I‘ve had this book sitting on my shelves and now that I finally picked it up I am bailing. The reason is probably me, but I enjoyed the realistic parts but couldn‘t focus on the demons etc. I really tried but I cannot do it for hundreds of pages.

Preschool pickup and my book. 😎
Having a rough time reading this week due to the passing of my husband‘s grandma on Tuesday. I felt like I needed a crazy adventure. 🤪 Rereading the Passage!
Haven‘t been reading much because of this spooky boy, but I‘m hoping to get back in the swing, even if it‘s slowly. I signed up for #scarathlon and I‘m going to try #bookspinbingo again in October! (Okay maybe I‘ll shoot for just the #bookspin lol). Do kiddo Halloween books? 😬
Currently enjoying the tagged on audio! Scott Brick = 😍
#Two4Tuesday
1. Such a good question—have to go with post-apocalyptic on this one
2. The tagged book would be my top recommendation. Combine the collapse of society, and the aftermath, with vampires as they were meant to be—no sparkles here—and you get a dark, terrifying, & utterly engrossing story. Inspired by the author‘s daughter who asked him to write a story about a girl who saves the world, this book is a favorite
@TheSpineView
Reviewed as a cross between The Girl With All the Gifts and The Road how could I not like this post-apocalyptic trilogy? But 37 hours? And that‘s just book one!

