1) I‘m ok today. Feel like last week‘s funk is dissipating. Had a good walk this morning, did some chores and got groceries. Ready to start the week.
2) Daily walks, lots of pug snuggles, lunch with a friend and hubby is home for the next ten days.

Juliet Tilney and Jonathan Darcy are each sent to London by their parents to expand their social connections and if they find a match so much the better as long as it‘s not each other. Of course murder happens and they are again called into help the investigation. I‘m really enjoying this series and glad to know there willl be at least 2 more.

Loving the Shakespearen twist on thoughts and feelings. And trying, although not always successfully, to concentrate on TODAY. What must be done, what act of resistance, finding the joy, etc. to avoid feeling overwhelmed and to fight spiraling into despair. Creating a mood board out of things I find when scrolling seems to help.

Not great especially since 6 of them are DNF‘s.
I have the 2006 version of the book and have read/dnf‘d 24. In my version, and not on the survey, are Persuasion, Northanger Abbey, A Christmas Carol, Alice‘s Adventures in Wonderland, Little Women, War and Peace, Anna Karenina and Tess of the D‘Urbervilles. It‘s hard to imagine that these didn‘t make the list.
Classics are hit or miss for me but have added some to Mt TBR
#WondrousWednesday
1) On Independent Bookstore Day I purchased Audition and Raising Hare. I‘ve managed to not buy anything since.
2) I review on NetGalley, Litsy, IG and sometimes Amazon and B&N. I enjoy writing short reviews especially for books I loved, not so much for books I didn‘t like.

Lots of favorites on this list: Jane Eyre, Watership Down, War & Peace, The Shell Seekers to name a few
Unpopular opinion stinkers: The Alchemist and Captain Corelli‘s Mandolin

I read King over three months. It is a deep dive into his life from childhood to his assassination. A man of great passion and conviction who worked tirelessly to end racism, fight poverty and end the war in Vietnam. I knew the highlights but there is so much more here. Let‘s just saying lying and manipulation in government is not a new problem. Our current government would like to erase this history. Let‘s not agree to that.

#WondrousWednesday
1) Roses because my grandma wore Tea Rose perfume daily and lilacs because of the large lilac bush by the front door of her house.
2) I was just talking to my dad about this. Rather than a specific memory it was our years in Ephrata. Sledding down suicide hill, riding our bikes all over town, playing out in the dry fields, spending our afternoons at the pool. It was definitely a different time in terms of safety and freedom.
An appropriate meme to go with @TheSpineView ‘s #Two4Tuesday questions. I needed a smile and it always delivers. ❤️📚❤️

2) Wild Dark Shore is my favorite book of April.

Voted! The long list is full of fantastic sounding books, so many new to me titles. I can‘t wait to see what we will be reading. Don‘t forget to vote by May 9. Link is on @BarbaraBB #CampLitsy25 post.
Tomorrow is Independent Bookstore Day. I invite you to share the bookstores in your area. I‘ll be visiting the tagged that is a bit like a mini Powell‘s and Grassroots in Corvallis, Oregon. Let‘s do our part to push back against Amazon‘s greed.

1) I‘ve never watched The Gilmore Girls. Thruthe first 4 episodes…charming
2) I finally went back to the pool yesterday at the Y. Felt fantastic
3) Have to get 30 hours of CE done by end of May, almost halfway done
4) Pippin
5) Flowers and sunshine

When I first saw the title of this book I stated it can‘t be MY Soap Lake, a tiny town 6 miles from where I lived 1st thru 7th grades, but it is. This book is quirky and suspenseful told thru two timelines. It also sent me down a rabbit hole about its history and its healing waters which I don‘t recall learning about in school. Fun read! 4.25 🌟

So many of us have read the books, fiction and nonfiction. We feel we understand the horrors of WWII and say “Never Again” passionately. And I think we truly believed that we would never allow it happen again, that no one could ever be that evil in our lifetime. But it is here on full display. It‘s like our President is using Hitler‘s playbook.
