#LittensLoveRomance September Read Discussion (the second). Thanks to those of you who read The Stand-In - our second pick for the month of September. Here are some discussion questions - feel free to add your own down below!

#LittensLoveRomance Ch.39-41 (end) - what a great ending to the story! I feel like things were wrapped up well (although I‘d love to see a story with Fangli and Chen). I loved the romantic ending for Sam and Gracie and I loved that her dream of an app came true. I was left very satisfied and smiley.

#LittensLoveRomance Ch.37-38: K, so I totally knew it was Mei who called the tabloid, but I didn‘t suspect the other bombshell that was dropped - about Fangli. Did anyone else see that coming? I love that Sam used his influence to help get Eppy off the ground - he totally ❤️ Gracie - now she just has to get in contact with him. Since I‘m so close to finishing, I‘m going to do that now, and I‘ll post tomorrow! Happy reading!

#LittensLoveRomance Ch.35-36:Gracie finally comes out of hiding & sees Sam. He‘s been worried and searching for her. He says he doesn‘t believe she sold them out-Gracie doesn‘t really give him a chance to explain - she feels he‘s only there to help Fangli & they get interrupted by the paparazzi. It‘s sad that Gracie blocked both Sam and Fangli from being able to contact her. I really think she misheard them and is letting her insecurities rule.

#LittensLoveRomance Ch.33-34: Well, what can I say? I was expecting 💩to hit the fan, and was not disappointed. First it was all coming up roses for Sam and Gracie, but soon after, Gracie‘s insecurities and stress cause her to lash out and then the tabloids get ahold of the story. Gracie overhears Sam and Fangli talking abt firing her and leaves on her own instead. Was it Todd who spilled the beans? Personally I think a jealous Mei is to blame.

#LittensLoveRomance Ch.31-32: Sigh…really getting to like Sam the more we know him. Their “date” was sweet and it got me really pulling for them as a couple. I‘m thinking Mei is gonna cause trouble though - it‘s becoming clear that she has feelings for Sam and that she lied about him having a girlfriend. Unless I‘m reading this wrong, she might do something to sabotage Gracie or make her look bad in Sam‘s eyes.

#LittensLoveRomance Ch.29-30: whew!Gracie runs into Todd (haha I laugh b/c that‘s also my husband‘s name😝)- how does he run in the same circles as Fangli? He recognizes her as only a creep who has spent too long watching her would do. Luckily she stands her ground and he ends up getting kicked out of the party before he can cause much of a problem. And then…Sam kisses Gracie! Like for real! But the other shoe is about to drop I bet-It always does

#LittensLoveRomance Ch.27-28: Gracie and Sam kiss! Like a lot. But she‘s not supposed to get all the feelings. After all, they are only acting. He‘s certainly acting. Isn‘t he? Gracie admits to herself she‘s falling for Sam but knows she has to keep it hidden since it‘s certainly one-sided. Gracie also decides to stay to help Fangli - who seems to really need her right now. But can Gracie keep her feelings for Sam hidden for the next few weeks?

#LittensLoveRomance Ch.25-26: Gracie feels guilty over deceiving a sick kid with her Fangli disguise - that‘s pretty rough. I‘d feel guilty too! Kinda sucky that Sam and Fangli put her in that position, but Fangli does seem really unwell. I don‘t think she can handle much of anything right now. Sam needs to insist that she get help, and soon. Before Gracie quits and they‘re left on their own. I mean, if Gracie has the guts to quit like she intends

#LittensLoveRomance Ch.23-24: These were sad chapters. It‘s clear that Gracie is falling for Sam and - to the best of her and our knowledge - it‘s one sided. And having him go with her to see her mom and see Gracie at her most vulnerable was hard. Although it is nice to see Sam acting much kinder to Gracie, I‘d love to know what he is thinking!

#LittensLoveRomance Ch.21-22: The dark side of fame. Gracie and Sam get photographed in an accidental compromising position, Gracie gets accosted by an overzealous fan, and she has a wardrobe malfunction-ok the part with the Spanx was pretty funny (Who hasn‘t been there?) Gracie is starting to see that fame is not all it‘s cracked up to be. But that doesn‘t stop her from fantasizing about Sam some more-what would it be like to be Seen by him?

#LittensLoveRomance Ch.19-20: I‘m back from camping out in the Canadian wilds. I‘ve showered off the grime and am currently enjoying wifi again! It‘s Sad that both Fangli and Sam crave normalcy, when Gracie just wants to be seen. The grass isn‘t always greener, folks. Good that Gracie recognizes that they‘re all just using each other. Stay focused, stay on task, Gracie! Don‘t fall for Sam and his life any more than you already have.

#LittensLoveRomance Ch.17-18: okay, okay, Finally we see Sam opening up and not being such a jerk. Turns out he can be a nice guy. But Gracie knows better than to start fantasizing about what ifs and him and her - doesn‘t she? She has learned her lesson. Of course she has. I liked that this book mentions depression and how difficult it can be to talk about. If it‘s that hard in Canada I can only imagine China is worse.

#LittensLoveRomance Ch.13-16: poor Gracie! Sam is acting like such a jerk - he‘s hot and cold and no wonder it‘s messing with Gracie‘s head. I would have felt something too, but then he had to go and berate her after the art exhibit outing. I also didn‘t like the comment he made about her being a real Chinese person, even though he probably didn‘t realize how it hurt Gracie. When will things turn the corner for Gracie?

#LittensLoveRomance Ch.11-12: I‘m Still camping out in the wilds, sharing outhouse with a 🕷 and kitchen with a 🐭 - internet so spotty I never know when I‘ll have it. Apologies for not sticking to reading 🗓! Gracie goes on first outing with Sam as Fangli. It actually goes ok, except Sam is no conversationalist. We learn about Gracie‘s last bf - wow is all I can say. Poor Gracie. She needs some passion in her life for sure.

#LittensLoveRomance Ch.7-10 - Playing catch up! Gracie‘s doing a lot of studying and training for her role of a lifetime- and is having to deal with jerk-ish Sam while she‘s at it. It‘ll be interesting to see what melts his icy demeanour. But Gracie definitely needs to remember that she is only acting in this role for a short time. Then she goes back to her life whether she wants to or not.

#LittensLoveRomance Ch.5-6 Sorry for late post-I‘m camping and internet is very spotty! Gracie decides to help Fangli, partly for the money because she just got fired, but also b/c there‘s a part of her that wants to be glamorous and be noticed and to step out of her shell. But can she handle the gorgeous yet infuriating Sam for 2 months? I have my doubts….

#LittensLoveRomance Ch.3-4: The unfairness of what happens to Gracie with her job is unreal (actually I wish it wasn‘t realistic but we all know it happens). I‘m livid on her behalf. But I suppose it will be the push to make her accept Wei Fangli‘s offer. Desperate times and all that. Poor thing. But maybe this will turn out to be a good thing in the end.

#LittensLoveRomance Ch.1-2: Man, Gracie has a tough life right now! Her boss is a total prick and predator but she doesn‘t have proof and she needs the job to pay for her sick mother‘s residence and care, so she can‘t quit. Just as she‘s about to snap, an interesting proposition comes along from her doppelgänger - an A list actress who wants Gracie to pretend to be her for a couple of months. Gracie‘s not sure, but the money is tempting…
