asked if her production company is creating a series on the hugely popular books, Margot replied: "We all need that - the world needs that. I'll see what I can do."

While I loved the character building during this book, and how the actual story went, I liked the rest of the books in this series more. The first book felt, to me, more like a setup for the real story, than the actual story. On that note, I couldn't put this (or any other of this series) book down!

vivastory @GingerAntics There was a recent post on IG from Book Riot saying that one of many goals of Project 2025 is to prosecute (hefty fines for big publishers/authors & potential jailtime for indie publishers/authors) if the far right take the majority next year. 3mo
GingerAntics @vivastory I‘ve heard that from other places. Talk about total loss of literature freedom in this country. We might as well be North Korea or China or Cuba. 3mo
Mimi28 It‘s a shame, so sad 😞 3mo
Bookwomble @GingerAntics From my reading of the report, it seems that public schools and libraries are being forced to comply with the ban, but it doesn't seem to prohibit the books being sold and read privately. I could be wrong, but that's how I understood the Guardian article. Obviously, that's still fascist censorship. 3mo
The_Book_Ninja @GingerAntics 1) Isn‘t the far-right‘s mantra “freedom of speech”? 2) Who is reading these books to the illiterate morons in the 1st place? They would have never known if someone didn‘t snitch! 3mo

I stepped out of Tamlin‘s arms and kissed him softly. Tomorrow— there would be tomorrow, and an eternity, to face what I had done, to face what I shredded into pieces inside myself while Under the Mountain. But for now . . . for today. . .
“Let‘s go home,” I said, and took his hand.

Haven't read a fantasy book in ages and this one was the perfect choice to bring me back to the genre. I really enjoyed the characters and plot and how the book takes inspiration from so many other quality fantasy tales from the canon and yet is wonderfully fresh and exciting. CatLass007 @Cupcake12 I‘ve been seeing articles about them recently and when I found out that one meets at a nearby coffeehouse, I thought I‘d check it out. The way it‘s described is that the first 30 minutes are spent chatting and getting settled in and ordering food and/or drinks. The next hour is spent silently reading whatever we choose to bring with us. The final 30 minutes are spent chatting about what was read and anything else that strikes our fa. 7mo

Not for me. I understand Maas is very popular but I found this dragged. I do not find fairies in any way attractive - probably some childhood insecurity or something going on but I just cannot picture a sexy male fairy. The writing was very repetitive and cringeworthy. Not continuing with the series and should probably have bailed but I did find it improved towards the end.

I don‘t understand the hype around this book AT ALL. It had Beauty and the Beast vibes but with sub par writing. I like how witty Feyre is, although making her illiterate made no logical sense. Why try to dumb down your heroine?! The ending was predictable and the way Rhys looks at Feyre was a dead ringer for the ending in Iron Flame. Book #27 in 2024