Prompt: I Am Legend
The Passage is one of those books that has stuck with me for awhile 🦇 more than just about vampires and #theundead it really explores what it‘s like to be human, the weight of it ❤️ #haunted @Eggs @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks
I renewed this book so many times. Maybe it‘s the crazy pandemic times that we are in, but I just couldn‘t get into it
Epic. The first half is pre-apocalypse. Most characters and events here will seem to have no relevance later. Post- apocalypse, the story really begins with a whole new cast of characters. Getting over this hump is crucial. By the end it all comes together, even though this is the first part of a series. As much as I love tales of the end of the world, I admit being a bit fatigued of the premise by now, but this is a high mark of the genre.
Finally getting back into some reading. Thanks, snow days and long weekends! Teaching in a pandemic is exhausting 😭😷🙏
I‘m reading this now (book published in 2010) when two character names jumped out at me. I guess this book has big fans at Lucasfilm?
Wow, this story is quite the start to what I imagine is going to be an intense and thrillingly epic series! It is really long - I‘m not sure I would have been able to get through it as quickly as I did without listening to the audiobook - but I was never bored or annoyed by the length. I will say that it felt more like two separate books than one cohesive one, but that‘s nitpicking. Great character development and world building! 🌟🌟🌟🌟
A good post apocalyptic story. The world building was excellent. The only thing about this is it gets a bit verbose at times and I am not a fan of the constant changing POVs. 4⭐
First book in a series to be completed in 2021. #SeriesRead2021
1. The first several chapters of Dracula. The journey to the castle and first introduction are stellar. 2. Only Lovers Left Alive. 3. The tagged book was excellent. #spookysaturday
The first half of this vampire doorstopper was a solid 5-star read. Page-turning, edge of my seat, wait...are we in the future? Cool! It was great.
The second half was a bloated slog with too many characters, almost with the same traits, ugh, these people are impossible to remember. Who is whose sister? Wait, are these people a couple? How far into the future are we? Will I read the 2nd one? 🤷♀️
I feel exhausted after finishing this first one in the series. The beginning was intriguing, the middle began to lose me, and the ending pulled me back in. I enjoyed following the characters on each of their journeys but at times it got really wordy. Not sure if I‘m going to read on yet. On one hand I want to know what happens but on the other, I‘m not sure I want to tackle another massive book. October 5/20
Unpopular opinion. I thought this was just so-so. Maybe it was the [12-disc!] abridgment, but I‘m not sure I could‘ve lasted for an entire unabridged edition. I was originally planning to read the entire trilogy, but I don‘t think I liked it enough to want to continue. 😕
#3Books [That were RECOMMENDED to me]
1.) From Here to Eternity, my girlfriend recommended this and it was good to read something different and interesting.
2.) The Passage, an absolutely brilliant book; the first in a trilogy that was recommended when the novel came out and I was a member of a FB book club.
3.) Coldheart Canyon, one of my favourite Barker books; recommended by an old friend.
@OriginalCyn620 @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks
I‘m late! Here are #3books that have been made into TV series.
AGOT - I watched the first season and decided to read the books. I may never read the rest because he may never finish the series. 🤷🏼♀️
The Passage - I need to finish the trilogy so I may go back and reread this one. I didn‘t see the series.
Alias Grace - I enjoyed this one, but still need to watch the Netflix series.
#3Books #borrowedfromthelibrary
My absolute favorite audiobooks borrowed from the library. I adore Scott Brick and will listen to anything he reads. ❤️
A non police procedural/mystery/thriller series that I like! I don‘t read a ton of sci-fi but I liked this! #Top20series #20series20days
#20Series20Days Day 4
Just a trilogy but each book is a big one so I‘m including Cronin‘s The Passage in my #Top20Series. Why? This is vampires done the right way—dark, violent, terrifying, & the end of the world as we know it. Plus, I have to admire an author who breaks all the rules, quite successfully I believe, in challenging conventional narrative structures. This one isn‘t for the faint of heart but I love it.
@Andrew65
Disclaimer: my #Top20Series are going to be in no particular order. It was hard enough to narrow down to 20, so I won‘t be ranking them further. 😂
Day 1/20: The Passage trilogy by Justin Cronin is post-apocalyptic horror that never stopped surprising me. The first book is almost like 2 books in one (in a good way), and the subsequent books are just as fresh and unique.
If I were forced to rank my #20Series20Days, this would be near the top!
Today I‘m going to catch of on some very, very overdue #Listylove letters and thank you notes including some little gifts I‘ll be making and sending out. Happy Sunday, y‘all!!!
I‘m grateful for books, especially fiction, today. This book provided what I needed when I was feeling drained and when I couldn‘t sleep yesterday.
This AMAZING book is on sale today! I love love love this trilogy!
Perhaps I wouldn‘t have started reading this with Seth (12) if I‘d known a global pandemic was coming but he loves some dystopian fiction and this is one of my favourite books of all time. The cover shows I‘ve read this 3 times, and then pressed it into the hands as many people as I can. It was the first post-apocalypse fiction I ever read, it blew me away and opened up a whole new genre and now I‘ve read it with my boy. Those are the best books.
#7days7books: 7 books that have left a deep impression or changed me
Day 6: The Passage (and the rest of this series) for blowing my mind and making me an audiobook believer. (Scott Brick = 🤩)
Care to join in with your 7 books, @AmyG and @mklong ?
The book hooks you into a story and then flips like a switch. Didn‘t finish it.
Staying in as much as possible is really not that bad
Ideal Bookshelf 1150: 🦠 Viruses 🦠
1. Out of work as of Wednesday next week for three weeks. I have an older family member who has been exposed and is being watched. This member has been around my parents who are seriously high risk. We are praying. Can‘t give mire info than that.
2. We hope we have enough toilet paper.
3. O plans so none to cancel.
4. The Passage, have not been able to sit and read. Stressed.
5. Locke and Key
@laurenslibrary
This has never been more true!
Whew this was a long book. I picked this up because I seen it was a tv show on fox and wanted to get a read on this before watching the show. I loved the idea about an orphan girl who is The One who will save the world. The only downside of this book is that I felt it was a little long and could have been cut down some pages.
Excellent daily deal today #99ponkindle
I love this book - I think I've read it twice, which is rare in my adult life. Only very few books get this privilege 😉
All of these!
1. Tagged book and The Tale of a Halcyon Crane on audio. I also have The Ice Twins on my app.
2. The a I‘ll, Saint X, Perfect Little Children, and The End of Her
3. Moose (large dog), Coco(small dog), Rex and Linus (very large male cats, Baby Tiger (kitten). I also have two female gerbils in my classroom.

#MarchMadness Day 5: Not sure about #SafePassage but Cronin‘s The Passage and the rest of the books in the series has been sitting in my shelves unread. Should I bump it up my TBR stack?
#SundayShelfie
I have bookcases in my library, living and dining rooms, basement, second floor landing, and bedroom. So yeah, I pretty much have books everywhere and am now moving beyond bookcases (even as I try to get them under control 😂) to find places for books. This stack is in the dining room—tagged book is my favorite in the stack and is one of three copies I have—which probably helps to explain why my shelves are overflowing. ❤️📚❤️
Finally finished listening to this chunkster last night- it only took me 15 days lol! Engrossing storyline, curious to see how it all pans out in the end. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
January so far:
⭐️4 audiobooks
⭐️2 e-arcs
Listening to the tagged book.
