Rereading this series so I can read the most recent issues that came out. Still one of my favorite graphic novel series!

Something to shake up my reading!!! From the library bookstore to support the Friends-of-the-Library
#GraphicNovel #onMyTBRsince2017
I read this ages ago but didn‘t remember much about it. I don‘t think I was focused on the detail of the story then and it went over my head. This time, I enjoyed the political aspects and the world building. A story like this can overwhelm me. If I don‘t read it all in one go then I forget details and lose the plot. So, I ended up taking notes on the characters and their backgrounds to reference as I continue the series. On to the next volume!

When you get so obsessed with book crates that you start buying job lots on ebay ?
Fave items here are the Murderbot headphone case and the Saga card holder. On the other side it says "I won't buy anymore books..."
Alright, going to try to do a proper review catchup today - May was great for reading but I am behind in talking about it!
First up - Saga Vol. 1! Many of my friends are fans of this series, and after reading the first volume, I can see why! I enjoyed the fascinating world unfolding, the ideas rendered in lovely art. I'll be so interested to see what comes next.
That was alright, wasn't it? Now, I wonder whether the library will have the other 9 volumes? 🤔
I love that both the protagonists and the antagonists will do anything to protect their children. Saga has great characters, bizarre creatures, and a sustained critique of war. But it isn't idealistic: having good principles can still get you killed--or worse.
At some point, you have to read the most popular comic book of the 21st century.
The dialogue is occasionally funny, the characters are so original and the plot was also pretty good with twists and turns.
The characters and artwork were on point.
The artwork was beautiful with a whole range of colours used, the characters are three-dimensional and complex.
Looking forward to Vol:2
Why didn‘t I read this sooner?! I am so in love already. I just got the first volume today from the library, not knowing how long a volume is— now I need to get volumes 1-10! Gorgeous fantasy world building, relatable characters and dialogue and social commentary, stunning art. Ahhhh I‘m so excited to dive in to this fandom!
Penny moves her head away every time I line up a halfway decent shot with tolerable lighting, but despite her resistance to the book-posing game she‘s a stellar buddy who helped me launch my first SAGA reread since Vol 9 dropped.
You ever have that thing where you‘re worried to go back to a beloved text in case it‘s stopped resonating? That wasn‘t an issue here. At all. Nothing in this world is perfect, but I FUCKING LOVE THIS COMIC. 😭😭😭
SO. GOOD!! I can‘t stop reading them!! @DimeryRene
#adventrecommends
One of my favorite gn series of all time. An intergalactic adventure like no other. You‘ll laugh, you‘ll cry you‘ll say to yourself what the heck did I just read but most of all you‘ll be treated to some great storytelling.
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 I started this as a reading challenge and am now so hooked, I‘m gonna binge as much as I can. Where is volume 2?
Highly imaginative world building (several worlds actually), good character development and both wonderful and “graphic” artwork. Why did wait so long to read?

Izabel, my favorite #undead character. It‘s been a fun month thanks for hosting @Eggs @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks
#IndelibleMoments Day 1: There is an incredible #Childbirth scene in Volume 1 of this astounding graphic novel that I so adore.
The tag includes the entire series.
Other “S” titles are both “Spring” and “Summer” by Ali Smith.
I have read all of these two times.

Vol one and I‘ve got to say I‘m surprised by how much I liked it. Great start to this series. One that gotten a lot of hype that I can admit is worth the ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ reviews.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ x 9! I #reread all of these recently, and the arc and art still knocked my socks off! Volume 10 is out in October. I‘ve been waiting so (im)patiently.
Time for a #reread! And time for my all-time favorite beer, only available in Wisconsin, but brought to us by awesome friends. 🍺 Cheers to those who have laid down their lives for our freedom. We appreciate you beyond comprehension. #MemorialDay 🇺🇸

