#AdventRecommends Day 3
The Truths and Triumphs of Grace Atherton
Anstey Harris
A lot of my favourite books have the theme of music as a central part of the plot, and I think that was partly why I enjoyed this one so much!

The Keeper of Lost Things
Ruth Hogan
I have read two books by Ruth Hogan and particularly enjoyed this one!
After the death of his wife, Anthony Peardew makes it his mission to return lost items to their rightful owners. I found The Keeper of Lost Things is a wholesome and life affirming book, as well as being a moving read.
I am also in love with the beautiful cover 🥰
#AdventRecommends Day 1
Clap When You Land
Elizabeth Acevedo
Clap When You Land is a powerful book written in verse that follows the lives of Camino and Yahaira, whose lives are devastated after they both lose their father in a plane crash.
I love reading books in verse, and several of my favourite authors that I have discovered this year write in this style!
Do you enjoy books in verse? And do you have any recommendations? 😊

Happy 1st November everyone ❤

Thanks for the tag @Arvena 😊
The tagged book is all about two teenagers hiking the Appalachian Trail together and is the most environmentally themed book I could think of!
My middle name is from my great grandmother but I think my parents just liked my first name 😂
I am thankful that I am warm and fed, and that my family are healthy. I am also grateful that I have the time to do things I love 💕

@Cosmos_Moon
I've increased my reading challenge goal from 130 books to 150!
I don't know whether I'll make it as there's not much of the year left and I have no idea what the next few months will bring - but it's called a challenge for a reason 😂
How is your reading challenge going so far? 😊
Just a little library haul 🤣🤣🤣
I found so many books that I have wanted to read for ages so I am very happy!
Where to start though? 🤔
#libraryhaul
I finished 4 books this week! They were:
💛 Worlds Away From You by Charlotte Mednick
💛 The Stars At Oktober Bend by Glenda Millard
💛 The Trouble With Flying by Rachel Morgan
💛 The Girl's Guide to Summer by Sarah Mlynowski
I also made progress with the audiobook I am listening too (Suggested Reading by David Connis) and started UnEnchanted by Chanda Hahn and The Night Country by Melissa Albert!
#weeklyroundup
My favourite ever character would probably be Eleanor Oliphant from the tagged book.
I fell in love with everything about her and was rooting for her from beginning to end.
#funfriyay @HappilyEverKrafter
1. I usually do but I haven't done one this year yet!
2. I've never seen a white pumpkin before 😱 So I'll have to say orange 🤣
3. Frozen Charlotte (tagged) I'm not a big horror fan but this one CREEPED me out 😦
@MoonWitch94 #thoughtfulthursday
1. The Flatshare by Beth O'Leary. I couldn't get into it at all but Bookstagram loved it 😂
2. My current read (tagged) on a beach somewhere warm and sunny would be lovely! 🏖
3. Chocolate all the way 😋

#WordsOfOctober Day 20 - REMARKABLE
I read this recently and it is one of my favourite books of 2020 so far.
Eleanor Oliphant is a truly #remarkable character (and that definitely sounds like something she would say!)
Have you read this? What did you think of it?

Photo from Google 😊
I haven't taken part in one of these photo challenges for months and forgot how much I enjoyed them 😊
Today's prompt for #wordsofoctober is TREAT so I thought I would share a photo of the cake I made for my brother's birthday recently!

🌈 RAINBOW BOOKS 🌈
Happy Saturday everyone!
Hope you are all having a lovely day 🤗
I have been so busy these last few weeks (months!) and have completely abandoned my Litsy profile. However I have still found time to read so will try and share some of my favourites 😊
#rainbowbookstack
Hey there!! 👋🏼
I've not been on Litsy in so long! How is everyone doing?
Just thought I would post a little library haul from yesterday. Our libraries are running a click and collect service where they choose the books and it's really made me read different things which I am loving ☺
Books Read 7
Kindle Books 4
Physical Books 2
Audiobooks 1
My favourite book this month was The Library of Lost Things which I listened to as an audiobook :)
I have also re-read four books that I own as the libraries still aren't open - I can't wait until the 15th July!

And my blog is live! Definitely the scariest button I have pressed 😱😱😱
I have been on Goodreads for about a year, but have previously only been using it to keep track of what I have read for myself. I am now hoping to branch out and use Goodreads more, with the goal being to improve my review writing.
You can come and say hello here if you would like :)
www.goodreads.com/beingmissrose
1. Warm and sunny! It's been about 18°C which I know is nothing compared to some places, but it's hot for where I live ☀️
2. Tent all the way - I've never camped in anything other than a tent ⛺
I'm not sure I would really choose to be her, however I do relate to Harriet Manner's social awkwardness in Geek Girl 😶
4. Sleep in and have a lazy morning usually! And when I say sleep in, it's usually only around 9 am but still! 🌸

