This is a re-read for book club and it‘s just as much fun the 2nd time as the 1st.

I just love this book!
It‘s been a while since a book has made me feel this entertained but I just really enjoyed reading it. It was fun and at the same time it made sure that I kept thinking I knew who did it just moments before realizing I was wrong once again 😅
5/5📚
Fun and clever murder mystery set in a retirement community and featuring four septuagenarians who may be slowing down physically but whose mental acuity (and connections) are unparalleled. https://cannonballread.com/2023/01/the-thursday-murder-club-elcicco/
Spoilt for choice with #Murder, but currently this is a very popular series.

Enjoyed this one, easy read that I wanted to get finished before the end of the year! Goal reached.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 for the series!
This one started out slow, but it didn't take long to start falling in love with the characters and get invested in their stories. This was a fun, laugh out loud, whodunit series!
OMG, I just loved this one! It was a gift Audiobook (when I Had eye surgery from @ChrissyReadIt ), and it was just adorable! This motley crew of retirees created all sorts of life goals for this #Murderino heart :)

I haven't actually read this book but I've heard a fair amount of chatter about it; I thought I'd have a listen to this little podcast ep as I put on some make up😊
Has anyone read this?? What did you reckon?

I read some amazing books in March, but this one takes the cake! The whole series is amazing. #12BooksOf2022 @Andrew65

Elizabeth, Joyce, Ron, and Ibrahim are residents of Coopers Chase Retirement Village. When a murder occurs, they form the Thursday Murder Club and set about to help solve the mystery.
@Andrew65
I found this one really hard to get into. I liked the humour and the premise. Parts of it were really clever. But I found my self having to re read passages, which isn‘t a good sign. I will, however, carry on reading the series as they were a birthday gift!
These are the books I received from my daughters for Christmas! I‘m excited to add them to my TBR. #WinterReadathonDailyChallenge
Books are the best Christmas gift! ❤️📚

Hands down my favorite book of January, maybe the year!! Hopefully I will add to my series read when the 4th book comes out!!
@rsteve388 thank you so so much!!! I‘m so excited!

Happy Christmas Eve everyone!
Thank you @MaleficentBookDragon for hosting again this year. It‘s my favorite swap of the year!
I have to be realistic about how many books I can read in a month, so I chose my top 6….I already have the tagged book so I guess I should start there! Thank you @monalyisha for the hard work and passion you put in to curating #auldlangspine matches! Whiskey, laundry, food, books, murder mystery, and country music — it‘s like someone looked in to my soul 🤩
I read The Thursday Murder Club as a digital ARC, then bought the paperback for hubby, as he doesn‘t do digital books.
But, I was looking at my shelves earlier this week and thought I could do with a hardback copy to match the other two.
I popped into the local charity shop, purely to drop books off, you understand, when lo and behold, what did I spot?! Yes, you guessed it, an almost pristine hardback copy of The Thursday Murder Club for Q9.50!
A delightful murder mystery. I had so many warm fuzzy feelings reading this book. Yes, there is a murder to be solved, but the dry humor and the character interactions made me feel like I was part of a cozy British mystery show with all the sassy septuagenarians as the investigators. I hope my retirement community will be as cool as theirs.
Dnf. I don't dnf books often. I have even read absolute drivel to completion. Sometimes, I wonder if I am a closeted masochist. But, even a masochist has a pain threshold and mine has probably reached its brink....(continued in comments)
Thanks for the tag @Eggs
1. I‘m a one at a time reader. It‘s rare for me to have more than one book going at once.
2. The tagged and the next 2 in the series are definitely favorites this year. I bailed on The Postmistress.

Check out my book review of The Thursday Murder Club on this weeks Manuscript Monday. https://www.bookinterrupted.com/post/manuscript-monday-the-thursday-murder-club
I can‘t put my finger on what it was that couldn‘t capture my attention. I read until page 180 because I just kept waiting for something interesting to happen, but realized I was putting off reading other things because I was fighting this one. Maybe I‘ll try again some other time…

About to have a very long day at a swim meet. Good thing I have a good book with me.
What a fun book! I love the premise: Four people living in a luxury retirement community in Kent, England form a club to look into unsolved murders (a founding member is a former cop and kept records). Then they have a murder in their own backyard….
Quirky, witty and a good murder mystery to boot. I‘m a happy camper. Will definitely read the next one.
Sadly, this was the only book I completed for Deweys and #outstandingoctober readathons.
This was a delightful, classic British murder mystery with elderly sleuths at the helm. It would make the perfect PBS series. I appreciated the laughs, like the elderly take on Tinder and Grindr. I am not far behind them! I thought the characters were excellent and the plot twists were cleverly orchestrated.
5th book read for #OutstandingOctober @Andrew65

I think I‘m going to enjoy this one! I love these first lines!
Sunday afternoon reading under the new blanket knit by my Baba. #cozytime
Unpopular opinion, but this one just didn‘t hold my interest. The Man Who Died Twice became available from the library, so I downloaded this one to listen to it first. It wasn‘t necessarily bad, but I had a hard time keeping track of all of the characters on audio, and ultimately found myself not really caring, so I bailed…
I loved this book! The characters were just absolutely amazing, endearing, funny, and smart. The mystery kept me guessing until the end. Such a good book!
#NSR221 @Nessavamusic This book was a delight. To watch these retired people interact with each other was delightful. I especially loved Joice the written of her diary. #LitsyLoveReads. Also this goes into the Cozy Mystery genre
It is so great to read a book that‘s gotten a lot of buzz and find that it is thoroughly enjoyable. The dialogue is full of humor without being cloying. The central characters, living in an upscale retirement village, are older (as am I) but whip smart, with great back stories. They gather to discuss cold murder cases. Bit of a trope, but it works here. When someone kills the smarmy owner they investigate. Good twists, fun plot, great read.
This is definitely a cozy murder mystery but I didn‘t miss the darkness or gore with all the amazing characters. Looking forward to visiting them again in book 2. Great twists as well, I didn‘t see some of them coming.
In a quiet retirement community, the Thursday Murder Club examines and solves cold cases. Everything changes when the body of a real estate developer drops.
This was fun, but a little weird. We change POV very often, and there end up being multiple mysteries that interconnect and then separate. The characters were all interesting, although I didn‘t like Elizabeth. This did give me Christie vibes, focusing on people rather than clues. 🌕🌕🌕🌗🌑
A quintessentially British cozy murder mystery. Full of well developed and likeable characters. I did not find events confusing, as other reviewers have said - however I‘m a pretty slow reader, so I really digest what I‘m reading before moving on.
Lighthearted British humour throughout, also with some very poignant truths that had me nodding my head at the wisdom. I would definitely read the others in the series.
Really charming and fun! I thoroughly enjoyed reading about this quartet of elderly sleuths.
