Welcome to Litsy!

An impromptu camping trip to Hope, AK (an old gold mining town founded at the turn of the 19th century) interrupted my plans to take part in the #HolidayEscape weekend festivities. Here‘s a picture of the view from the end of the road in Hope, overlooking the Chugach Mountains and Turnagain Arm. We listened to the “Floorfillers” playlist from Spotify on Saturday night, which had a great mix of modern and vintage classics.

Since I‘m on vacation/holiday, I had to add one more photo. ☀️ Thinking of you all and hoping to maybe read a couple of chapters at some point! 😅 With babies ages 7 and 9, it‘s hard, but obvs totally okay. It‘s going to be an amazing week!

I had never taken the time to build a Summertime playlist before so I made one last night. Filled with songs that I always turn the volume up with my windows rolled down and a few newer songs. It‘s a work in progress with some that will remain and others that may not and more to be added later. I‘d go out now to test it out but it‘s suppose to hit 105 today and 113 tomorrow so it will have to wait.

No access to my snaps, but here are my favorite vacation memories💕😎
* Student days- Uni trip to Paris fashion week (flirted our way in to some shows!)
*Old job…Staying in a chateau/working vineyard in Bordeaux, & Private dining in the cellars in Champagne
* Girl‘s trips - Maldives (weird I know!), NYC for Hamilton, Pacific coast highway in a convertible
*With hubby- Romantic getaway to Rome, watching tons of bats fly at sunset in Austin TX 💕😎

A day late, but here a few of my favorite trips. Before kids (Paris 2009, Rome 2011) and after. 😂 Maybe one day we‘ll go back to Europe! The top middle is Oscar Wilde‘s tomb. 💚 #HolidayEscape

Florida is definitely far from perfect (!) but I do feel lucky to live in a place where it‘s summer 24/7! So my playlist is an all year round one!
Hubby was a DJ for a while when he was young, so EDM is always a summer vibe in our house! No travel for us this year, but we made a vacation spot on our patio… we bought a hot tub, faced it to sunset across the lake, and put on our summer vibes each night! Link in comments 💕

Finally made my vacation collage! These are trips I took between 2003-2009. I think those were the years I enjoyed traveling the most. It‘s hard to say which trip was my favorite because each place was so unique, and all but Sarasota I had never visited before. Those were great years! 😁😁 #HolidayEscape

These pics are a few of the things I love to do and can‘t wait to get back to. (Top to right) Exploring an old city, enjoying sunsets and hiking.

I don‘t know when life will ever get back to normal again. I don‘t think normal will be the same. But one thing common in all these pics is enjoying the little things in life. My mantra for now :)

I must confess I haven‘t take a true #holidayescape or vacation in years as most of the time friends & family come & see me. Also, I didn‘t have many vacay pics on my phone but here are a few:

Top Throwbacks: A favorite family Oregon coast vacation pic circa ‘69? I‘m the one being held like a sack of potatoes by my mom. Also my sisters & I at the OR coast sometime in the “80s I think.

My first overseas trip in 2018 to Ireland and is my favorite trip to date. Travelled with my dad and two brothers. We are part Irish, all of us love history especially the history of this country that has been through so much. We spent 10 days and loved every minute. The pic is the only one of us together with the owner of the Moy River B&B. They were lovely as was their home. Ready for Covid to be over and go again. #HolidayEscape

My current escape doesn‘t look very exciting but it‘s much needed. The girls and I are up at the lake and staying in my parents‘ new camper, a sort of overflow setup. My absolute favorite part is the cozy “bedroom” with its little built in side tables. BUT we are off on an adventure for the next 24 hours so look out for another pic later today! #holidayescape

Side note: I haven‘t even cracked open Orkney yet. 🙈

Two *very* different types of holiday here…. Too left is camping in our little van - we‘ve had Tufty for 2.5 years now, although of course we‘ve not been able to go anywhere for a while, we have been away twice in the last month! 😁

And then NYC, of course! My favourite place, we‘ve been 8 times and hope to be able to go again soon - maybe next year?! 🤞🏻

Thank you @Cinfhen and @BarbaraBB for getting me to remember some beloved holidays. I think I‘ve mentioned loving New York before - it is still the most amazing place I‘ve ever been. When I finished chemo (many years ago) I decided I wanted to see Niagara Falls and my hub added New York and Disneyland to the trip. I had heard about It‘s a Small World since I was a tot & I basically cried the whole way round I was so thrilled to be there. ⬇️

Unfortunately, the last 18 months has seen me pretty much rooted.
I had the best intentions to post all the places I‘ve been but life got in the way…..here‘s a small sampling of photos I found conveniently all in one box. #FeelingLazy
My favorite vase, which you‘ve seen a zillion times was from a trip to Venice ❤️
