I enjoyed this one quite a bit. I‘m thinking that I just might need to go off on an all romance reading all the time binge. #LemonPie #LitPie #CaresBooksandPie #CopperBopper #DogsofLitsy

Brought this book with me to the car maintenance shop but am playing with Litsy instead 😉
I *am* looking forward to this! LOVE time travel and am much in the mood for happy books right now. ❤️
I‘m late opening my box of #FallingIntoFall goodies, but it‘s been a great Fall day filled with baseball, including a win by our beloved Detroit Tigers. That win had a heartpounding 9th inning, ye Gods. Suddenly I remembered my box! It‘s terrific! I LOVE biscotti, and the coffee and snacks are perfect. Seven year slip has been on my list and I can‘t wait to read both books. Thanks again, @Kshakal & happy Fall!
Tagged book was my fave but there were a bunch of fun books read in September, mostly ARCs
@TheAromaofBooks you absolutely spoiled me!!! My favorite colors of the season in my most favorite things…cup towels, bags, and pumpkins!!! The soaps are the cutest and the candles 🧡🧡🧡 and straight to the heart with a Christmas book!!!! Thank you so so very much!!! 🍂🧡🍂🧡🍂🧡#FallingForFallSwap @Avanders
A truly magical apartment that transports you back in time by exactly 7 years when you‘re at a crossroads. Clementine is at a crossroads, whether she likes to admit it or not. I liked seeing her slip back in time, figure out the present day connections, and finally come to terms with all the weight she‘s been carrying, including grief, her career, art, and romance. The apartment she didn‘t want ends up being just what she needed.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This was so different from what I was expecting - in a good way!
The time bending apartment was such a fun idea, and I really liked both main characters and their exploration of grief, though I didn‘t connect with the story as emotionally as I thought I would.
I‘m definitely interested in reading more from this author.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Enjoyed reading this during a weekend getaway.
You never commit a mundane moment to memory, thinking it‘ll be the last time you‘ll hear their voice, or see their smile, or smell their perfume. Your head never remembers the things your heart wants it to in hindsight 💔
Life doesn‘t always go as planned. The trick is to make the most of it when it doesn‘t ✈️

4/5 stars
A new favourite romance, so cute and cozy. The premise was so original and was executed really well!
I loved Postpn‘s previous book, “The Dead Romantics”, so I was very much looking forward to this next book. After making it about 80ish pages, I couldn‘t find myself reading any further as the story wasn‘t as engaging and I thought it was very frustrating that Clementine didn‘t tell Iwan about the seven year difference at the beginning and just decided to withhold that information instead. Maybe I will try reading this again someday!
Reading on my kindle is honestly my fav way to read anything. I do love physical books but I find I read faster on my kindle. Anyone else experience this? I buy books with beautiful covers and non-fiction. And sometimes a story I have to own bc I loved it so much. Kindle Unlimited is also so nice along with Libby for endless availability. 🩶📖
“Always, always chase the moon.”
I‘m obsessed with this quote from this book. It‘s so sweet and beautiful. So far loving this summer read.
Has anyone else read this book? Thoughts?
Enjoyed a lovely week of reading on the beach! I finished Eva Luna in paperback and read 3/4 of The Seven Year Slip on my Kindle!
Sad, bitter-sweet and touching.
Well done magical realism and interesting premise, but there was a lot of repetition and this novel wanted to be so many things.
It‘s a story about finding yourself and pursuing happiness. I liked the thought of the change of people over the course of their lives and how you can't hold on to someone for who they were in the past for who they are now.
Not usually one for romance, but this sounded good. Nice change of pace from my usual thrillers. 🤓
Absolutely delightful!
A lot of my booktubers that I follow couldn‘t get enough of this romance, so I thought I‘d give it a go. I liked it, I wouldn‘t go as far as saying I loved it, but it was a fun and fluffy quick read. I like that the main characters nickname was “Lemon.” 🍋
A romance that takes place in a magical apartment that sometimes comes unstuck in time by 7 years. I wasn‘t sure the gimmick would work but I ended up really liking it.
Limited work this week due to spring break. I had a dentist appointment at 8 am, now biding the time for a bit at a local cafe, so that I can hit up the nearby library when it opens at 10 am.
I‘d like to hide out here all day and read.
Back in the publishing world but a different company. Clementine has inherited her aunt's NYC flat - which can send you 7 years to the past. There are LOTS of references to 'Dead Romantics', Poston's previous book (including Benji himself)
This book didn‘t really do it for me 🤷🏼♀️ the concept was intriguing and I didn‘t bail on it, but it also seemed purposefully cheesy and naive, like a YA romance, and it didn‘t evoke any emotion out of me other than the occasional eye roll. 2.5 ⭐️
What if your flat had the possibility to travel in time? But it would only go back seven years. And you'd meet the love of your life, but they don't know you in the present.
I knew how this would end, I anticipated some of the twists and turns early on, I appreciated seeing the cameos.
Well-crafted #Romance - let's not talk about the science behind the time travel, that would spoil the magic. 😉

