I‘ve been wanting to read the tagged and hope this is the motivation I need to do so.

Caught the double rainbow on my way to see Chicago the musical last night. I was the passenger and the pic is through the windshield. I can‘t begin to describe how brilliant the colors of the first one was. I had never seen one that bright before. Nature inspires hope

Still working slowly through King. Loving the Sense & Sensibility adaptation. Starting the audio today. Hope to start Margo today, too. On the Calculation is the only Booker International Longlist book my library has and I‘m trying not to buy new books. The Women‘s Prize Longlist drops the 4th and it may change all of the above 😂
I miss doing a #BookReport and miss @Cinfhen leading the way.
Colored Television was good on audio. I said “Oh, Jane!” numerous times. I‘m glad I stuck it out.
The Lost Passenger was enjoyable. Ultimately an immigrant story set in NYC. It has a lighter tone than most I‘ve read with this time and setting.
The Bell Jar was hard. After sitting on my shelf for years, I‘m grateful to finally have read it. #HashtagBrigade

Two more books off my *indle and even better no additions. One book each for my #Roll100 Both were ok not fantastic.

Elinor survives the sinking of the Titanic and it sets her on a different life path from the one she thought she‘d be living. I really enjoyed this book.

A belated birthday post for @Mimi28
This is one of our two cats, Dahlia. She has not been a happy camper since we added Pippin (our 9 month old black pug)to the family. After a vet visit and some good drugs she is back to being her normal amount of neurotic. Here she is after Pippin has gone to bed cuddling up to his favorite toy.
Hope you had a wonderful day 💚
1) My little patch of crocuses alert me to Spring on its way. And warm enough to have the windows open yesterday.
2) watching the neighbor cat perform his high wire act
3) Pippin did great at daycare. This is his mom I don‘t want to go out pose. He‘s dead weight til he gets his belly rub.
4) Wise words in the chaos
5) Finding a laugh amongst the absurdity of it all.
Finding joy is resistance! They want you to feel powerless, don‘t let them! 🩷
#MentalHealthMonday
1) Not bad due to a decent night‘s sleep and I haven‘t seen any news today.
2) Music always helps!
3) Depending on the type of hard it can be dance it out music, sing at the top of my lungs or lyrics that make me cry.

I finished 3 books. Two buddy reads which were fun if not fantastic The Secret Adversary with #ChristieCapers and From Dust to Stardust with #SundayBuddyRead. I also finished Beautyland which I 🩷.

Still reading King albeit slowly and haven‘t made much progress on Do the Work. Reading the #NetGalley ARC of the tagged. Starting CT and Margo today. Still keeping up with my daily reads.

Today‘s section in our #TreeADay reading. My question to you is if you have read the tagged book, any factual history or historical fiction set during WWII how you cannot see the parallels from that time to this? What is keeping you from recognizing how our freedoms are being taken away piece by piece? It is happening again and you are not only cheering for it you are praising God for it. God help us all.

Going to work on downloading my kindle content to my computer and no longer purchase kindle books. What a pain! However far I get I will still have plenty to compile a list of 20 for this challenge for the foreseeable future. 😬😂

Beautyland hit my February sweet spot. Audiobook where life happens but there is a lightness in tone that keeps anxiety at bay. Glad to have read this #TOBshortlist book. 4 🌟

Decided to look for the rest of 2025 list. These 4 are on Book Outlet. Summer at Tiffany is $7.99 and the rest are $5.99. $35 gets free shipping. They are having a sale. I have 9 books on the way 😁

1) ⬆️ something that generated a bit of joy and hope this week.
2) Pippin passed his daycare intake! He did so well and it was such fun watching him interact with other dogs.
3) Worked a couple of half days this week and really enjoyed it. Thinking of not throwing in the tax towel after all.
4) Chapter a day buddy reads. It helps to have a plan.
5) Beautyland is a joy to listen to after the depressing #4 books

Watched these two adaptations over the last two evenings and I truly love both. I had forgotten Anna Madeley (Mrs. Hall of All Creatures Great & Small) was Miss Lucy Steele. Maybe the 2008 3 episode series has a slight edge since it has more content than 1995 film.

Going through the tagged fairly slowly. Keeping on task with buddy reads. And just started the other three current reads. Concentrating is currently a bit of a challenge. Having a plan visualized is a big help.
What are your reading plans for the week?

Black Woods, Blue Sky by Eowyn Ivey 3 🌟
The God of the Woods by Liz Moore 3 🌟
Stitches by Anne Lamont 3 🌟

Put “Literally my Character” in Pinterest search bar. First 6 are you. Thanks to the @TheBookHippie for starting this trend.
I‘ve enjoyed seeing everyone‘s posts.
#5JoysFriday
1) Baked a Maple Pecan cake yesterday…sometimes you just NEED cake
2) Pippin‘s favorite toy is monkey man which is almost as big as he is
3) I am loving Les Mis chapter a day
4) After surviving reading Lark Rise to Candleford, rewatching the series on BritBox makes it all worthwhile
5) We haven‘t had much snow but I‘ve loved watching it fall.
Share your joys! It helps combat the barrage of daily 💩 we get.

I‘ve often said short stories and I don‘t get along for the most part. I usually am left wanting something more but I do not have that feeling with these stories. These well written, connected stories are satisfying. I do think going audio with different narrators helped

It makes sense that there would be a word for this but I didn‘t know it til a few days ago. Presented here with some examples 😀

1) Rested, caffeinated and ready to start the day with a side of worry.
2) Music, putting aside what isn‘t helping, quilting, walking and playing with the pugster

Still working on my kindle and print books. Audio seems to be working better for me. Three stories into the History of Sound and am loving it!

1) Chapter a day reading: Tagged, Villette and #Hashtag brigade
2) Sunny days. Temps are cold but if I stand in the sun I can almost feel Spring and the sunsets have been spectacular
3) Heated throw and Pippin snuggles
4) Traitors: I normally don‘t watch “reality” tv but Kelly and I are enjoying the mindless hour and dissecting it all
5) Long conversation with my dad: books, state of the world, all the things

Audio books that aren‘t too heavy with characters that I love and root for seem to be what my brain and heart want. That and any excuse to organize something. I bought new hangers after a friend told me about the slimmer velvet cover ones. Spent some time today switching them in with the old plastic ones out.
Loved this one. When Greta tells about Val listening to I‘m Not in Love after getting his heart broken I‘m thinking been there, done that.
#1 Up and down.
#2 Anxious
#3 Reading when my brain allows me to focus and reorganizing my sewing room. Bought new hangers for my clothes so closet is next. Busy work helps calm me. Allowing Pippin to take me on a walk when weather permits and lots of play with toys when it doesn‘t. For a small dog he is strong!

It feels a little bit like cheating since I‘m already nearing the end of the tagged book and the Christie is on deck for #ChristieCapers buddy read. I will try to get one of the other two read as well.

Final (I think) January stat post. I love all of Storygraph‘s features.
Thanks to @CSeydel and @Catsandbooks for posting brackets for 2025. Since each will pit a different book one against another I decided to do both and see what happens.

Chapter a day reading seems to be working for me right now. I‘ve broken down the tagged book into one or two daily chapters to see if I‘m more successful with my second attempt of reading Vilette. Thought I‘d share my plan in case others want to try that approach.

Final finish for January. Set in Leavenworth WA during winter ski season. It is always feels like being home when I settle into this series. I needed that.
Minor pet peeve rant: Ellie this sentence is so unnecessary. “Little did I know our safe village might not end up being that space.” You write cozy murder mysteries. We KNOW your otherwise idyllic town is Not a safe space. There have been 6 murders to date. 😂
