1. Yard work. We are finally getting some rain free days!
2. Kid- Astronomer. I loved astronomy. I even went to space camp when I was 12. Teen- Forensic Pathologist. I was obsessed with anatomy, medical science & true crime. I took pre-med science in hs but switched to vet med halfway through college.
3. We already did a few to OR & CO. Upcoming is Vancouver BC, and probably CO again.

I had a brainfart while ordering my coffee this morning. The barista and I shared a laugh and then she wrote this on my coffee. Here's hoping the rest of this day goes well.

I'm a bit iffy when it comes to fairies but I enjoyed this!
Kickass fairies and different

Slow plot, so so slow. The prose is full of descriptions, and I'm sure some readers love this, but it bogged down the whole book. At the halfway point I didn't really care about the story or the characters and skimmed the rest.

Well, I WAS having a peaceful book/pool moment and then four tween boys arrived. 😒

I first read this at the end of 2017 and both times it‘s completely pulled me in. The prose is perfect for the subject matter and my heart broke for the characters. I‘m so glad that I got the sequel from the library!

I have mixed feelings about this book. The prose are flawless. The location of Montenegro unique and intriguing. But for me, the plot fell apart a little over halfway through, and the gorgeous prose began to bog down the pace. I skimmed the last 4th of the story just to find out what happened, but the end seemed to come out of nowhere. I won't be picking up the sequel. 🙈

Never read a book set in Montenegro before. The writing was a bit florid for YA, but I enjoyed it. I'll definitely pick up the sequel - out now, thank goodness!

Next read. I‘ve been eyeing this one for a while. I still feel a little guilty when I read YA, and I hate that, so I‘m trying to get passed that by reading more YA—especially the YA about witches and murder.

I don't think I've ever read such a beautifully written book. Lana Popović is a lyrcial writer. It was so easy to fall into her world of Iris and Malina. So easy to picture every single thing she described, because she does it so detailed. There's a part in the book where the characters are eating fish at a restaurant and I do not like fish but the way Lana described it my mouth was seriously watering. Beautiful, beautiful book. 5 out of 5 stars

A little book haul. Wicked Like A Wildfire was an accidental buy, I totally forgot it was in my Amazon cart so when I ordered a wagon for my babies it got bought too. Shows how much I pay attention. So not upset about that though haha

As You Wish (A fitting book for my birthday today! Haha) and A Court of Frost and Starlight were bought from Walmart.

This book was a lovely read. The teenaged main characters, twins Iris and Malina, are engaging and sympathetic, and when combined with the unusual setting and the folkloric, witchy magic, the result is something that draws you in. It is not a standalone novel, but it is only a two-part series and the sequel comes out this summer, so luckily you don't have to wait long for the conclusion of the story!

Meh. I wanted to love this book (based on the cover mainly) but it was very slow going. The writing is beautiful though.

Book chosen for the month of February at Bookmark PR reading club.They had an interview with the author through Skype but I missed it😔In general I enjoyed this YA fantasy book developed in current time and fantasy world.First 200 pages, half of the book🤦🏻‍♀️was boring so descriptive that overwhelmed me.Some readers like that.There is an LGBT relation👍Then it was so interesting but with a confusing end.I will keep my beautiful signed copy😍3⭐️

Except for the fact that I absolutely lack the imagination as to what exactly one of the characters does with their magic..this was a great read. The characters are so interesting and wonderful in their own ways, and the writing really did it for me. It went straight to my heart. And I didn't see most of the plots coming, which I found really entertaining. It is an awesome book and I'll definitely look out for more from this author.

My thoughts: are they? ARE THEY? These specific characters give me a very specific vibe, and please please please, let me be right. That would be so, so, so awesome. Pleeeease.

I don't exactly get what's going on or where this is going, but my god, I love the writing. It is on point, and hurts in all the good ways.

Using Instagram, and someone posts something in their story. I reply thinking 'If they're posting in their story, they obvs want to talk about it, lets be social!'
I then get only a few words in reply, sometimes only one word. Eventually gave up. Anyone else find that some people post on insta for the follows and not for the interaction?

Hmmm. I really liked the premise — twins born with a ‘gleam‘ or ability to manipulate beauty through magic who must hide their talent from everyone lest they be discovered & trouble ensue. So many ways to go & in this particular story, something happens to their mother which leads the twins to the secrets she kept from them. Ultimately, I found the writing to be uneven & I skimmed some parts so I would have to say not a favorite but not terrible.

This book was ok. Really intriguing premise, but for the 150 pages everything was really slow and it was hard to get through. After that things picked up and I found I was a little hooked on the storyline, but overall the story did tend to drag a little. I will probably still read the 2nd book though, if that's helps you decide if you should read it! (It's a duology)

I just started a new job this week and I am loving it! The people are great and the role is really interesting! I am also able to get my audiobook listening done on my commute which is awesome!

Last months #fairyloot book is so pretty. I love a book with a gorgeous cover, it's like a competition amongst all the publishers to see who can make the best cover. I think this may even outdo The Essex Serpent.