Day 258.
Here I will note 365 books (or as many as I will have before I get tired) that have shaped my taste in literature. No explanations, no reviews. Just the cover of the book.
I do not challenge anyone. You are all welcome to take part.
#SagaSaturday If anyone needs me, I‘ll be right here, rereading all of Saga. Don‘t need me. 🤣🤣🤣
Time for a quick reread before the new edition! Love these two ❤
For #May #12in2021 I pick the Saga series - maybe I binged them all 😅 #5thbookof2021
I love this series, it‘s set in space but is so much more it also has some interracial issues, a transgender character and really is just such a stunning series.
@Andrew65
Our local comic bookstore announced that SAGA IS RETURNING on January 26!!! And what‘s more, they are giving away the next issue for free. What a long-awaited for day! I‘m surprised I haven‘t seen anyone else post about it. I ended the last Saga throwing it across the room, so curious to see what comes next…
Guess who's coming back in 2022...😲😲😲😢😭😆😆😆 I've provided a link to the article Diamond Distributors published on when the 55th issue of Saga will be published, and what Vaughn and Staples has in store for readers of the series. Link:https://diamondbookdistributors.org/brian-k-vaughan-fiona-staples-saga-returns/ #comics
I‘m late to see this news but better late than never. I‘m beyond excited for January and the return of Saga with a double issue!!! It‘s been a long wait and I can‘t wait to see what staples and Vaughan have in store for us. Winter can‘t get here fast enough!!!
(Head over to Vaughan‘s Instagram for a little more info if interested.)
Ok, here‘s the thing, I‘m super excited about Y the Last Man—I absolutely love this comic & recommend it to everyone but I have to be honest…I‘m over the moon, out of this world excited to see the last little bit…
#AndYesSagaUpdateIsComing.
When Vaughan & Staples went on hiatus, they said Saga was at the halfway point, that there are another 50 or so issues to go. I‘m just hoping for more…period…full stop. Can‘t wait to see what the update is!
There was a LOT of hype about this series, so I decided to pick it up. The artwork is absolutely amazing. Very imaginative with interesting & diverse characters. It's a little weird, but I'm starting to like it. At the end, I found myself somewhat invested in the story & curious about where it would go. I was put off by some of the more “adult“ content present in the story as it seemed a bit gratuitous, but I was still interested in the plot.
This particular volume is a re-read, but I stopped to save up. With my goal of 3 graphic novels per week to finish all my purchased graphic novels this year, these are my GNs for the next 3 weeks! #currentlyreading
So many good ones exist, but Dinos and Comics has been bringing me a lot of joy this pandemic. I also loved Saga (tagged), Fables, Nimona, and Lumberjanes, and I‘ve been wanting to try Rat Queens!
#comfortcomic @Mavey
Finished this first installment in the Saga series and loved it. Looking forward to the next volume.
Also finished today Jimmy the Kid, another great Dortmunder adventure, as funny and full of mishap as the others.
Both picks and both counting towards my February #BookSpinBingo
I was browsing the shelves in my local comic book shop today when I picked up the 1st compendium of Saga to tell my friend how good it was. When I opened it up I noticed that it was SIGNED by Brian K. Vaughan! So of course I bought it even though I already own volumes 1-9. 😂 But I knew I couldn‘t walk out of there without it. #saga
I love the book bingo and number spin stuff going around on Litsy and I wanted to add dice...because I'm a dice goblin!
So my next book will be Saga chosen by my Caleb Widogast inspired d4

1. The difference between graphic novels and comics is like binging on several episodes of a TV show as opposed to watching one episode a week.
2. Saga series. This is the series for people who say they don't like comics or graphic novels. @TheSpineView
3. Either is fine, depends on the story.

#20Series20Days Day 7
My #Top20Series list would not be complete without some of my favorite comics starting with Saga. I love everything about this comic about two soldiers from opposing sides who fall in love & then have to stay one step ahead of a universe trying to destroy them. Staples artwork is exquisite—I could stare at it all day. A complex, emotional story with a great cast of characters in a fascinating world.