My first book of the year, a romance featuring a hot chef. The twist is the protagonist has an apartment that puts her 7 years in the past sometimes. Also a story about grief. TW discussion about suicide
The plot progression worked better than the character progression, imo, but I was hooked all the same! What a fun, fresh concept for a story, and what a love letter to food and connecting with others. #contemporaryromance
What a great book! It took me the first few chapters to get into it but soon enough it became a page-turner. Many of the things that happen, you see them coming, and it actually complements the book well. I resonate with the meaning behind this book a lot at the moment while looking back to some letters I wrote when was a little girl and the person I have become now. I think anyone would resonate with it in their own personal way.
First #AuldLangSpine book & I absolutely adored it! I love the magical realism genre & this had just the perfect blend of magical realism, seamlessly integrated. Plus, I loved Clementine & Iwan‘s story.🧡
Thanks Mikala! The next one I plan to read is The Starling House.
#AuldLangSpine
I was well matched with Mikala! I‘ve already read 4 on her list and another 4 are on my TBR! So I went ahead and added the other 8 to my TBR. I plan to start with these 4:
📕 Other Birds
📗 The Seven Year Slip
📘 Divine Rivals
📙 The Wishing Game
Thanks Mikala! Looking forward to getting to all the books throughout 2024.
Kind of predictable, but such a cute story nonetheless. Very, very infatuated with Iwan let me tell you 💕
Grief takes center stage in this romance novel; unsurprisingly, it packs an emotional punch.
Somehow, I accidentally found myself reading two time travel novels at once — funny, because I‘ve always struggled to wrap my mind around the mechanics. One Last Stop is still my favorite when it comes to this particular niche genre but there‘s plenty of warmth & spark here, too. Themes of change, risk, safety, & comfort are layered & complex. 👇🏻
I loved this! I haven't read a book I couldn't put down for a while. I missed that feeling. This was a great way to spend my Saturday. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Could not put it down. Some themes touched on, as a stream of consciousness: Life and death. Love and loss. Food as love, warmth and laughter — and emotional fuel. Ambition as the motivation of doing vs what is done for the love of it, the curiosity that leads to creating. What makes you, uniquely you. How does that change over time and what stays the same? It‘s a neat fun package to follow this story — and provoke those musings in your own story
October 10, 2023 As promised, I would give a rating... Drumroll please: duh duh duh duh! 5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The ending was so lovely. The words in yhe epilogue quite touching: "Because the things that mattered most never really left. The love stays. The love always stays, and so do we."
October 10, 2023 Omg so freakin' close to finishing. I AM GOING TO FINISH THIS BOOK FINALLY!!!!! I really had the urge to yesterday but didnt quite make it. I will today and the share my rating in the next post ♥️
October 8, 2023 Happy Fall and Happy Octoburrr!!! Ik that I have yet to update my Litsy but I have been busy haha Anyway, I am on page 249 out of 324. This is when Clementine gets told by Earl that she had something in her mailbox. She was estatic but also shocked. What could it be? It was a letter that Vera sent Clementine's aunt, Analea. She and Analea had dated thirty years ago. She must think that Analea is still around or something...
September 15, 2023 I am loving this book. I like how the author goes back and forth between past and present but doesnt make it confusing. Some authors tend to write in a confusing way and I get lost because the writing is all over the place... Too hard to follow and leads to me taking an even longer time finishing... which I dont like doing! So authors, please write and entertaining book. Thank you
September 10, 2023 This book is very FALL. The colors remind me of Fall therefore I am reading it. The book focuses on three characters: Clementine's aunt, Clementine, and a mysterious handsome man with a Southern accent and drawl, Iwan. Clementine was told by her aunt who passed away that the apartment has secrets. Her aunt met Vera; now she meets Iwan. Could this be true love? Could this be a coincidence? Idk but I am hooked
This is a book about a magical apartment, about who we are today, who we were in the past, and who we will be in the future. With themes of love, forgiveness, grief and fulfilling your dreams, I could not put it down! Every time I think the last book by Ashley Poston was my favorite, she comes out with a new one that steals my heart. I also loved getting a little Easter Egg glimpse at the characters from The Dead Romantics.
My fave bookstore has a buy 3 paperbacks/get 1 free a couple times a year, so of course I had to go. My sister & I ate lunch there & got to shop. Finally picked up The Anthropocene Reviewed, a favorite, but the others I haven‘t read. #bookhaul
Sitting on top of a reusable bag that says “Mostly Sane Cat Lover”, bought from a local business Titty Cat Tees (the titty is because she‘s a breast cancer survivor).
Not sure how many positive things I can possibly say about this book. I binge read it in one sitting.
Though I will admit to having to stop my brain from over analyzing the physics of the whole thing 😜😜.
Highly recommended. But maybe suspend your disbelief a little more than usual.

The Seven Year Slip isn‘t one for the world-building purists, but that‘s okay. The “magic” isn‘t the focus, it‘s the romance blooming between Clementine and the man her apartment took her seven years back in time to meet, Iwan. He‘s a time travelling manic pixie dream boy who says stuff like “When was the last time you did something for the first time?”. Full review: https://keepingupwiththepenguins.com/the-seven-year-slip-ashley-poston/
This was a lovely romance and exactly what I was looking for to counter some heavier reads right now 🩷. The time slip is a fun plot element as long as you don't think about the inconsistencies too hard and just go with it 😂.
