I think I‘m taking a little Litsy break for a few days...feeling like I need to unplug and disconnect, plus thanks to @Kimberlone I discovered The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and now I have 3 seasons to binge watch 😄

Librariana It has been a pretty lovely week, Cindy😊 Hubby and I did quite a bit of gardening this past weekend in preparing for an upcoming visit from my in-laws (haven't seen them since 2018 or so!) and today I get to leave work a little earlier to have lunch with him ☺🥰 Hope your week has turned out to be a great one! 3y

Starting Bk6 of March & Bk2 of the #MarvellousMarch #readathon Its a rainy Sunday here in Sydney & the hubby is away till tomorrow night so I‘m sprawled out in bed with my books, tea & chocolate, revelling in the quiet. He‘s not loud but he has a knack for appearing & wanting to talk just when the book gets interesting! And gets huffy if I say “hang on a minute”. Anyone else have a partner like that?

1. The recommendations for books I would never have read before joining Litsy, the community of amazing people, and the wide variety of events.
2. There‘s nothing that comes across my feed that bothers me.
3. I like the idea of having an Owned TBR list, and a Do Not Have TBR list
4. It varies, but normally multiple times throughout the day.
5. I‘ve taken part of and enjoyed them all.

Clwojick 6. I feel like one of the major things that is lacking in Litsy that was a major thing a few years ago is genuine conversation. Maybe people are more shy now, I‘m not sure... but there seems to be less back and forth conversation then before. Yes a comment here and there, but not as much back and forth. Does that make sense? 4y

Clwojick 6. Continued... I am a fan of the addition to “hide” a hashtag. I‘ve never needed to do so, but I like that the option is out there for others. I realize that not everyone wants to be apart of all events, so it‘s great to have the opening to “opt out” of having to view related posts. 4y

ljuliel Thanks for responding. Yes it‘d be a great help to know which books people already own on their tbr. It‘s a bit hard to know that with the current setup. You just have one long list of books in that area. 4y

ljuliel I agree about the conversations. A lot of that is lacking now. That‘s sort of the reason I put these questions up. To get people talking a bit amongst ourselves. Things have changed in here , but maybe we can turn it around somehow. I always think there are lots of lurkers that have yet to post. I‘d like to get them more involved too. It‘s really not scary to post. Most everyone in here is nice. I‘m probably the crabbiest one, but I can be nice🤨 4y

ljuliel @Bookish.SAM I‘m not a very good one to ask about the hashtag follows and unfollows . I can‘t get mine to work from online, so it apparently doesn‘t work for everyone. Hopefully someone will look into this. 4y

Crazeedi I didnt know you could hide a hashtag either. So much I dont know even after 3 years. I'm going to answer this after I've considered the questions a bit. I love Litsy 4y

Clwojick @Bookish.SAM if you go onto the Litsy website, not the app, and go to your profile settings and scroll down, there‘s a “Mute Hashtags” option. There‘s no option to follow a hashtag yet though. I agree that would be nice 4y

effani I'm new here, but I've been surprised at how little conversation there is in comments. It seems like the culture is to hit the “like“ button and move on, even if the poster asked a question. It's interesting to hear that hasn't always been the case. 4y

Clwojick @effani it definitely wasn‘t! I‘m not sure what exactly has changed about it. I know we all have our antisocial days, and we don‘t want to communicate too much, but I try to make a point of going back the next day and comments or reposting etc. @MrBook made a good point about just taking 15 minutes a day to actually reach out to one another and get give our fellow Littens the love they deserve. 🥰 4y

Lizpixie Yes, about conversation! It‘s disheartening to write a post with a question in it, even one as simple as Should I Read Book A or B? and not get any response. We used to talk a lot more when I first joined over 3yrs ago #OGsOfLitsy 4y

Clwojick @Lizpixie exactly! There used to be more free flowing communication. We would get tabs on each other, and wish each other well on big days, check up on each other if we haven‘t posted in a few days, ask how someone‘s sick cat is doing, or ask how the first few days at their new job is. I RARELY see that anymore. And I don‘t know if it‘s cause people stapling sharing those moments in their life‘s, or if others stopped caring enough to check in. 4y

gradcat @Bookish.SAM If you know what you‘re looking for, you could always find your favorite hashtags in the search feature under tags...that way, you can get right to them. It will help even if you only remember the first word. ♥️ 4y

RainyDayReading I agree with #6. I joined Litsy in 2017 and was seeing all these conversations in the comments between people like they had been friends for years! I was really hopeful that I would be able to forge friendships like that here but it never happened. I'm not sure what changed or when it changed but it did. I thought for a while that maybe it was because I don't read the same things as everyone else but I don't know. 4y

Megabooks @Cinfhen Yes, I was a suggested user up until a few months ago. (That‘s why I have 18k followers.) It‘s kind of frustrating because you get a lot of new followers, but a lot of them never post. It‘s hard to separate the posters/interested new users from the casual account makers. Megabooks Out of Print asked me if I wanted to be a suggested user in the summer of 2016, and I thought, “Great, I‘ll get to meet a lot more people.” But after awhile, it was really wearing on me, especially when I was depressed. I wish I had grown my new followers more organically. #FoodforThought 5y

DebinHawaii Such a nice idea for a giveaway @Cinfhen 🤗I share the pain of too many followers. I was made a suggested user back in the day & felt obligated to follow everyone because the SU list had so few current people on it. When I had my health scare I got behind & then went to only following those who posted & I still have 14K+ followers although I follow about 1/2 that number due to the low posting rate. It does make it an effort to see friend's posts😟 5y

TrishB I only follow back now when people have posted or interacted with me. I still have too many just no time to think about culling really. I tend to look individually at friends every couple of days if I think I‘ve missed their posts. 5y

Centique @TrishB I do the same thing Trish. And my time difference is such that I need to go look up friends each time I‘m on here and see what I‘ve missed - which is why I all of a sudden turn up and like eight posts at once! 😂 5y

Centique Just out of interest - even before Library Thing - when I first started on here I went searching for people to follow, looking up different names and consistently found about two thirds of each search return were blank accounts. It seemed bizarre that it was such a massive percentage - they should clean some out I reckon. 5y
