Also, if you tell me you will arrive around noon on Monday and then call at 8 saying you want to come now before I have had coffee the answer will always be NO!

#WeeklyForecast
I had gotten behind in my buddy reads again so decided it was time to catch up and start the new ones on time. Hoping doing a #WeeklyForecast will keep me motivated.
I am almost at the finish line with the tagged and What We Knew. Next audio will be Nobody‘s Girl. Not sure what my next ebook will be. Just started the Austen for #NonfictionNovember and will start Persuasion soon.
🤞🏼 I can stay on task 😂

#GoodNewsSunday
Lots of books releasing Tuesday. These 3 caught my eye. I‘m especially interested in Don‘t Stop.
And a new Dr. Seuss book was discovered “Sing the 50 United States”

#5JoysFriday
1) The overwhelming response my community has given to the call to feed children due to SNAP being cancelled.
2) Fused glass ornament class with my daughter.
3) #AllHallowsReadSwap
4) #ModernWitchSwap
5) Pippin has been to daycare every day this week. He comes home tired, has dinner and we spend the evening snuggled up with the heated throw.
@DebinHawaii

@KadaGul I love everything in my #MWS box! From the wrapping and fantastic book choices to all the goodies and the card with the great quote. Thank you so much, Sumera, for the joy this gift brought. It is all lovely and so appreciated.
Thank you Ashley for hosting!
#ModernWitchSwap

Christine! I am so happy about your book choices! I can‘t wait to dive in. And ecstatic about the Brach‘s candy corn! I have refrained from buying any in the hopes it would arrive via a swap. Not only do I LOVE it, my husband is not a fan, so I don‘t have to share. I might share a bit of the yummy chocolate bar. Thank you so much for the above and beyond box. 🧡🖤🧡. @TheBookHippie
Love this swap! Thanks for hosting @MaleficentBookDragon

#WeirdWordWednesday
Probably a good thing I am home alone this morning!

This is how I like my AI …. This is Kelly Boesch.
Watching her videos is very calming.

A little bit of this and that. Jump in and share your mood, whatever it may be, in whatever way suits you. It is proving to be a small but helpful way to start my week.

#GoodNewsSunday
A couple of books releasing Tuesday. I enjoyed The Once and Future Witches by Harrow. This one sounds good. Also, NF about the Girl Scouts.
I am here for high school students organizing a banned book club. I hope there are more of them out there finding ways to read all the things.

Picked up 2 Amazon boxes from the post office for #AllHallowReadSwap. Thank you to my match. Super excited for opening day. @MaleficentBookDragon
And I finished my 100 voting reminder cards ready for tomorrow‘s designated mailing date. It was my first time. It felt good to spend time doing a positive action rather than scrolling gloom and doom.

Historical fiction of Anne Frank‘s life in Amsterdam to the day they went into hiding. Short and great on audio I was near tears many times. It is impossible not to recognize the parallels from the dehumanizing of Jews at the hands of the Nazi regime to what is happening today in the US at the hands of our current administration.

#Magic!onday
I won‘t win the farthest travel distance so am jumping on the time travel train.
Here is the book proof for our travel back to Hitler and fascism. I‘m only part way into it but the parallels are there for all to see and understand if you‘d only care enough to open your eyes a bit to the relentless propaganda.

#MondayMood #SecondEdition
I spent a lot of scrolling time last week which created too much to share in one post. I‘ll stop now.

#MondayMood
I am bone weary tired of our government‘s lies, evasions, distractions, inhumanity, etc. it is a daily assault on our mental health and well being. However, I will not give up using my voice to denounce them at every opportunity.
Saying I‘m looking forward to reading Virginia‘s book sounds wrong. I think it will be an uncomfortable read but she deserves our attention as do ALL survivors of abuse.

#GoodNewsSunday
Releasing the 21st is a debut author‘s poetry collection. Some may have seen her poems on IG. I‘ve been leaning into a bit more poetry lately.
From Publishers Weekly a couple of articles. One Lego is getting into publishing and Jumpstart partnering with Little Free Library for early literacy in preschoolers. I think you can access the articles on their website. If not, let me know.
Also, thank you for showing up yesterday! ❤️

#TuesdayTunes
Yesterday started out gloomy and then the wind picked up and washed it away. Today is a perfect fall day.
I love Vivaldi‘s Four Seasons and learned he wrote sonnets for each season at a candlelight performance a couple of years ago.
Here is Autumn: https://youtu.be/UIdwCrfDNjU?si=QrP8lmLBVBdn3b_B.
Along with Van Gogh‘s Harvest at La Crau with Montmajour in the Background.