Introducing "Being Miss Rose" ...
... my new book blog!
I set up a WordPress account this morning and have started trying to figure out how on earth to work it (it's proving to be much harder than I thought - but I am determined!)
I'll let you know when it's properly up and running, but for now I am changing my Litsy handle to @beingmissrose to match the blog!
Watch this space...
1. I only have one - a pile of read library books. I can't wait for the libraries to reopen so I can get some more books! All of the books I own are on my bookshelf :)
2. Children of Virtue and Vengeance by Tomi Adeyemi
Tagging anyone who hasn't played yet!
Hello! Sorry I haven't been active lately, the last few months have been a bit weird...
Anyway, the big news is that I have decided I would like to start a blog! 🎉 My gap year plans are up in the air and I want something to keep me busy :) There's nothing that I would love to do more than share my love of reading and crafting with everyone! Now all I need is a name - and finding one that hasn't already been taken is proving very difficult...
My 700th book added to my Goodreads "Read" shelf is As Far As The Stars, definitely a ????? read!!
Doing some #audiocolouring !!
Over the last few weeks I have discovered audiobooks for the first time and fallen in love slightly ... I'm onto my third audiobook and they have been on while I'm knitting, crocheting, tidying....
Colouring book: Secret Garden by Joanna Basford
Audiobook: As Far As The Stars (tagged)
Hope everyone is doing ok 😊
#bookspin
I forgot to post at the end of February but I read The Hazel Wood and absolutely loved it!
As for Les Mis... It is in progress... as in it took me a month to get to page 5 ... but my aim is to finish it by the end of this year 😛
Looking forward to reading Rascal and The Origin of Species this month :)
@TheAromaofBooks
My two books for #bookspin #doublespin are The Hazel Wood by Melissa Albert and Les Miserables by Victor Hugo!
I bought The Hazel Wood a while ago, but after seeing it listed as someone's #worstread I have never picked it up - and this gives me a good reason to!
I am currently obsessed with Les Mis after seeing the staged concert in the cinema and can't wait to read the book now.
Thank you for the great idea @TheAromaofBooks !!
1. Dragged by...but it was payday today finally!
2. The Keeper of Lost Things by Ruth Hogan - amazing!
3. The Great Gatsby - I feel like I should have read it by now! It's on my #bookspin list but I will read it even if it is not chosen! :)
4. Will do ! 👍🏼
#friyayintro
My list for #Bookspin !!!
A lot of these are classics as I am very guilty of downloading them onto my kindle and then never reading them 😂
Looking forward to this! And going to try for the double spin as well as reading book 18 from January as I only just discovered this challenge 😁
@TheAromaofBooks
December 3rd - #adventrecommends Day 3
All of my #adventrecommends books are ones that I have read this year! I rated this 🌟🌟🌟🌟 on Goodreads however I can't remember why I didn't give it five because it was really good!
I would class it as a historical fiction and it's very different to things I would usually read, but it brought me out in goosebumps! :)
December 2nd - #adventrecommends Day 2
I'm way behind on my own challenge, so I'm desperately trying to catch up! I've read so many good books this year that people should know about and want to post them all 😂
For day two it's Children of Blood and Bone :) I loved this and can't wait to read the next one!
December 1st - #adventrecommends Day 1
My first recommendation for is What If It's Us by Becky Albertalli and Adam Silvera. This was the first book I read in 2019 and I absolutely loved it. I would also recommend any other Becky Albertalli book! 🤗
It's the 1st of December tomorrow which mean it's time for #adventrecommends to begin!
Throughout advent, share one book every day that you think people should know about - it could be 24 books that you loved this year, or your 24 favourite books of all time!
Feel free to share this, and I look forward to seeing your posts! 🎁
@LitsyHappenings @Litsy
I'm back! I've not been on Litsy in ages (trying to spend less time on my phone and more time reading!)
I'm now on to book 93 of this year and it has been on my tbr for the last couple of months. I am absolutely obsessed with the musical's soundtrack at the moment and have had it playing on repeat since I discovered it :)
So far the book is definitely living up to my expectations 🤞
? "Why was she meant to care what she looked like or what other people thought of her?" ?
1. It might sound like the title of a 3 year olds book but it's actually really good!
2. We don't have a long weekend here! But I'm going to a concert tomorrow and then out on Sunday too :)
3. Honeycomb 😍😍😍
4. This is my favourite #friyayintro question so far! Saxophone and piano are my main instruments but through school I have also played ukulele, bass guitar, steel pans, drum kit and started singing!
5. Will do! Happy Friday everyone 🎉🎉🎉
1. Northern Lights by Phillip Pullman 🌌
2. Divergent - I think I have read it 4 times! 🤓
3. Over 300 on my Goodreads TBR 😊
4. Feminists Don't Wear Pink 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
5. Consider yourself tagged! :)
#wondrouswednesday
@Eggs
1. I read this one quite recently and it was really good ?
2. To be able to read for as long as I wanted without it taking up any time in the "real world" ?
3. Aries ?
4. Nothing yet! I have some maths homework that I was assigned 7 weeks ago due on Monday though ?
5. Happy Friday everyone!!! ???

Day 9 - Bookworm
1. The evening 🌅
2. I usually read after I am completely ready for bed (and more often than not fall asleep with my book in my hand!) I find that it is the best way to wind down after a busy day 😉
@TheSpineView
#Two4Tuesday
1. Outdoor...I hate being inside
2. Hot Chocolate ☕
3. I've read a few books recently set in America and I would lovvve to go to New York one day :)
4. Black
5. Yes because I only own black underwear (a bit boring really)
The book I have tagged is slightly irrelevant because I am Scottish but there's no such book as "A Scottish Girl in New York" ???
