I came across this one today. It comes from 'elegy'. Another definition calls it wistfully mournful, which I liked
The book I read it in was describing a poem in which "she sees the woman she‘s in love with sitting next to a man, and admires his composure. Because she knows if she were the one sitting next to the woman, she would be at a loss for words."
I've been reading a lot more poetry this month so I appreciate this new word

peanutnine I believe the poem described was Catullus 51 for anyone interested https://www.poetryintranslation.com/PITBR/Latin/Catullus.php#... 6d

Stumbled upon this word in my last read - The Devil and Mrs. Davenport (great book). I didn‘t know there was a specific word for speaking in tongues, but I mean, apparently there is a word for everything 😂🙌🏻 #weirdwords #weirdwordwednesday

Deblovestoread Oooo, I like that word! Thanks for the tag! 6d
CatLass007 I think I‘ve heard this one before. Maybe on an episode of House? Still, great to have all the extra info. 6d

Congrats everyone who finished all the words in March or any words because you got books off your TBRs!

If you did not see my previous post, March‘s Movie was Red Eye

2025 Theme: my favorite movies!

Now who is ready to figure out April‘s #WickedWords Movie?
- Gambling
- Singer
- Fish
- Portuguese
- Massachusetts

Feel free to guess, I will reveal at the end of the month!

Lauredhel Yikes! Gotta grep my Calibre library for this set... 2w