Contrary to what the federal government would have you believe Portland is not on fire nor is it war ravaged. I appreciate the approach the protestors are taking. I appreciate our Governor‘s response to the federal government wanting to stir up trouble to continue their plan to lead us into chaos. I don‘t live in Portland but it is my city. Keep it up Portland, you are doing great. Also, F*UK ICE.

#MondayMood
It is rainy and gloomy today so my mood is a little down in the dumps. After coffee I have to get my act together and go into the office for a bit to deal with last minute tax filer returns. What‘s your mood today?

I almost forgot to post this week‘s #GoodNewsSunday
For the memoir lover this sounds like it might be a joyful read. I‘ve only read one of her books, The Library Book. Are there others I should read?
I love this news about Bob Ross paintings. Public television is so important. What a fantastic way to continue his legacy.

#MWS @BookwormAHN @BarkingMadRead Swap package is on its way. Due to arrive Tuesday. Kim, I forgot to enclose the card before taping it up so mailed it separately. Also, clerk put it in a mailer so it will look different than the starry night envelope.
#AHRS @MaleficentBookDragon @AmyG Swap package on its way also due to arrive Tuesday. Amy, the box also has your bday gift. All is wrapped so you can open that part on time. 🎂🎈

I haven‘t listened to much Offspring since my kids were young but we all went to see them last month. They put on a great show and brought back fond memories. And I‘m finding their music to be good, loud and danceable resistance.

I've pretty much given up collecting more stuff but have some lovely tea pots. My new favorite thing is pins. Small and expressive. Here are some favorites not currently attached to anything.

#MondayMood
Share your mood if you like. It is a sanity project to find and share others words that express my feelings.

#GoodNewsSunday
I still haven‘t read either of Kirsten Miller‘s other books but like how this one sounds.
Ideas for banned book week: go to the library and borrow banned books or drop banned books off at a little library or two.
Happy Sunday!

#GoodNewsSunday
Every time I think I‘m done with WWII another book is published that sounds so fascinating. The tagged book releases Tuesday.
Who doesn‘t love LeVar Burton!?! I appreciate all he‘s done to promote children literacy.
Is there an upcoming book you‘re excited about or a piece of good news, bookish or not, you would like to share? I think we all need a dose or two of good news.
Happy Sunday Everyone 💙

And because my previous posts were a bit crabby here‘s a pic to help reduce stress.

We do not care if our responding email was short and to the point. Yes, I‘m grumpy. I have been retired from that job from almost 2 years! And we discussed part of your question last week when I was in the office. It is not on me if you cannot remember something. Take notes!

#WeirdWordWednesday #NewWord
Since this seems to be where we are as a country a new word seems appropriate. I wish it wasn‘t so. Although on a brighter note I keep hearing Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious in my head when I say it.
@CBee

@Laughterhp Mikala! Thank you so much! I love everything. The journal and fall bookmarks will be put to immediate use. I am over the moon about the books you chose for me. I woke up to a bit of rain yesterday so the cozy socks are perfect and all my favorite treats. All of it is perfect.
Thank you for hosting @Avanders @Chrissyreadit I look forward to this swap every year. It never disappoints. 🧡🍁🧡

#MondayMood
Share your mood today, political or non, what you are smiling about, what‘s hurting your heart, what‘s making you angry, what makes you go hmmmm. The act of building a board from memes and quotes helps start my week off on the right foot. I‘d love to see your board.

#GoodNewsSunday
Lots of new books releasing Tuesday especially for the fantasy lovers. This dystopian novel from Ian McEwan sounds interesting.
Love Dolly‘s reading advocacy program. And the link is for the Publisher‘s Weekly article about everyday folks doing what they can to fight back against book banning in their communities. https://www.publishersweekly.com/pw/by-topic/industry-news/publisher-news/articl...

