Love it

I really enjoyed this first in the Bibliophile Mystery series. A cozy mystery with some language and an unique set of characters, including commune-living family. Brooklyn Wainwright is a bookbinder and is commissioned to work on a copy of Faust, after her mentor, who was previously hired to work on it, is found murdered. So many details about bookbinding...I learned so much and cannot wait to read the next in the series!
This is not my genre, I thought I would give it a try to help w/ stress relief. Living very near where it‘s set (SF & Sonoma), the lack of traffic and easy parking is horribly unbelievable. But the book restoration described is spot on! So it‘s a so-so and not a bail. Brooke is a commune girl, super book restorer who decides to find out who murdered her old mentor. She meets sexy men, drives a car in SF, and discovers the killer. 2/5 stars
I‘m hooked! I have found my next Bibliophile themed Cozy Mystery series! I love Brooklyn, the main character and bookbinder extraordinaire- witty and sarcastic 🍷 🍕 Put a hold on my library Libby app on Book 2 and 3, both of which should be available in 2 weeks !
GUYS. I‘m in LOVE with this first book of the Bibliophile Mystery Cozy Mystery series. 😍I‘m fairly new to Cozy mysteries, and the last bookish series ( and my first to the CM genre) was Jenn McKinlay‘s Library Lovers Mystery, which I fell head over heels for. 💙Still have plenty of homework to do to finish the last bit of my MLS summer grad class, but I have been taking some good short breaks.
I‘m catching up on my reviews today. Catch-up post #1: *Someone* (who shall remain nameless) bought me the twelfth book in this series for Christmas. Twelfth. In her defense, I do read the Fixer Upper series by the same author so it was a pretty safe bet I would like these. So, this is the first one. And I liked it. It was very well done. I didn‘t figure out whodunit before the end. My only qualm is the MC is a little damsel-in-distress for me.
Oh my goodness @PatriciaU !!! I am feeling so spoiled. What an amazing #CozySwap package!!!! FOUR BOOKS?! THANK YOUUUU. They all look so absolutely fun. And the scarf, shirt, socks, tea, story sticky notes, and vintage library cards are SO fun. Also, that bag, it ZIPS!! That is marvelous. Thank you so much. ♡♡♡♡
Thank you @Avanders for such a perfect fall swap!!
My #coffeebeanbookclub book has made it home after a year away, and it brought some of my favorite coffee. ☕ 😄
@Mommamanzi
This was a really good #cozymystery about a book restorationist whose mentor is murdered and she takes it upon herself to solve the crime. #cozyinthesun @ferskner @Librarybelle

A cozy mystery on this wintry day. #24b4Monday
That's a pretty sweet way to start a book.
Typical cozy mystery. I prefer the book themed ones. This was fun and I didnt guess the murderer at all. I dont know if that makes me clueless or what but I liked it. But honestly instead of a cryptic message as your last words just say the killer...saves a lot of time
I forgot how much I like cozy mysteries. I'm whipping through this one!
Still on a cozy kick! With this one, It took me a little while to get into it, but once it hit that momentum-sweet-spot, it read quickly & enjoyably. I liked the mystery & characters; was okay w the setting & "romance-element"; & found the side characters well-written: just enough to fill the story & create suspense, while also offering feelings of peace & coziness. I liked the end and esp. the epilogue end. I'll definitely check out book #2!
Apparently I'm in a bibliophile book mood! I just realized that the book I just finished and need to return to the library is the same genre is the book I needed to pick up at the library 😂 Interesting and fun, homicide in hardcover is a great little cozy mystery for any book lover 😊 Now, on to Murder in the Locked Library...
Although I figured out pretty early on who the killer was this cozy was still a great read! A back drop of book binding and restoration made it an enjoyable book! I will for sure be checking out more of this series!!
I haven‘t figured out what motivates the character of minka lebouef but I know I don‘t like her... #deviouscharacter #readingresolutions @Jess7
FREE Hardcovers in boxes waiting for those who show up at #phillymeetup2 tomorrow. They need a new home and would like to go home with you.
When all other work is neglected, I console myself completing this #cozymystery for #Booked2018
#eBook #overdrive
Fans of this genre will enjoy this mix of whodunit, bookish and bohemian elements. I especially like the parts on book restoration which will be main reason for me to continue with the #series
Really, I was only safe around books. Books I could take care of. Living things, not so much.
"... mostly I just love books."
#bookish #cozymystery means being in the company of book lovers and more books! #Booked2018 #overdrive #eBook

#cozymystery - Hardcover Homicide (not quite a fan of this genre but #bookish plots lure me to such series ;) #readingWomen #readingWomenChallenge
#feminist classic - Nellie Bly's writings and globetrotting accounts (around the world in 72 days) make fascinating read.
I read this sporadically last year and intend to start from beginning to properly complete it.
I suppose they could also qualify for #LitWorld2018GB - USA

Well, I've finished my book, but the baby girl is making her debut on her own schedule. Nervous Auntie over here!
This book was a trip! I've never read any of the bibliophile mysteries, so it's fun to start with the first. It is a little too edgy to be my cup of tea, but I like kooky, and there is plenty of kooky. Especially when it comes to Brooklyn's family! I believe I'll keep an eye out for book two!
Starting my new birthday book, while I wait for my new niece to arrive. 😬😍🎉
What a fun challenge! @cobwebmoth gave me brown for #bookcolortag. All fun books!
@bookish22 @Ms_T @llwheeler I'd love to see your orange books! 🍊
I mean these are all print books... there is nothing else that keeps my attention as well! Ebooks and audio have their benefits but nothing beats holding it in my hand! #6666giveaway congrats to getting 6666!
This book was great. It was set in San Francisco instead of a small town but I loved the characters and writing so much that I didn't care. The book binding information is inaccurate, but since it's not a text book I'm willing to forgive it.
Officially my response when people ask me to explain myself. 😁😁😁😂😂😂
This was a such a bloody fun read. Read it in one day. But if you love books about books with a dash of dashing males, a sprinkle of quirkiness, a healthy serving of sass, and an undertone of MURDER then this 👆here book is for you. I'm looking forward to renting the next books in the series from my local library! #booksaboutbooks#mudermystery#supportourlibraries

If I were at the beach right now I'd catch up with Brooklyn and the gang in Kate Carlisle's bibliophile mysteries. One of things I enjoy most about this series is the details about bookbinding & restoration mentioned throughout. (I borrowed this image from the interweb because I borrow cozies from the library). #augustphotochallenge #augustofpages
About to start a new Obsidian Mystery series!! I'm so excite 🤓
