I read this 15 years ago and was rather lukewarm about it. This time round I found it much funnier, though I'm not sure whether I've developed a sense of humour or am just more tolerant of inanity.
Previously a so-so but now maybe a very low pick.
So sad to hear Sophie Kinsella has passed away from the same awful kind of brain cancer as Gord Downie

pickA reread from forever and ever ago. I still enjoy Becky and all her misadventures. It‘s a bit dated, but considering all the bank letter state the month and year it didn‘t feel as out of date as it would have otherwise.

pickThis book made me cry with laughter. Honestly couldn‘t stop turning the pages. The main characters desire for shopping is one that we can all relate too however she shows exactly why we don‘t give in 😂. I can‘t wait to read the second book. #17 read a book published in the year 2000.

pickI‘ve never read any of the tagged series - until now! Honestly, my goal was simply to read the original, call the series done, and donate my other books unread. I didn‘t expect to be as entertained as I was, and now I kind of want to keep going. I like Becky Bloomwood!
pickI finished this days ago and completely forgot to post. I read Christmas Shopaholic last year and loved it, so I knew I had to see where it all started. Rebecca is such a fun and quirky character. Looking forward to continuing this series.

panI was a full 2/3 into the book before I actually started enjoying the story and caring about Becky Bloomwood. I‘m surprised I didn‘t DNF, honestly. Of course, the ending wraps up too quickly and there is no way Becky would end up as lucky as she did. For now, I‘m just glad I‘m finished and can move onto something else. I have no idea if I‘ll ever pick up the rest of the series, but I do own them.
Sidenote: I‘ve never seen this movie!
Needed something light after two heavy books. Since I‘m driving a lot for work this week, I chose this Sophie Kinsella because her standalones are so charming. I‘m almost half thru this one, though, and the MC Becky is insufferable!! I‘m going to listen while I drive today but if it doesn‘t start to turn upward soon, I‘m bailing.
I liked Becky more when I read from my paperback this morning, so perhaps I‘m just not clicking with the audio🤷🏻♀️

It was long my habit to finish holiday shopping before Thanksgiving. I haven't achieved that goal in recent years . . . until this year! Now that the "kids" are grown & flown, gifts tend to be smaller and more expensive. So, even with one more in the family now, the pile is "manageable."

I'm actually glad that I had already watched the movie years ago. If I had read the book first, I wouldn't have wanted to see the movie.

Its reading time...yay! This probably makes me sound like a bad crazy parent but I love my free time. I love my kids but they can be a handful and drive me more insane than I already am. So anyways I am on the last bit of this book. It's taken me awhile becuz I either fall asleep when reading or just am too tired to read. It sucks getting old. Ok I'm shutting up now. 🤞🤞🤞 that I finish it tonight!

Still trying to get my book pick done for #NWC. While I'm listening to it, I'm trying to get the Weekly Check-Ins done for the groups. I apologize for it being so late in the day. pick⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I very much liked this funny book about a major shopaholic in extreme debt. Even though Rachel is horribly frustrating mostly because she‘s always lying, the book is written in a very funny style and each scenario made me want to find out how she was going to ever get herself out of such a mess. I read this with #novelwatchingcrew #NWC as an August Chick Lit pick!

A couple of my friends and I decided to start a book club/buddy read and this is our first book! I‘m pretty sure it‘s a reread for all of us, which will be fun. I‘m a few chapters in and I think I hate the main character Becky? Hoping I remember what I liked about her the first few times I read this!