“History is not nostalgia, but a lesson to be learned. Each generation has a duty of watchfulness.” Francois Hollande
The story of women in the French resistance who were arrested and ultimately sent to Ravensbrück. How they bonded, how they helped protect the rabbits (the Polish women subjected to inhumane experiments) and how they continued to resist during and after their liberation. 5 ?

#5JoysFriday
1) I found our wind telephone with the help of a friend.
2) #FallCardSwap arrivals. All are just lovely spots of joy.
3) #SundayBuddyRead merch and the enclosed card. The douchebag in my head really does need to shut it 🤣
4) Finding Joy in Resistance. It hurt my heart a little to cancel Disney+ but it brings joy to put my belief‘s into action.
5) And finding new businesses to support. My new shirt is on the way.

#TLT #ThreeListThursday
Most of this is just ICK! 🤢 My lowly number is almost all the beverages and cakes. All you pumpkin spice folks are welcome to all those things. Give me all the Apple, gingerbread, candy corn and real s‘mores.
@dabbe

#LaLobas
If there is water to be found I will find it. Ocean, river, waterfall, stream or creek. And if possible my feet will be in it at the very least. I was very fortunate to live right on the Pacific Ocean the year before and during my parent‘s separation and divorce. The ocean and I spent hours together. The ocean held all my tears, all my screams. Water is where I go to process, to heal and for solace.

#MondayMood. #FoodForThought
What is your mood today?
I started my day with awesome articles sent by friends and coffee. Ready to hold on to my joy with both hands and not let the f*ckers get me down.

#GoodNewsSunday
Tagged book is releasing Tuesday. In our current time where the federal government is doing their best to white wash history this book may be a necessary antidote.
The blurb about the Baillie Gifford prize caught my eye due to Yiyun Li‘s memoir. I read an interview and was so fascinated.
I love seeing the book world ban together to promote children reading. Find ways to help get books in the hands of children.

The tagged book is my first memory of loving a book. I still have my childhood copy. Unfortunately it shows some wear and that I possibly wasn‘t as kind to books as I am now 😢
@BookmarkTavern

#5JoysFriday
1) I am starting to get a bit of my reading mojo back.
2) Visiting my library is full of joy. Pleasantly surprised to see the book I mentioned in #GoodNewsSunday on the new shelf. Also that it supports the ACLU.
3) Pippin showing off his teeth.
4) Lunch dates with friends this week.
5) #BBB

#TLT #ThreeListThursday
I realized I did last week‘s survey and never posted my results. I don‘t remember the exact number but I was thrilled it was more than half. Today‘s result is 26 out of 45.
Favorites are The Goonies, Hocus Pocus and Moonstruck.
@dabbe

#WeDoNotCare #WDNCW
We do care that you were kind enough to stop to allow us to cross the street. We do not care that you think we should move faster. Inching towards us does not help. We now have the right of way and you can‘t make us run.
Denise, it is not letting me tag you. So annoying.

#WeirdWordWednesday
A certain someone‘s voice is cacophonous to me. While in the literal sense of the word I might be wrong but the physical response I get when I accidentally hear it makes it seem so.
@CBee

Between yesterday and today I got all my #FallCardSwap cards mailed and I have received a few but haven‘t opened any yet. I think I am going to open one a day with my morning coffee starting tomorrow.
@TheBookHippie

I was only going to participate in one fall swap but then FOMO happened and here we are. There‘s a couple of days left to sign up for the #ModernWitchSwap hosted by @BookwormAHN . Sign ups for #AllHallowsReadSwap hosted by @MaleficentBookDragon are open until the 21st . Both of these swaps are lots of spooky fun. To join in go to their feeds for sign up links.

#MondayMood
Last week was a bit tough. I was down in the dumps and struggling to find light. There is always light even if it is elusive at times. This week is starting off better. Share your mood today, good or bad.

#GoodNewsSunday
The tagged book sounds great with content from a multitude of authors, artists and others.
I haven‘t purchased anything from Kind Cotton but thought this is the kind of business I want to support. You might be interested as well.
And in other news a win against book banning in Alberta Canada. The full article can be found at the New York Times.
We all need good news, bookish or non in the current climate. Share yours. 💙
