23 #49 I liked this one a lot.
James Henderson, a paparazzi, will chase Grace Kelly into Duval, a perfume store in Monaco, where she will meet the owner and perfumist, Sophie. All 3 will have no idea how important this chance meeting will play out. This is a romance set against the backdrop of Grace Kelly‘s engagement to the Prince of Monaco. It was sweet and lovely. It had me feeling wistful. There were some one liners in here that just turned my heart light on. Pick!
I enjoyed this historical fiction tale about two “ordinary” people - a French perfumer and a British photographer - caught up in the excitement and glamour of Grace Kelly‘s marriage to Prince Rainier in 1956. The details of the craziness surrounding the wedding were fascinating. I also enjoyed learning a bit about how perfumes are created. And the descriptions of the gorgeous Côte d‘Azur scenery made me want to hop on a plane to France!
This was a sweet, fun romance set to the backdrop of Grace Kelly‘s royal wedding.
Also my #doublespin for March @TheAromaofBooks

I have always been fascinated by Grace Kelly who was Hollywood #Royalty before she became Her Serene Highness The Princess Grace of Monaco. I have these two books on my Kindle TBR that I will eventually get around to reading. 👑🤍
Finished this one today and really enjoyed it! I‘m not an old movie person, so idk if I‘ve ever seen a Grace Kelly movie. However, I still really enjoyed this book about Grace, Sophie and James.

The next few days are going to be nonstop going for me, so I'm taking my last chance to relax and enjoying every moment (and bite 🤣).
I‘m on vacation watching my cousin‘s three year old but managed to finish my #doublespin during his nap! This was nice and light. You could tell right away where it was going, but it was a good easy read.
A light historical fiction novel that uses the theme of fragrance and the life of Grace Kelly to propel the story forward. There aren‘t any deep revelations within this novel, but the book still ticked all of my boxes, i.e. historically accurate, enticing setting, likeable characters, and a well constructed plot. I also appreciate the fact that the authors left a small twist at the end, which kept it from being tied up too perfectly.
The sweet tale of a French parfumier who hides Grace Kelly from a photographer only to fall for the lovely, persistent photographer despite the complications in both of their lives. This is historical fiction with a strong theme of love, woven around the courtship and wedding of Kelly and Prince Ranier. Another one for #ReadingEurope2020 @Librarybelle @BarbaraBB
The ending was not great, but I really enjoyed the rest of this book. I was surprised how much I enjoyed it because the heart of the story follows a romantic relationship between a photographer and a perfume maker who meet accidentally in Monaco thanks to Grace Kelly. Listening to the techniques for creating perfume scents was interesting, and the parts with Grace Kelly were excellent.
Gatsby wanted to look her best for my next read.
Historical fiction about grace Kelly sort of? But also about people in the perfume industry in that area.

I‘ve always romanticized the Grace Kelly story so reading the fictional Sophie Duvall befriend her was a perfect way to spend a day.
I read this because I‘ve always been a big fan of Grace Kelly. I enjoyed seeing a glimpse of her story on the periphery of the 2 main characters and the impact she has on their lives. The parts centered on Grace were excellent, the rest less so. I liked it but it is not perfect. Recommended to fans of historical fiction and Old Hollywood. 3.5⭐️

Meet Me in Monaco is the second book I've read from duo Hazel Gaynor and Heather Webb--we read their book Last Christmas in Paris as our Unabridged Podcast Book Club pick in December--and I think I overall like this one even more. (Thanks, Sara, for the gift!) The figure at its center is Hollywood sensation Grace Kelly and her journey, in the 1950s, from film star to Princess of Monaco. ⬇️
Grace Kelly, by happenchance, meets a perfumer trying to make ends meet around the time she also met Prince Ranier, in this mostly lighthearted romance. Kelly‘s car crash that killed her was tragic, as was how the authors decided to end the story about the perfumer‘s life. I can‘t say more without giving away the story except to say the ending only makes sense in a world where a little detective work and travel across one border are impossible. ⬇️
1. Tagged, a perfect counterbalance to the nonfiction book I‘m reading, King Leopold‘s Ghost and Audible book, Everyone Knows You Go Home

Publisher summary: Movie stars flock to Cannes for the glamorous film festival, but Grace Kelly, the biggest star of all, wants to escape from the flash-bulbs. When struggling perfumer Sophie Duval shelters Miss Kelly in her boutique to fend off a persistent British press photographer, a bond is forged between the two women and sets in motion a chain of events that stretches across thirty years...
The perfect book to read on the beach while sipping Mojito‘s. Meet Me in Monaco is an amazing story, with characters I fell in love with. An absolute delight.
This historical fiction about the wedding of Grace Kelly and a parfumeur in the south of France felt like the perfect book to read in this amazing tub - a rare treat. Not even a minute after getting in, the hotel fire alarm went off 🤦🏻♀️😂
I remember when Princess Grace died and the sadness that it brought to everyone that knew her as a star and princess. This book looks at the story of a perfumer and a photographer who meet because of the American girl who became a princess. Love the speech excerpt from Jimmy Stewart at the end of the book. Note: read every page when this story ends. Princess Grace, the first American princess.
Thank you @HarperCollins publishers for this beautiful book!! And Goodreads !! 🥳🎉🎊❤️
Royal Wedding and romance is the fragrance of this amazing historical fiction retelling of the wedding of Grace Kelly to Prince Rainer of Monaco. Intertwined in the real-life happenings is the story of Sophie Duval, perfumer, who is working hard to maintain the family business. Also appearing on the scene is James Henderson, struggling photographer and single Dad trying to make it to the top by following around the future Princess.
Have a great Monday & week ahead everyone!!! 😀👊
Thanks @JoScho for another fun #ManicMonday #EmojiMadness 😊
A beautiful fictionalized account of Grace Kelly's wedding set in the stunning locations of Cannes and Monaco. The rich scent of perfume held the storyline. A story of unlikely friends, love that spanned decades, and perseverance. Loved it from beginning till the end!
Not one of mine, but looks good!
I‘ve been to Monaco a few times, but not seen much of it, as it‘s always been for motor racing so the whole town is covered in grandstands!

MEET ME IN MONACO smells as delightful as the Duval parfumerie in Cannes. You can just smell the scents of jasmine, violets, lavender and tuberose wafting from the shop‘s beautiful glass bottles, on the streets of Cannes and from the fields of Grasse, where Sophie‘s family has grown their flowers for generations. I couldn‘t stop myself from inhaling the pages.. https://www.bluestockingreviews.com/blog/meet-me-in-monaco

If you are looking for a light, romantic summer read, this comes out in July. Two people meet due to an encounter with Grace Kelly during her visit to Cannes for the film festival, which is also when she meets her husband Prince Rainier.
I read it in a day and really enjoyed it, especially the slightly unconventional ending. I also love the gorgeous cover.
