It. Film Tie-In
It. Film Tie-In | Stephen King
NOW A MAJOR MOTION PICTURE - Stephen King's terrifying classic. 'They float...and when you're down here with me, you'll float, too.' Derry, Maine is just an ordinary town: familiar, well-ordered for the most part, a good place to live. It is a group of children who see - and feel - what makes Derry so horribly different. In the storm drains, in the sewers, IT lurks, taking on the shape of every nightmare, each one's deepest dread. Sometimes is appears as an evil clown named Pennywise and sometimes IT reaches up, seizing, tearing, killing . . . Time passes and the children grow up, move away and forget. Until they are called back, once more to confront IT as IT stirs and coils in the sullen depths of their memories, emerging again to make their past nightmares a terrible present reality.

I finally delved into King. It took some time for the writing style to mesh with me. My enjoyment of the book improved once it did. I love the characters and themes. Some ending beats miss their mark with me, but I appreciate so much of the other stuff. Imma read more King.

ljuliel I‘ve only read a few of his books. They are an acquired taste, I think. You sorta have to let your brain go a bit and let him tell you a story. And so far, I haven‘t found any that have endings that I like. (. I sorta like things all tied up in a neat package at the end , with answers about why, etc. ) you don‘t see that a lot with his books. ( of those I‘ve read). My husband loves his books , and enjoys the strange ride King takes him on. 12h

Well I finished this one finally ☠️ took awhile but I‘m glad it‘s done. Definitely not for everyone but overall it‘s compelling and twisted. Now I want to pick up something light and fun! 😆

I finally finished reading IT! It only took me 3 months (that‘s where sewing for 8-10 hours a day will get ya 😂). I loved this book! Was it perfect? No. While I understand why it was so long, I could have done with less. There was a ton of racism, abuse, etc and it‘s hard to digest in such a quantity, but it is Derry after all. I loved the characters and the message: bravery and hope are fragile but hard to kill. Especially with friends.

LibrarianRyan I love the fabric on your book sleeve! 1w
SewHappyStitchHappy @LibrarianRyan Thank you! I created this sleeve exclusively for a book box about a year ago, but I kept an extra one for myself 🤣 1w

1. I think Krampus is really fascinating. I also love ghost stories and witchy stories.
2. I love the 2015 Krampus movie. Both funny and scary. I also love Psycho and Cabin in the Woods.
3. 🎈🤡
4. American Horror Story, but I haven‘t seen the latest season yet. Buffy is my fave TV show of all time. Original Twilight Zone.
5. Gore isn‘t my fave but also isn‘t a dealbreaker.
6. Fave ghost story?

So I would love to think what you guys thought about this book. I‘m not one to over analyze a book and am pretty generous with my stars. I can buy all that he selling in this book except for the part when this little girl decides that the only thing that can save her and her friends is to give herself to a group of six boys. Besides that this thing was a marathon and I‘m glad I got through it. #it #stephenking #Derry #TheBarrens

UnidragonFrag This book is so intimidating for me. Chunksters take me SO long to read, that thinking about that months long commitment gives me anxiety lol 😬 1mo

HH_Baby_j @Novel_Crawler @UnidragonFrag that‘s exactly how I‘m getting through it. And it‘s still taking me all of October till now and I‘m still not done. But I don‘t think there is any better combination than audible and kindle. Kinda sucks your double paying for the same book. But it‘s worth it to me. 1mo

I recently started an online book club on Facebook if anybody is interested in joining. It's brand new and we are just testing the waters and have not chosen a book to read yet. But with the feedback I've been getting from people, I imagine most of the books that we will be reading or going to be dystopian, Adventure, sci-fi/fantasy, horror, Thrillers, and some contemporaries. Search the group name on Facebook if you're interested.

Finished my sixth re-read of this novel. It's a book that looks at so many ideas within it, it is probably impossible to sum it up with a short character count, but I'll try. It shows the issues of childhood really are the same as in adulthood. Though our fears may change, the fact that they all stem from our childhood shows the influence and importance of the people we know, whether we like them or not. It is twisted in places but it has heart.

How can a book be both SO horrifying as well as wholesome? Leave it to Stephen King I guess! This story had me jumping at any and every sound in the night. I even got spooked out while I was cleaning the dishes one evening. Nightmares nearly every night that I had read it before bed.. If that‘s not talent, I don‘t know what is. ⚠️Review continues in the comments

BookBumming Probably the longest it‘s ever taken me to read a book (besides the Bible) but part of me didn‘t want the story to end! I was hooked. A lot of people said it could have been 400 pages shorter. But I disagree. In my opinion all 1,156 pages (4 pounds) of this book was necessary. 2mo
BookBumming I fell in love with the Losers‘ Club, I really am going to miss them. Each character was written SO well. Even side characters were written dynamically.
If you want to read something that is going to make you shake in your boots, scratch your head, cry, AND laugh.. pick up Stephen King‘s IT. 🎈🤡🕸🕷
