Today we finished reading this gem of a book. It was beautiful, whimsical & full of magic. I felt like a kid again, letting my imagination run & laughing with all the silliness & crazy adventures the characters experienced. I definitely recommend this book. Beware: this book could be considered as banned nowadays since certain terminology has changed its meaning through the decades. Also, some cultural aspects may clash.
Overall, a must read!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is my partner‘s favorite children‘s book. He read it to me & I loved it. He is now reading book 2 to me. I love the author descriptions & the illustrations are amazing. Her imagination & all the conflicts that arise. Such a fun read
.
⚠️ Beware this book is now a banned book given the fact many words used are now considered rude or insulting or have a different connotation. At the time it was written none of that mattered.

Can someone explain Scribd to me? Why are books that were available the other day (which I didn't keep saved, because my phone is always running out of space) not available now?

Again, it was never a favourite of mine as a child, but I still wanted to revisit the series for nostalgic purposes. The second book, in my opinion, was less magical and exciting than the first. Not entirely sure why but I felt it was rushed and didn‘t really stand out at all from the first one. I will continue the series for the sake of it though!

My 5 & 8 year old enjoyed reading a couple chapters a night of this at bedtime. This is my first time to read anything by Enid Blyton & we are looking to read more by her!

ramblingsofareader love love love The Magic Faraway Tree, one of my earliest memories is taking turns reading this with my mum! definitely the book that made me become a reader 5y
Curiouser_and_curiouser I would have to say the same @ramblingsofareader. This book definitely made me a reader!! I think read this over a dozen times as a child and I just recently read my old copy with my 7 year old. Truly a treasure. I have quite a lovely Enid Blyton collection. We are making our way through Mr Twiddle atm, we think he's hilarious. 4y

thegirlwiththelibrarybag I recently found out that there is a fourth book! A patron asked if we had the magic faraway tree in, and 'Up the faraway tree' popped up - I thought it must have been written by someone else or a repackaging for younger readers (faraway tree has been broken down into smaller books of about three chapters with lots of illustrations for early readers) but it's real - I can't wait for it to come in for me (only one copy and my reserve is number 2) (edited) 8y
